I've got a non-Google email address linked to YT. Wasn't a problem. Beats giving out my private data to a corporation that has no need for it.. or, rather, that I have no need to give to it.
Asking why so many people still use YouTube and Google is like asking why so many people still use Facebook. It's popular, it's the place to go, and the world's full of followers. The day bandwidth becomes insanely cheap is the day YouTube dies I would suspect as nicely as MySpace has. Store your videos on a Web host server, stream them out with one of any number of generic plug-ins, and you're set. I'm looking forward to that day for certain. ---Truth appears in many forms.
