Warning about the gas in your homes
I have a place in Europe and in the lounge we have a real flame type gas fire and this year the glass on the outside became darkened and so we cleaned it after I checked that the chimney had not become blocked or anything.

Yesterday whilst cooking I notice a smell of paraffin much like you get from them old heaters found back in the 70’s

With gas prices going into orbit I suspect suppliers are mixing something in with the gas being pumped to some homes so watch out

9/11 was an inside job and the economy is going into meltdown so keep some spare food put by just in case justice is right.

Get it tested - you're paying for it after all - it could just be dirty nozzles...

err on the side of caution. The gas company will agree with you...

Yes i would agree if it just the fire but not with the cooker smelling of parafin.

i will see if i'm alone with this theory of mine because if they are doing what i say then others will notice it aswell.

Funnily enough I noticed this about 3-4 weeks ago. My oven started to give off very strong\acrid fumes, and yes it was very much like burning parafin. You could feel it in your chest and my eyes started watering.
I opened my windows and doors but it still took about an hour for the smell to go....I then left the gas on and kept the windows open hoping to 'flush' the sytem.....you could still smell it. The food tasted awful, straight into the bin.
Not happened since though.
I put it down to a local contamination of something, or because gas has no smell, they put the wrong additive in. Or maybe it was their 'right' additive....who knows....let the speculation begin!
If it happens again I'll let you know.
