Threaded Mode | Linear Mode

I guess I missed whatever happened to create this new union. I think the new flow of forum members could be a great thing. The surge of torrent requests and torrent comments is overwhelming. Is this really neccessary? Can I opt out or ignore them? Hitting view new posts is about worthless for catching up to forum content now. I know I wouldn't be a big loss to the community if I stopped coming, but I'm curious if anybody else dislikes the new setup.

The merger is not yet complete. I'm sure yeti will be tweaking things into place for a little longer. Possibilities still await. Smile

I would like the current set up better if torrent comments had their own page too. I'm not anywhere near up to speed on php coding yet so yeti would have to bring that work around into existence. I will put the question to him.

I definitely need to make some mods to the forum software. Unfortunately it is not as easy to mod as the tracker because I basically took over the tracker software - it is so riddled with my mods it is no longer upgradeable.

I don't want to do the same to the forum software because I want to keep it upgradeable. However there is a plugin system which I can use to make mods and still keep it upgradeable.

I will need to learn how to make a plugin before I integrate the tracker as a plugin, so I might as well do a few plugins first. My initial plugin will be a filter system so that we can choose which forums we want to include or exclude from the "new posts" and "today's posts" links.

Thanks for not stompin on my thread Yeti! I've been patiently checking for updates/answers. I look forward to whatever the fix might be.

A note to others---> In the meantime when I've been hitting view new posts, I then sort by forum. It isn't chrono anymore but all the torrent comments etc are grouped together and the original forums are easier to see and catch up on.
