Another possibility but this one hits on quite a few clues from Plato's text on the subject of Atlantis. This time near the mouth of Spain's Guadalquivir River, northwest of the present-day city of Cadiz.
The discovery was made by a team of Canadian scientists led by Alberta geophysicist Paul Bauman and in a venture funded by the US. The marshland area lies close to Straits of Gibraltar, which scholars have generally identified as the "Pillars of Hercules" that were noted by Plato in his description of the location of Atlantis. I had read of this first a few days ago in Winnipeg Free Press print edition March 14, 2011 A8, here's the web link but the article linked by pax681 (Reuters) is shares more details. A TV presentation of this and other findings is airing this Sunday, March 20th, on "Finding Atlantis," a new National Geographic Channel special. Mentioning Atlantis isn't so taboo anymore and the name is being dropped regularly in the mainstream as of late. It does create hype and maybe attracts more funding than it would have absent the moniker. Whatever the case it's a interesting find considering the unique geographical formations in Spain. Another interesting satellite find was made back in February of this year using the Google Ocean Exploration tool off the Northwest Coast of Africa dubbed as yet another possible "Atlantis" citing a rectangular undersea grid formation. Atlantis has been discovered ... again!
Quote:Atlantis discovered?http://www.thedailystar.net/newDesign/ne...nid=193825 Always interesting to find these lost land masses especially one as old as this one is. Hopefully some honest archaeologists and geologists get to this before the information scrub team gets into this one. There are no others, there is only us. http://FastTadpole.com/ |

RE: New Atlantis Possibility in Spain; North Atlantic ...
.. and now another 'Atlantis' near Scotland.
Quote:Doggerland, northern Europe's own lost city of Atlantis, discovered off ScotlandPhotos + Source: http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-205_162-5746...-scotland/ View the Full Photo Gallery » http://www.cbsnews.com/2300-205_162-10012824-1.html I'll append this comment to my post as it is somewhat entertaining in calling out that subtle reference to "rising sea levels" by the CBS correspondent. K_a_r_p_y Wrote:This was no ordinary "flood", as floods and tsunamis tend not to be permanent. Therefore, should we assume the indigents owned SUVs generating planet warming gases? Is it possible these folks may have been the first enlightened adherents to the religion of Global Warming? Perhaps ff they known about taxes, they might have saved their society by taxing themselves into poverty. The money would be presented to their King and Queen, and enable them to play golf, go on endless vacations, and have lavish, opulent parties in their free Castle. We are told that taxes will save us from a similar plight, so surely it would have saved them as well. There are no others, there is only us. http://FastTadpole.com/ |

RE: New Atlantis Possibilities in Spain; North Atlantic, Scotland ...
Heres my take on the latest 'Atlantis' bullshizz!
The only thing that gets me is it seems to be ignoring the obvious that britain broke off from the continent of europe and we can clearly see that by cutting out france and britain from a map and piecing the puzzle together. What they are showing by their maps is land mass connecting where there was no land atall and by this I mean not the land they are presenting! so the findings could just be old ruins from when the break up of britain first occured and these are simply the ruins of when britain was joined and at a totally different angle from the tip of the baltics to the bottom of where france is situated. Have a look at this map and you will see what I mean, https://www.lib.utexas.edu/maps/world_ma...2008-2.jpg (make sure to click on it to enlarge) Another point to note is you can see from the map where the shifts have occured just like once upon a time south america was connected to africa but these people dont seem to be showing the obvious. Here is the land mass they are presenting, http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2012/07/0...34x532.jpg Oh I guess anyone can make their own land mass these days and ignore the totally obvious, even in this map you can see where britain had shifted and broke away from europe. Other crap here http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/a...z1zmLglMWy In your face bullshit. Happy days. ~ Veritas Vos Liberabit ~ |

Add Brazil to the list.
Quote:Brazilian Atlantis discovered?http://news.msn.co.nz/worldnews/8654527/...discovered Atlantis or nay; humanity is, no doubt, far far older than we've been led on to believe. @Shinobi The legend of Atlantis could have been referring to only Ireland. Old maps have shown it depicted far far bigger. There are no others, there is only us. http://FastTadpole.com/ |
