Making allowances...

Making allowances...
I recently had an upload removed, "Virtual Egypt," because it is a program. While I completely understand that there are rules and guidelines set in order to keep ConCen as streamlined and user-friendly as possible I think certain allowances should be made. Using the above-mentioned upload as an example, if one were to purchase the Magical Egypt set Virtual Egypt would be included in the series. In these cases it should be allowed on ConCen. You could modify the rule so that such application must accompany the set it belongs to so as to avoid stand alone apps sneaking by.
I take satisfaction that with a couple of exceptions my ups are still being downloaded, I finally crested the 1.0 ratio mark, and now I want to increase my stars. These are only matters of personal pride and have no real-world application but it really "harshed my mellow" to see my warning level go from "no" to "yes." Now there is a mar on my otherwise neat and tidy account.
I hope that this rule can be changed so future members won't suffer as I have. <---spoken with fececiousness!
Seriously, though, surely a common ground can be found.

RE: Making allowances...
The rule is there to actually stop malicious software and uploads more than anything else. Such applications can easily be hosted externally and linked to in the relevant uploaded material, or a thread made here on the forum under the forum for such material:

Quote:http:// ftp:// ed2k:// & p2p
Reviews for News, Torrent, Databases, Directories, Aggregators and other Resource Websites of all Protocols.

It has been this way for many years, with no issues, and at a guess will remain so.

If your upload in your opinion is worth people getting hold of, then I'd suggest making a new .torrent from it after adding the open tracker to it:
udp://tracker.publicbt.com:80/announce
udp://tracker.openbittorrent.com:80/announce

Then, make a post on the above linked forum with the .torrent file added. Now you can start seeding and wait for leechers. The thread with the attachment will tell you how many times your attachment (in this case a .torrent file) has been downloaded.

Ensure you don't have "private torrent" selected for this to make sharing easier.

Example below:

Attached File(s)
.torrent  Example.txt.torrent (Size: 510 bytes / Downloads: 15)

RE: Making allowances...
Ahhh, just goes to show I have much to learn still. Public trackers, private trackers...this is all still pretty new ground for me and I thank you for your patience. I stand corrected as it is clear that an option is provided.
