ConCen Wiki a monumental yawn!
OK so it looks like nobody gives a damn about the new wiki.
Quite frankly I'm surprised at the utter lack of reaction. If anyone can be bothered to comment on it, here be the place...

Me thinks it's supa-groovy
It's THE way to link up content from the and connect the dots. It has sooooooo much potential. We'll get out of it what we put into it. There are no others, there is only us. http://FastTadpole.com/ |

Considering that the vast majority of people on here have absolutely horrendous ratios and are supported by the few who give plenty of their bandwidth, I shouldn't have been surprised.

I can't get it to accept my forum name and password. I have no Tracker password.

RE: ConCen Wiki a monumental yawn!
Would any of the content on the wiki linked to in the sig I'm using be appropriate on this wiki? If so, what?

Quality Yeti... not quantity. I'm in agreement with tadpole 100%
First off... you rock for taking the time to put this together for us.... I know you've been working on it for some time now. Thanks for getting it done and providing ConCen with such a fantastic tool. Hat's off to you on creating this, and thank you. Secondly... I agree that something like this should be approached studiously, and needs time to get going... and I'm more then looking forward to it. *shrugs... No need for any disappointment.... I can't be the only one, nervous to stick my toes in the water either... on top of just being busy with general life. No yawning at all though. Chin up... The seed you just planted needs time to germinate and grow.

From what I've seen of your site, it's mostly links to other stuff, which is fine for the ConCen wiki (why reinvent the wheel?), but the main idea is original content. Certainly the concept of aggregating real solutions is a very good one. You could use your User:MasterChiefa page as a sandbox to play around with the wiki markup language and get a feel for it.

RE: ConCen Wiki a monumental yawn!
I think April summed up the situation superbly. No need to rush, give it some thought, if it is to be a useful tool it can't be constructed of short sighted narrow minded garbage.
@shortwave - I use one name and one password for all three log ins, it makes it simpler. I couldn´t log in either - my accounts have had the same username and passwords since I joined. It´s a great development though... This place is becoming an Alexandrian Library.

Also unable to log in, and I have same user name/password for both the tracker and forum. Will check back though.

I already have two passwords, one for the tracker and one for the forum...and now need another for wiki too? ...(need more coffee).......) The wiki will definitely come in handy as a help and FAQ section to clean up common misconceptions like one that you have: You do not need multiple usernames and/or passwords to use all the parts of ConCen. I have written much code behind the scenes that integrates the various parts of ConCen. While doing this, because of the fact that I'm using other people's software which I need to be able to update (wiki, forum), I'm limited to modifying the tracker code or writing new stuff (the tracker code was so bad I had to heavily modify it beyond the point where updates would work. I attempted to give the updated code to the author but he ignored me). As a result, most of the login/logout glue code is integrated into the tracker. When logging into the tracker your password is checked against the forum database password and the tracker database password. If it matches one but not the other, it will copy that password to the other database. IOW, using the tracker login automatically syncs up your passwords (this will also be true when I write the integrated login). I have added another major piece to the mix: a central directory. Now when logging out of and back into the tracker, if you have synchronised tracker/forum username/email, an entry in the central directory is created with the same username/email/password. It is this entry which will allow you to log into the wiki and all the other parts of ConCen which will be much easier to integrate now that I'm using the central directory.
