In the 60's, people took acid to make the world weird. Now the world is weird and people take Prozac to make it normal. As a reputed atheist, the reverential nature of his film was surprising, but Pasolini himself said &If you know that I am an unbeliever, then you know me better than I do myself. I may be an unbeliever, but I am an unbeliever who has a nostalgia for a belief.&

film crew captures a levitation by an african shaman.
There is more than one way how this could have been staged. Note how the narrator says "no hidden support or (incomprehendible) to be seen." and then cites the German narrator who concludes "there is no question that this is a trick or an illusion" and that the film is "incontrovertible proof that levitation is indeed possible".
And then a second cameraman is seen filming his HANDS. Come on... |

Quote:Note how the narrator says "no hidden support or (incomprehendible) to be seen." He says "no hidden support or pulleys". Pulley: A pulley is a wheel with a groove between two flanges around its circumference. A rope, cable or belt usually runs inside the groove. Pulleys are used to change the direction of an applied force, transmit rotational motion, or realize a mechanical advantage in either a linear or rotational system of motion You don't even have to watch it to know it's a fake (the laws of physics, etc) but I did anyway. My conclusion after watching it didn't change - the film is a total fake. peace M.E |

you guys are such cynics

Quote:ok where do I sign up.Don't know if that was real or not but dam cool.ThanksYou can achieve the same effects by guzzling 2 pints of beer and propelling yourself with natural flatulation. Your money would be better spend by going to the pub instead of giving it away to a conman who'll teach you how to fart a lot. shZ - Minimal Tech Session v2.3 Style: Minimal, Techno, Tech House, Progressive House Download link: Minimal Tech Sessions v2.3 shZ - Minimal Tech Session v1.3 / The Journey to Here Style: Minimal, Techno, Tech House, Breaks / Progressive House, Minimal Tech House Download link: Minimal Tech Sessions v1.3 / The Journey to Here shZ - Lucid Perceptions (A New Beggining) / Psy Eclipse Style: Trance, Progressive Trance/House, Breaks / Psy Trance, Goa Trance, Trance Download link: Lucid Perceptions (A New Beggining) / Psy Eclipse |

RE: film crew captures a levitation by an african shaman.
Hi,
This video seems credible. Here are my two cents: The circle of fire is about 10-12 feet in diameter (assuming the shaman is 5-6 ft tall). You can see 5 feet more of the surrounding area when the 2nd cameraman comes for closeup. That makes for a total length requirement of 15-18 ft. The only way he could have been raised using a pulley would be to stretch 15-18 ft long cables overhead and attach them through a pulley to him. Then again, this is a public function (you can hear natives singing in the background). They would have seen. If he had been raised using a pulley, why did they stop at the short height of roughly 3 ft? Why not lift him really high, say 6 ft ? His body does not hang like it would have if hung from an overhead support. It slants to the sides many times. Would you believe if somebody claims to be a live conductor of electric current? He can light bulbs, run hotplates,....see it here: http://selfdeveloping.blogspot.in/2012/0...death.html |

RE: film crew captures a levitation by an african shaman.
It's well and good to try to logically say this is real, but one thing escapes my logic totally.
The main shot is a good camera shot, however, the one from the rear is all shaky and the exposure is all wrong. This kind of stuff is normal today due to cheap cameras inside everything, but in the film, that's a pro camera he's holding, and I'd have to say, to get all the way to africa with one of those things, at the time, you definitely would have to a. know how to dial in your gear, and b. film a steady shot. It's why the thing sits on a person's shoulder. I find that when you get questionable camera shit happening right where you would be able to see if it's a fake or not, then it's a fake. What kind of film crew is cool with poorly framed shit... none. Anyone would have zoomed out a bit or backed up... only thing is, that's probably when you would see whatever assemblage this guy is using to levitate himself. |

This same special effect was performed in "Evil Dead". Sam Raimi must have been a wizard.
