ConCen & communication breakdown.

I suppose this topic will mean little to any new members or casual readers here, but to the the old-schooler's who've
stuck it out through thick and thin, I've got something I'd like to say to you, Tom (yeti) and the rest of the staff.

The blame for recent upheavals in ConCen lies squarely on my shoulders. It's a rather long story and I wont get into
details too much, but long story short, I let a couple lingering comments by Tom play games in my head, and being
the mental nutjob I can be, I always thought the worst. This thought in my head had me avoiding him when I saw him
on the forum or tracker. The more I avoided him, the more I became embroiled in the FUD in my mind. It was a vicious
circle it really was. I literally feared (not physically) the man over the absolute power he holds on the sites....and then let my imagination
run wild.

I sent Tom an email to this effect today with an apology and that was a massive weight off my shoulders.
He responded with an Irony I can't help but see it for what it is...

The last sentence really got me thinking... I wont deny the element of truth. It was all in my head.

Anyway, there you have it. People like joeblow will gobble this up in "conspiracy gossip show land",
and once again he will probably attack me again for sharing too much of my inner thoughts and private
life. Thanks for the free advertising Joe. :DAll it shows is that I'm the most honest, open and from the
heart webmaster you could ever know, and I openly admit my faults.

As for structure of ConCen, Tom's still root and host, I'm back as root, and April will remain treasurer.
Running the site and handling the money is a conflict of interest so it's not a duty I want back. It also
insulates me and Tom from any copyright issues since there's no way to profiteer from ConCen.

I have taken all monies through PayPal and forwarded them on to Tom firstly to pay server arrears,
then to April's PayPal to continue on with the funds. I have invited April to view my PP records as
someone I can trust with my financial info to perform an open audit. Obviously I don't want her plastering
my financial details all over the internet, but there's no reason why she couldn't go back in time 6 months or
so and compare the monies sent to my bank, Tom for server services rendered, and what I've paid back myself
through my credit card.

Though I have been too busy to view the current movie adaptation ...

... ConCen's moderators have always reminded me of the superheroes in the Alan Moore/Dave Gibbon graphic novel WATCHMEN.

Larger than life ...

... very human.

ConCen has had a much bigger global impact than any of us can possibly imagine ...

... and the past and present moderators have been a large part of that impact.

And you, Ctrl, have been a large part of the networking that happens on this site.

Do make friends with your self, Mike ...

... like the superheroes of WATCHMEN, all of us can profit from yeti's wise words.

All of us need periodic breaks from the "ramparts" to re-acquaint ourselves ...

... with ourselves.

It's all good Mike. Glad your back...and dont sweat it. We all have faults. Not one of us is perfect or even completely sane at all times. With everything going on it's almost abnormal to not have some kind of breakdown every once in a while.
It means you care - it means you give a shit. That should count for something in a world where most people dont.
My father always warned me about being my own worst enemy. It took many occasions of self-sabotage and stupid irresponsible choices to realize exactly what he meant before I was able to make a conscious change.
You admit your faults, and thats more than most can even handle. Some people never think they're wrong. I for one, am happy you're not one of those assholes.

People who do not run public websites, trackers, in particular, do not understand the stresses and pressures they create. It is immense, and, many times, the the traits of intelligence, thoughtfulness, and caring on the parts of the staff that made the site successful and popular are the same traits that end up taking their toll.

There's money, ratio issues, upload and download issues, n00bs arguing that the entire bittorrent continuum should change to match their browsing habits, people bitching that they can't find any porn, and the ever present security concerns that make staffers wonder if it is all worthwhile.

It is. You guys do yeoman's service here at ConCen, and I am really glad that it is working out.
