Barack Obama Using Covert Hypnosis In His Speeches

Is Barack Obama a brilliant orator, captivating millions through his eloquence? Or is he deliberately using the techniques of neurolinguistic programming (NLP), a covert form of hypnosis developed by Milton Erickson, M.D.?

A fundamental tool of “conversational hypnosis” is pacing and leading—a way for the hypnotist to bypass the listener’s critical faculty by associating repeated statements that are unquestionably accurate with the message he wants to convey.

In his Denver acceptance speech, Obama used the phrases “that’s why I stand here tonight,” “now is the time,” and “this moment” 14 times. Paces are connected to the lead by words such as “and,” “as,” “because,” or “that is why.” For example, “we need change” (who could disagree?)…and…that is why I will be your next President.”

Techniques of trance induction include extra slow speech, rhythm, tonalities, vagueness, visual imagery, metaphor, and raising of emotion. Hypnotists often have patients count. In a speech after the primaries closed, Obama said: “Sixteen months have passed (paused)…Thousands (pause) of miles…(pause)…Millions of voices….”

Hypnotists call this a distraction technique: sending the dominant hemisphere on an assignment involving linguistic processes, thus opening the nondominant hemisphere to suggestion.[...]

Yes you are quite right. (I am a registered hypnotherapist and practitioner trained in NLP.)

Having said that its no big deal as EVERY politician is trained in NLP and about 80% of all practicing managers in businesses have had some form of training in it.
Any salesperson (Im not talking about shopworkers) will have been shown NLP techniques during sales training too.
Its everywhere, counselling, negotiation etc etc its just \not called NLP.
So dont worry its quite normal for people in the public eye to use it

and for the record NLP is not hypnosis or a trance state, though some of the techniques mentioned can help to induce trance in a willing subject.
Be more afraid of an insurance or double glazing salesman who WILL use it against you!

For real attempts to trance you out, listen to the religious evangelistic types who use some very covert methods

These tactics are used every where. In sales training, public speaking training, etc. Nothing more then that. Like for example in sales. Instead of asking the customer if they want to add the accessory to their purchase, you ask them which one. That is just a small example. I have heard people thinking he is brain washing people and all kinds of junk. Getting a bit wild out there these days. LOL!!!

What worries is me is that Obama is creating a following with cult-like zeal much like the Cult of Hitler.
