Reporting a story titled "Obama's Israeli, Palestinian Surprise," CBS' Reid removed words from the President's mouth to alter the meaning of the consistent U.S. position on the peace process:

President Obama spent most of his speech talking about the Arab Spring uprisings, but he saved his biggest surprise for the Middle East peace process. [START OBAMA CLIP] "We believe the borders of Israel and Palestine should be based on the 1967 lines." [END OBAMA CLIP] But by using the borders that existed in 1967 before the Six Day War as the starting point for negotiations, the President is taking the Palestinian side on a key issue.

Sadly for CBS, President Obama did no such thing. Instead, in his speech Obama offered an unremarkable summary of the path forward:

"So while the core issues of the conflict must be negotiated, the basis of those negotiations is clear: a viable Palestine, a secure Israel. The United States believes that negotiations should result in two states, with permanent Palestinian borders with Israel, Jordan, and Egypt, and permanent Israeli borders with Palestine. We believe the borders of Israel and Palestine should be based on the 1967 lines with mutually agreed swaps, so that secure and recognized borders are established for both states. The Palestinian people must have the right to govern themselves, and reach their full potential, in a sovereign and contiguous state."

RE: CBS Edits Obama Speech to Stir Israel Controversy
Any way, it is something to ponder for the misled people who think that Israel controls the US ("AIPAC", blah blah) or that the Zionists control president Obama, as it has actually led to frictions between US and Israel state officials already, as has been reported by major press organs world wide. But I guess this too will be filtered and rationalized away by those people so that the own belief system does not have to be challenged. Just like the almighty (knuckle-cracking in front of Obama) Rahm Emanuel being a mere footnote in history by now.

Washington (CNN) -- President Barack Obama on Thursday made official the long-held but rarely stated U.S. support for a future Palestinian state based on borders that existed before the 1967 Middle East war.

In the past, the United States has unofficially backed a two-state solution to the Israel-Palestinian conflict based on the borders in place prior to the war 44 years ago in which Israel seized the West Bank, Gaza Strip, Golan Heights and Sinai Peninsula.

Quote:Obama to Israel: Give back seized land

WASHINGTON -- U.S. President Barack Obama on Thursday endorsed a key Palestinian demand for the borders of its future state and prodded Israel to accept that it can never have a truly peaceful nation based on "permanent occupation."

Obama's urging that a Palestinian state be based on 1967 borders -- before the Six Day War in which Israel occupied East Jerusalem, the West Bank and Gaza -- was a significant shift in the U.S. approach. It drew an immediate negative response from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is to meet with Obama at the White House Friday.

Prime minister’s associate slam US president’s speech, says ‘he didn’t deliver the goods,’ fails to understand Mideast realities. Israeli PM prepared for confrontation with Obama over vital issues, Netanyahu’s aides say.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s associates expressed their disappointment with Barack Obama’s speech Thursday, with one aide saying that the US president is detached from regional realities.

The PM’s associates told Ynet early Friday that Netanyahu, who departed to the US Thursday night, is prepared for a confrontation withPresident Obama on vital issues.

It's as simple as that: either the Zionists fully control the US/Obama administration, or they do not. If they do you would expect the US trying to pull the Palestinians over the table wherever they could, never ever touching on obvious political interests of Israel like the settlements. Point taken.

We saw similar things with Joe Biden and Hillary Clinton – and any other major NWO faction out there – putting pressure on Israel, but these things are constantly ignored in favour of a certain belief system that prefers to filter out anything that doesn't fit in.

That does not mean of course that Obama does not have to make sure he secures the 2% Jewish votes which constitute the danger of tipping the scales whenever it is time for the vote.

Quote:"In a widely publicized letter to Israel's ambassador to Germany, Norbert Bluem, a former labor minister under Chancellor Helmut Kohl, described the Israeli offensive as a "war of annihilation" - the very term employed by Adolf Hitler to describe the 1941 invasion of the Soviet Union. And Juergen Moellemann, deputy chairman of the liberal Free Democrats, a likely coalition partner in the next German government, said of Palestinian violence, "I would resist too, and use force to do so," adding that would apply "not just in my country but in the aggressor's country as well." Such deliberately provocative language was once taboo outside far-right and far-left circles here. And some observers view the political mainstreaming of anti-Israeli sentiment as more than an immediate response to the crisis, but a deeper expression of Germany's desire not to be shackled by history as the unified republic assumes a greater role on the world stage."
