That's what this country is coming to. Complete governmental control while ignoring the laws in order to suit the whims of those in positions of power. It is so past the time for a revolution.....

I couldn't even comment on this when I first read it. It's so depressing. What the fuck are these people on to target the guy for having a mural of fish on his shop?? The world's gets more insane by the day, nowadays.
This story just made me feel like I just want to live in the hills with my kid and a other few people. leave the madhouse far far away. If I had the money to kickstart it, I'd do it tomorrow without any qualms. |

Unless he doesn't have the funds to push through with the case, he should have proceeded to court. He could have wound up owning the city.

You have to remember that Clearwater is a hot bed of Scientology. If the city allowed businesses to display images of what they sold, half the buildings in the town would be covered with bullsh*t.

heh, where did america go, are we playing hide and go seek, or is she gone for good &Alice laughed, &There's no use trying,& she said: &one can't believe impossible things.& &I daresay you haven't had much practice,& said the Queen. &When I was your age I always did it for half-an-hour a day. Why, I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast.& - Lewis Carroll &Things are seldom as they seem ... Skim milk masquerades as cream.& - Gilbert and Sullivan (Pinafore) At NASA, it really is rocket science, and the decision makers really are rocket scientists. But a body of research that is getting more and more attention points to the ways that smart people working collectively can be dumber than the sum of their parts. .. Irwin Janis? &Groupthink:& is a mode of thinking that people engage in when they are deeply involved in a cohesive in-group, when the members' striving for unanimity override realistic appraisals ? It is the triumph of concurrence over good sense, and authority over expertise.& -John Schwartz & Matthew L. Wade |

Quote:Unless he doesn't have the funds to push through with the case, he should have proceeded to court. He could have wound up owning the city. If the law truly said that murals cannot portray the items sold on the other side other the wall, how could he possibly lose the case even representing himself pro se? The onus would be on the city to prove he sold a fish, which they cannot prove. I myself wouldn't have wasted a dime on legal advice if I were him. There's no need for it. |

He does have the ACLU in representing him, though.
