Climate Change 'Science'
I post because I noticed fellow ConCeners has not realized the conclusions and actions were decided long before the scientific studies were performed. Let's put this to rest once and for all.
The legal action taken against the fraud Gore has perpetrated is commendable and I hope they raise awareness because of it. He won't debate on the issue even if his $300,000 appearance fee is paid up front. I used to believe that CO2 was causing global warming at one point but I didn't get to the point of preaching it (thankfully) until I did my own research in math and checking where the data was originating from. I am now convinced that this is a mutation of the scientific process that is geared to influence policy and is being propagandized through the media and on the back of real environmental issues. The IPCC Report vs. 30,000 Scientists Here is a listing of the qualifications of the 30,000+ signatories of the petition: 1. Atmospheric, environmental, and Earth sciences includes 3,803 scientists trained in specialties directly related to the physical environment of the Earth and the past and current phenomena that affect that environment. 2. Computer and mathematical sciences includes 935 scientists trained in computer and mathematical methods. Since the human-caused global warming hypothesis rests entirely upon mathematical computer projections and not upon experimental observations, these sciences are especially important in evaluating this hypothesis. 3. Physics and aerospace sciences include 5,810 scientists trained in the fundamental physical and molecular properties of gases, liquids, and solids, which are essential to understanding the physical properties of the atmosphere and Earth. 4. Chemistry includes 4,818 scientists trained in the molecular interactions and behaviors of the substances of which the atmosphere and Earth are composed. 5. Biology and agriculture includes 2,964 scientists trained in the functional and environmental requirements of living things on the Earth. 6. Medicine includes 3,046 scientists trained in the functional and environmental requirements of human beings on the Earth. 7. Engineering and general science includes 10,102 scientists trained primarily in the many engineering specialties required to maintain modern civilization and the prosperity required for all human actions, including environmental programs. http://www.petitionproject.org/qualifica...igners.php The IPCC report does not include a concise breakdown but credits ~1200 people (I counted) vaguely described as scientists in the Working Group I Report "The Physical Science Basis" for their contributions and not necessarily their agreement with the conclusions. The rest of the numbers were in the following reports ... Source: http://www.ipcc.ch/pdf/assessment-report/a...wg1-annexes.pdf If you read this you do not see credentials but you do see affiliations sometimes as vague as Ohio State University, Colorado School of Mines or Heliophysics, Inc. It does not denote their position so many of these could be beaurocrats, administrators are CEOs for all we know without further research. Some are members of special interest and environmental groups and there is no reference to their degrees, work experience or qualifications. It needs to be stressed that these people were also hand picked by a government selection process and they are funded to the tune of $100,000,000 per year by participating governments and the UN dispersed the funding unilaterally to produce these results that the final policy report is used to spin these results. Once again they are contributors of the data not necessarily advocates of the modeled findings, the conclusions, impacts (that's in another dept.) or the world legislation (carbon tax). The data and results are then interpreted by the following three compartmentalized groups: Working Group II Report "Impacts, Adaptation and Vulnerability" Working Group III Report "Mitigation of Climate Change" The AR4 Synthesis Report .. or the policy recommendations All of these reports are published on the IPCC website. http://www.ipcc.ch/publications_and_data/p...ata_reports.htm In Canada (and probably every other country and state) the only report they refer to is the policy report (Summary for Policymakers) - 23 pages. The AR4 report is written by 40 authors, it is unknown how many of them participated in the and who they are directed by. Corrupt Data Samples To attack one front of the Climate Change agenda: the data used to generate IPCC reports. This data is used to create the report for policy makers and is often the sole document that governments take into consideration when forming climate change policy. It is incomplete and fails to take into account all factors sunspots, the fact man made C02 gets absorbed too, the ocean clouds' contribution to the greenhouse effect, urban warming effect, the fact the entire solar system is warming), The 350+ GT of C02 from other sources compared with the 18 GT/year humans produce (rotting biomass, volcanic activity ..) not to mention the 3,000 GT already in the atmosphere. Makes biased assumptions (aerosols' cooling factor is way overestimated, future C02 release -- consistent with today's output even though we are at peak oil). Graph and model manipulation/presentation (hockey stick graph among many others, 0.6 C scaling). And finally the fact the Global Climate Record data used is not verifiable and being denied public access for audit as I cite a telling state of affairs in the following.. Steve McIntyre of Climate Audit Canada contacted the Climactic Research Unit (CRU) of the University of East Anglia, the prime repository of the data that underlie the “overwhelming scientific consensus” in the Climate Science community. He requested the original raw data (the Global Climate Record) behind their temperature trend conclusions. He eventually got this response from Roger Pielke, Jr.: We are not in a position to supply data for a particular country not covered by the example agreements referred to earlier, as we have never had sufficient resources to keep track of the exact source of each individual monthly value. Since the 1980s, we have merged the data we have received into existing series or begun new ones, so it is impossible to say if all stations within a particular country or if all of an individual record should be freely available. Data storage availability in the 1980s meant that we were not able to keep the multiple sources for some sites, only the station series after adjustment for homogeneity issues. We, therefore, do not hold the original raw data but only the value-added (i.e. quality controlled and homogenized) data. Source: http://www.redstate.com/vladimir/2009/08/1...o-longer-exist/ http://www.theregister.co.uk/2009/08/13/cru_missing/ It's really hard to come to a solid conclusion with all of the different data sets out there but I managed to at least partially reconstruct the data independently. I worked with figures from NASA satellite data and ice core samples. Figures from pre-1970s from weather stations are not that reliable unless you filter out those that are in proximity to urban development, so I took my own slice of data of there. Russian samples were particularly suspect and supported the global warming theory as they recorded the biggest difference in climate change in the past century and were heavily weighted in the IPCC computer models. The reason they are not tangible is because these stations received upgrades in their heating systems over the years and were run, not by scientists, but by exiled citizens of the Soviet regime. Politics and corporate interest Carbon taxation will transfer the wealth of European and North American economies to be dispersed to world enforcement agencies according to their own plan. 150 countries will be exempt including India and China where a lot of these multi-national corporations have been shifting their businesses. Companies like Nike and Dell will not suffer from this carbon taxation, in fact they will gain market share with the eradication of their competition in small business and those who chose to operate in Europe and North America. The US Chamber of Commerce is currently opposing this move to ratify the treaty. The Chamber represents millions of small business interests, big business pulled out because this scheme would benefit their companies competitive edge via the loopholes in offsets, existing relationships with carbon traders and perhaps even the selective enforcement that has historically taken place. Carbon trading will create another bubble in the stock market for Wall Street (and the Chicago Climate Exchange) to manipulate, artificially inflate and take profits from like the dot com bubble, the mortgage bubble and the rise and fall of the 1929 stock exchange before it. The market has exhausted their supply of real assets to trade, so Wall Street created carbon and so it was done. They are directly on board with Cap and Trade along with their biggest investors. This doesn't just effect business. Besides the fact that the cost of everything will rise to pay for your carbon sins, it will also allow 'green' police into your homes for unconstitutional inspections, search and seizure. This will essentially create no opposition and quell any future nation from becoming powerful enough to confront the policy of the impending global governance and the corporate oligarchy. World governance is set to consolidate it's power from the Copenhagen legislation that is set to pass in Mid December. This plan was fathomed long ago, the conclusion was reached in advance then bought and paid for by biased funding practices. It was put into action by the IPCC and the UN, propagated by the controlled media and the science was corrupted by bad data, rigged computer models and deletion of many source findings to cover their tracks. No, I haven't blown my entire load yet I have the done the math, have a more articles and have compiled statistics - but this should be convincing enough for any naysayer. To end on a positive note: I've noticed the trend of a lot of people are coming around to wake up to the farce that global warming is lately. It's getting harder for the IPCC to defend and constantly adjust their findings, data and computer models no matter how much money is thrown at it. Hopefully the greenies will wake up and direct their efforts to toxic pollution, factory farming, genetically engineered foods, life patents, water privatization and the real causes of environmental destruction for human sustainability out there. Maybe they'll even dig a little deeper realize the systems, ideologies governments and corporations (all one in the same) are behind it and meet us on the other side before they get vaccinated, chipped and sterilized. Climate Change 'Science'
I need to follow this up with a rant.
Man Made climate change is complete and utter fallacy and manipulation from top to bottom. The data omission, the ignorance of factors, science exaggeration interpretation, bureaucratic spin, counterfeit consensus, preconceived conclusions, backpedaling and adjustment of data & conclusions, lack of transparency, corrupt computer data models, destruction and omission of historical records, misrepresentation of researchers, media bias, fear mongering, imbalanced funding and promotion, discretion tactics, indoctrination of our children, hijacking of real environmental issues, bribery on all levels, false impact studies, government leveraging of the peoples wishes and the ridiculous implementation and unilateral centralized solutions by an unelected body with the appearance of unanimous consensus proposed in the face of the people that don't want it and the science and scientists that does not represent what is best for the people. /rant A video that was made shortly after the 2007 IPCC report by Christopher Monckton summarizes the views of the 'deniers' very concisely. It was so profound and chalk full of evidence that is provoked British Parliament to modify the Al Gore presentation to remove 9 of the 35 lies passed off in the film that was shown to school children. Ironically, two days after the removal of the lies the IPCC and Al Gore were awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. Apocalypse? No! Climate Change 'Science'
Hope it may be overturned Gore's buckling in the sheer weight of the science? He's also addressing the skeptics in a soon to be published book not with science, but by blaming people’s own thoughts.
Let's pepper the media with this and not take the 'wait and see' approach before December 13-18th in Copenhagen to let them know that our governments do not represent our interests on the vote and we are not bound by that contract. Then when they come to check your fridge and stove for compliance and clock every mile you drive or try to shut down your business we can stand united in saying we did not agree to the legislation. Great posts FastTadpole, thanks for following up on this.

RE: Climate Change 'Science'
Thought I'd bump this pre-climategate thread since the legislation is not going away it's like it never happened.
Hopefully this institutionally backed names and quotes may wake up a few of the "AGW is a proven fact" stragglers to the reality of the situation. Here's some good ammo from scientists with long lists of credentials to break through those hold out zombies that still buy the AGW mantra after Climategate, The WWF Greenpeace Expose, The fraud at NASA, The urban heat blanket, The cherry picked data, the trail of money and the relationships between banks, investment firms, government, environmental groups, think tanks, the UN and well position ed corporate industry all coming to light. Even a legal verdict was suppressed with the all of the media and lower court whitewash. But the drumbeat of "Humans are the Plague of the Earth" still booms as evidenced by the plans revealed in the latest G20 document leak (see the leaked G20 Toronto document specifically). They didn't even look back out of their hummer as they drove over the public outcry and evidence like a zombie Israeli soldier would for a Palestinian kid in the Gaza Strip. "My first heresy says that all the fuss about global warming is grossly exaggerated. Here I am opposing the holy brotherhood of climate model experts and the crowd of deluded citizens who believe the numbers predicted by the computer models. Of course, they say, I have no degree in meteorology and I am therefore not qualified to speak. But I have studied the climate models and I know what they can do. The models solve the equations of fluid dynamics, and they do a very good job of describing the fluid motions of the atmosphere and the oceans. They do a very poor job of describing the clouds, the dust, the chemistry and the biology of fields and farms and forests. They do not begin to describe the real world that we live in. The real world is muddy and messy and full of things that we do not yet understand. It is much easier for a scientist to sit in an air-conditioned building and run computer models, than to put on winter clothes and measure what is really happening outside in the swamps and the clouds. That is why the climate model experts end up believing their own models." - Freeman Dyson Ivar Giaever, M.E., Norwegian Institute of Technology (1952), Ph.D. Theoretical Physics, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (1964), Engineer, Advanced Engineering Program, General Electric Company (1954–1956), Applied Mathematician, Research and Development Center, General Electric Company (1956–1958), Researcher, Research and Development Center, General Electric Company (1958–1988), Guggenheim Fellowship, Biophysics, Cambridge University (1969-1970), Oliver E.
