Quote:still think my 88' 300zx had a look to it though :biggrin:the Z31 is a very good car, can do some sick tuning with it, for not much of a price either. Z32 is just ridiculous. |

I have a 98 Outback I drive over a mountain through a place called Desolation twice a day. Right now we have about 3 ft of snow pack and its mostly a dirt road over the top.
I just got Some Perelli Scorpion ATR tires and I live the 90's commercial with Croc Dundee twice a day. Its no 140 on asphalt but its its own kind of Intense. I've thought of filming it many times But I would need an A-team bumper cam for proper effect. |

In the 60's, people took acid to make the world weird. Now the world is weird and people take Prozac to make it normal. As a reputed atheist, the reverential nature of his film was surprising, but Pasolini himself said &If you know that I am an unbeliever, then you know me better than I do myself. I may be an unbeliever, but I am an unbeliever who has a nostalgia for a belief.&

Quote:Check this thing out. An acid head's conception of a rotary batmobile.I don't understand why rotaries aren't used in racing more often. I have to admit I don't understand the more high-end engineering that comes into play with modern racing but the usual civilian trade-off for rotaries is fuel economy, which may or may not play into the racing situation. What impresses me though is that spark-ignition four-stroke cylinders create power over 90* of the crank, while rotaries operate over 270*. This means that your average "rotor" is equivalent to 3 fuckin' cylinders. Meaning that that batmobile is essentially using a 9-cylinder engine. Your RX7 is basically running a 3.9L V6 while actually running a 1.3L twin-rotor. Fascinating shit. It's just that that 1.3L is consuming fuel at a 3.9L rate, so to speak, so the average consumer is generally put off by that. It sounds bad, but it's just a misconception about the mechanics, IMO. But anyway, most of you car buffs probably knew that, but whatev. Peace. &We grow to recognize form. We grow to label that form. In doing so, do we become more intelligent? This means that your average "rotor" is equivalent to 3 fuckin' cylinders. In some aspects it's like more than a 6cyl. A single piston needs 2 turns of the crank for its 4 strokes. A single rotor needs one turn but that one turn spins the crank 3 times, not 2. The conservation of momentum is far superior. There's no parasitic losses such as cams and valves. There's no counterweights splashing through oil. (like running in knee high water) But you know all that. My fuel usage is on par with a 305ci p/u truck. |

It's a cool fuckin' engine man.
Anyone who can recognize that is a true car fan, IMO. Cheers. Edit: "true engine fan" &We grow to recognize form. We grow to label that form. In doing so, do we become more intelligent? Do we become more awakened?& - Siji Tzu 四季子 |
