And now a corporate apologist thread...
I will not take the blame for the invention and proliferation of petrochemicals, styrofoam, plastic, and all the other shit that is legitmately destroying the evironment. There is no question about who is at fault here. Because the sheep so easily accepted a bullshit version of environmentalism because the mainstream media chose to flout that particular bullshit is not about us being at fault. It's just the "sheep + elite" paradigm in motion again. So not one ConCen member should feel it is their fault that we are in the current pseudo-green position we find ourselves in; that said, not one member should not feel it is their responsibility to do what they can. The guilt though is absolute horseshit. &We grow to recognize form. We grow to label that form. In doing so, do we become more intelligent? Do we become more awakened?& - Siji Tzu 四季子 |

By buying products, by electing officials we are empowering those through choice First off I don't vote, but I get what you mean. Secondly, the masses were never given options for alternate technologies that clearly do exist. The thing is that if TPTB were to want people to jump off bridges they could and would concoct a plan to make people want it, because the masses have faith in the system, and doubt that the media or government would ever get them to do something harmful to them (via projection of their own ethics system and blind faith). I could list dozens of products and activities that the masses hurt themselves with because the media has told them to (directly or usually indirectly) and doesn't offer them all sides to the story (aspartame, anyone?). many good points by many on this thread. i'm not exactly sure where the corporate apologist stuff came from though. i know i surely don't intend to make any excuses for corporations and i haven't seen anyone else do that on this thread that i can recall. saying that.. who created corporations? hmm. surely it wasn't humans. lol. but anyway, i guess they were probably created with only the best intentions and somehow they morphed into something that seems to be out of control in some cases. and we are helpless and hold no personal responsibility now that that has happened.
the main reason i posted on this thread was because people were making it sound like there isn't an environmental problem. my first hand experience tells me there certainly is a problem. i think that the key word is sustainability and it's quite obvious to me that the path we are all on as humans on this earth does not seem to be all that sustainable. no guilt meant, no shame involved here. it's just what i see as me. no expectations for you to do anything about it. ultimately i hope i'm wrong and/or i hope something changes soon. who on earth can save us all from these dirty, no good, rotten scoundrel corporations? will corporations have to be fought by other corporations in order to restore order within the biosphere? will capitalism be the savior? maybe some corporations with some answers will come along and sweep all the humans off their feet into a grand ol save the earth and human existence, prosperity, freedom, dignity, justice campaign that blows out all of the corporations who only look to manipulate humans, hold power over humans, and destroy the ecosystem in the process. or something. faust, 666, Nyte, anyone else.. how bout we come up with some answers and start our own corporation that has a mission to restore some balance in some of these areas? ok, i'll stop rambling now. hopefully it's not all nonsensical bullshit. /// &its just like.. doood ya get the best barrels ever dood..

fucking tired about hearing about CARBON FOOTPRINTS
I wasn't trying to be a dick b love but this forum gets to me sometimes.
The corporate entity needs to be destroyed. Imagine dirty business people as thieves/thugs. What can one thief/thug accomplish? Certainly nothing society can't properly defend itself against. What happens when you get many thousand thieves/thugs working in collusion? Well, it leaves society defenseless. Corporations need to be disbanded. The corporate identity is a disease. I highly recommend watching the documentary The Corporation if you haven't already. It is really fascinating to learn the history of how we ended up with this Frankenstein's monster we call the modern corporation. I don't know if there is a simple solution to modern problems. We are living in a system that has essentially been built bureaucracy-style over many hundreds of years. It is like living in a house that was built over generations of haphazard and half-assed renovations. At some point you have to look at the place and say, perhaps this shit-hole just needs torn down and rebuilt, you know? It seems a bit presumptuous to say that only those with solutions deserve to criticize. I don't have a solution. How is one person supposed to resolve the collective blunders of billions of people stretched over hundreds of years? How is one person supposed to unravel the labyrinthine institutional structures upon which modern society is currently based? It doesn't take a full understanding of how to captain an ocean-liner to point at the imminent iceberg. &We grow to recognize form. We grow to label that form. Quote:where are the apologists here?Quote: And now a corporate apologist thread... We don't have to take the blame fella. As long as we use and buy these products in some shape or form, then we are no better than the corporations making them. It's easy to look the other way and say we're not to blame, but that would be creating an illusion at not accepting our responsibility in looking after mother earth.. Is sustainability bullshit then? What guilt? I don't see any guilt tricks here? Why would anyone feel guilty unless they looked upon the state as some sort of parental/guardian figure? That's almost like falling for the state's propaganda and reacting to the paradigm they are creating just for us and accepting their authority over you . Why be angry about it, their strategy has never changed... Quote:It seems a bit presumptuous to say that only those with solutions deserve to criticize. I don't have a solution. Quote:what i think about is fighting fire with fire. like fight back using the system's own rules. it's just something that continues to cross my mind. and it seems like there's gotta be a way. i don't have all the answers and i'm sure my idealistic intentions are just that many times but i tend to be one who will always hold hope as the shit heap continues to bare down. I contemplate this a lot as well, but I keep coming back to this point. The rules of the system are made by public officials bought by these corps and that frequently are on the corp boards. How can you beat them with the rules they have geared to benefit themselves and protect themselves from any fallout of their actions? Unless you break the rules, it can't be done. The game is rigged for the house. It's like gambling in Vegas. The game rules are made to benefit the house and you are screwed from the get-go. Unless you count cards, which they consider cheating, or work another not-so-legit angle, you can't win anything of note. The game is rigged for the house. The thinking and system rules that got us into this situation cannot get us out of it. I seem to be more and more leaning towards what Trip 6 said, that we need to tear the house down and start over with a different game plan. “Today’s scientists have substituted mathematics for experiments, and they wander off through equation after equation, and eventually build a structure which has no relation to reality. ” -Nikola Tesla "When the power of love overcomes the love of power the world will know peace." -Jimi Hendrix |

Time to stick a diesel engine in one of my cars and run it off biodiese I think... or maybe build a still and run it off of alcohol.
While both fuels have carbon, I'd really like to evade a tax on carbon...call it spite. |
