Wow.... thanks for this....
I've been looking for some rare material lately and have found a lot of it there, and only there. |

RE: Google Video Closing Down (All content WILL be lost) on 29th April 2011
Thanks Dunamis - meant to post about this here. I figured everyone got the Email if they were content contributors but then there are many who might go to check an old bookmark one day and give a great big WTF?!
They're consolidating videos with YouTube model of 15 minute clips for those poor saps of generation shagged and tagged with with ads, micro payments, paid premium content memberships, profit sharing for a slice of their life and all that fun stuff. Here's a few of my Google Video bookmarked vids that I haven't gotten around to watching yet. They might be elsewhere but best I post them now so ppl have a chance to watch or DL them via online video download tools such as savevid or keepvid. Yakoana - The Voice of Indigenous Peoples (1997) http://video.google.ca/videoplay?docid=2...ous&hl=en# Exploring Life Extension http://video.google.co.uk/videoplay?doci...541483047# Ibogaine - Rite of Passage http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=...049949470# Iron Mountain Blueprint to Tyranny Full RARE Video http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=...652553091# From the Wilderness - The CIA Connection http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=...917866364# The Doctor, the Depleted Uranium, and the Dying Children http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=...681767408# auroville.mov http://video.google.de/videoplay?docid=9...auroville# The U.N. Deception http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=...474212867# The New American Century .mpg http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=...788792499# Recalled Zeitgeist Edition http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=...2995115331 Free For All http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=...419703198# George Hunt - UN UNCED Earth Summit 1992: The Dark Side of the Sustainable Development Movement http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=...0554799808 Most of these are likely up on the tracker or available but I found it easiest just to throw them all up for now as it was easiest for me. Personally, I don't endorse all of them many were actually bookmarked to debunk but I'll leave that for the individual to sort out. This impacts video aggregation sites like topdocumentaryfilms.com since they stream a lot of their content off of Google Video. We do a lot of embedding of Google Video here at ConCen too. Should be interesting to see where longer content migrates and what Google/YouTube does to accommodate this if it does anything at all with it's massive servers and private pipeline. Guess Google PR thinks that we/they can't call it censorship and pin the Google is Evil badge if they just upgrade, mass deletion or lose a thwack of content in the migration (see The Digg v4 "Upgrade"). RE: Google Video Closing Down (All content WILL be lost) on 29th April 2011
I'll keep bumping this until the close down date, I think people can understand why. I have been getting things gradually.
![]() ![]() ........................................................................................................................![]() ![]() ![]() If you have ANY bookmarks and cannot get them yourself, at least let post the titles and urls so others can try getting as much as possible. ![]() ![]() ........................................................................................................................![]() ![]() ![]() I keep running blanks for search queries now that I've downloaded a fair amount. We should look especially for things not found elsewhere, as there is a LOT of stuff there and people have relied on google to host it, rather than saving it 'just in case'. Now the time is short! "He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked." -- 1 John 2:6
"Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly... This is the interrelated structure of reality." -- Martin Luther King Jr. "He that answereth a matter before he heareth it, it is folly and shame unto him." -- Proverbs 18:13 "Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing himself." -- Leo Tolstoy "To love is to be vulnerable" -- C.S Lewis The Kingdom of God is within you! -- Luke 17:20-21 https://duckduckgo.com/ |

RE: Google Video Closing Down (All content WILL be lost) on 29th April 2011
I've flagged a few the videos on topdocumentaryfilms in this thread that are embedded via Google Video for the archive project.
If they aren't on the tracker already - maybe they should be to preserve access. There are no others, there is only us. http://FastTadpole.com/ |

Google Video only since they own YouTube now they can save bandwidth overhead, deployment, maintenance and administrative costs by pushing user created video content under their YouTube banner. There are many links at http://www.trueworldhistory.info that link to google video. That would be a good place for people to start if they want to start d/l'ing from google vid, but have forgotten video titles, ect.

RE: Google Video Closing Down (All content WILL be lost)
Seems she's still up -- didn't hear about them extending the deadline or anything - maybe a grace period.
Still - It could be shut down any day now. Take this opportunity to archive what you can and up it to the tracker if you like. Use an online program like keepVid or whatever suits your fancy to archive the videos. There are no others, there is only us. http://FastTadpole.com/ |
