WACO Massacre - Why did Koresh keep the children in?
For those of you who looked at the Waco incident in a skeptical way, I have a question for you: For what reason, in your opinion, did David Korech keep the children inside the buiding.
Did the Davidians really think the children were gonna be shot by the BATF agents or were they just used as hostages? Or was it just the fact that the Davidians wanted the children with them in heaven? |

His last name is Koresh, BTW. I updated the thread title so people can find it in a search. According to eyewitnesses, Koresh allowed anyone who wanted to, to leave. Only a few did. I'm assuming the childrens' guardians decided for them.

Honestly the ATF probably would have shot the kids.

It's probably because of the 'prophecy being fulfilled' and that kind of stuff. (12-21-2010 10:00 AM)psilocybin Wrote: Honestly the ATF probably would have shot the kids. But they didn't shoot the people who went out, children and adults. |

You've not really made it an open question, have you? What of it was simply this, the kids were afraid and wanted to remain with their parents. Also, would you entrust your kids to the care of "the state" so easily if the state same to attack you for your views and/or beliefs? Can't help but always be reminded of this song (from my angry days) when on the topic of the Waco disaster: Just thought, I bet mosh pits are good practice for heavily policed protests! This is the interrelated structure of reality." -- Martin Luther King Jr. "He that answereth a matter before he heareth it, it is folly and shame unto him." -- Proverbs 18:13 "Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing himself." -- Leo Tolstoy "To love is to be vulnerable" -- C.S Lewis The Kingdom of God is within you! -- Luke 17:20-21 https://duckduckgo.com/ |

Yes, the way that the people of the government dealt with that matter was unconstitutional and criminal in many instances but that's already agreed upon. It's not logical to argue about something already agreed upon! But if I were to choose between that and their death... But did they have a choice? I don't know. Somebody wants me to think that way but I don't know if it's true or not. |

I'm not sure why but I side with Dunamis when he said the children were possibly afraid and wanted to stay with their adult guardians.
If there must be trouble, let it be in my day, that my child may have peace. -- Thomas Paine |
