I must agree wityh your comments on the UK press, you would think the massiah had returned.
Is it the same in US? This is scarey, he could do some bad, bad things in this atmosphere and sheep would go along with it. |

I agree the uk press has made it look like the messiah as returned, even my mum said she has a bad feeling about this as being a Christian he seems to be the Anti-Christ type she says.

Some think it's grand, some want to puke. Funny tho, I watched his speech and when he brought up "we will all have to make sacrifices" the cheering stopped. I overheard someone say yesterday - "It's going to be a black america now" I was hoping this might at least put and end to all the race BS. Guess it's just a new beginning. &Alice laughed, &There's no use trying,& she said: &one can't believe impossible things.& &I daresay you haven't had much practice,& said the Queen. &When I was your age I always did it for half-an-hour a day. But a body of research that is getting more and more attention points to the ways that smart people working collectively can be dumber than the sum of their parts. .. Irwin Janis? &Groupthink:& is a mode of thinking that people engage in when they are deeply involved in a cohesive in-group, when the members' striving for unanimity override realistic appraisals ? It is the triumph of concurrence over good sense, and authority over expertise.& -John Schwartz & Matthew L. Wade |

The Man Comes Around
the UK press wasnt all to keen on pres bush. thats a cert. The even the guardian invoked oswald asking "where are you now?"
bush was the one they wanted out. So i think they would have been OK with McCain:) Its just the Uk see's dems as the middle ground and the reps as right-wing nuts. And although they do have their share of people who just simply think that "tree huggers and liberals" are crazy socialist communists, they also have the real bigots firmly on their side. first black president? not in their party. UK and the press recognize this. As Colbert says, "reality has a liberal bias" |
