Listen to God
The man whispered, 'God, speak to me' and a meadowlark sang.
But, the man did not hear. So the man yelled, 'God, speak to me' and the thunder rolled across the sky. But, the man did not listen. The man looked around and said, 'God let me see you.' And a star shined brightly. But the man did not see. And, the man shouted, 'God show me a miracle.' And, a life was born. But, the man did not notice. So, the man cried out in despair, 'Touch me God, and let me know you are here.' Whereupon, God reached down and touched the man. But, the man brushed the butterfly away and walked on. The man cried, 'God, I need your help!' And an e-mail arrived reaching out with good news and encouragement. But, the man deleted it as spam and continued crying. &Alice laughed, &There's no use trying,& she said: &one can't believe impossible things.& &I daresay you haven't had much practice,& said the Queen. &When I was your age I always did it for half-an-hour a day. Why, I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast.& - Lewis Carroll &Things are seldom as they seem ... Skim milk masquerades as cream.& - Gilbert and Sullivan (Pinafore) At NASA, it really is rocket science, and the decision makers really are rocket scientists. But a body of research that is getting more and more attention points to the ways that smart people working collectively can be dumber than the sum of their parts. .. Listen to God
I thought it was nice so I posted it, but feel God (whatever God is) can and sometimes does give much more powerful supernatural signs. &Alice laughed, &There's no use trying,& she said: &one can't believe impossible things.& &I daresay you haven't had much practice,& said the Queen. &When I was your age I always did it for half-an-hour a day. Listen to God
Ya I noticed some very obvious signs myself. If you really want to witness a miracle, you have to believe in it first.

Listen to God
Funny you should post this. Yesterday, I was walking home from the store. While I was walking I was thinking about the overlord bastards and what they are doing and planning. I was thinking to myself, they cannot win. While I walk I have a habit of looking from side to side occasionally. As I was thinking, "God these bastards cannot win," I turned my head to find myself staring right at a bumper-sticker that simply said, "Pray." It kind of freaked me out to be honest. I've noticed synchronisities before, but never something that was a direct communication like that.

Listen to God
Quote:I didn't know you believed in God, interesting:). You always came across as a rationalist to me. Well, I've had experiences that rational thinking can't account for. Religions, generally, are used to lock people into rigid systems of thinking and are a control mechanism. But rationalism does the same thing. If something can't be explained in some formulaic way, then it doesn't exist. That is a very simplistic way of looking at things and reduces the universe to a very mundane mechanical process. Intuitively that doesn't feel right to me. So yes I believe in God, although what that means is a more difficult question. God's word is not to me something that is imparted through secret rights of indoctrination or through a book written up for some king in 1611, it is the direct feedback that people receive everyday from their personal experiences if they simply take the time to notice them. I think that there was a time when perhaps people were more tuned in to such things and that is why much of what religions speak of are lost on most people. Mankind's understanding of God (mine included) is quite primitive due to the fact that it has been misapplied as a tool of social control for so long. Unfortunately due to the misuse of religion, mankind's spiritual understanding has not developed at the same pace as our material understanding so we are more dangerous. I see mankind like a two-year-old wielding a pistol. I don't think the contemporary understanding of the monotheists are right, because they attribute human personality traits to God (such as anger, vengeance, pride, etc...) not unlike the polytheists did before them. But on the other hand I don't think the eastern philosophies have it quite right either that there is a balance of forces. After all if creation and destruction were equally favored there would be no existence, for example what if matter and antimatter existed in equal quantities? I also have difficulties with materialism's contention that this is all random coin flips, playing out mechanically with no awareness involved. I don't know what exactly that makes me, I just try to take the experiences that are put before me in my life and be guided by them as best I can.
