At least some of the drama queens aren't commenting now. Some people really miss the point of why ConCen exists sometimes. This is not an entertainment venue. ConCen isn't a place for you to have dramatic, bitchy or moronic outbursts. This community is NOT a place to insult others and attempt to pervert the path of those seeking truth.

This IS a place for us to seek refuge, from the masses of drones who would have our freedom of speech stifled. This is a place for us to all share information, ideas and opinions. I come here to have great conversations, as well as upload and download info. Let's all work together to ensure the future of this community serves these purposes.

Yeti said I along with a couple others were losers and little girls for saying things about fat boy he didn't like and that's why I flamed at him, and he deserved it.

I just posted a opinion about fat boys videos vs his radio show and Yeti dropped down out of nowhere and went off on everybody.

He needs to lay off the booze and get a grip or something?

Either way it's no hair off my ass and I can up my stuff to a site not run by a name calling flake!

reading the comments on most torrents on the tracker almost always made me wish I hadn't and mourn the time lost , wishing I had spent it elsewhere. It was helpful in the fact that you could ask the uploader questions or urge seeding, but there was so much sanctimonious crap and proselytizing that it was a pain in the ass to have to use it for that.

I am a little worried about what this type of thing means as to the future tenor of the site, though. The general mood seems to have changed since the last dust-up and people seem less inclined toward discussion. It's more like a bulletin board than a discussion forum these days. I'm OK with it as long as there's still the same attitude toward free speech here at the forum, but an added layer of disenfranchisement is probably not what's needed right now.

I will include such person maybe a new member called watchwoman AKA international banker as she says she is calling all irish people drunks and idiots in a comment from her in relation to my upload. my point is why the fuck would she be in the comment-thread in the first place if she didn't like it. then i get thick and start giving out to her when i should be concentrating on my next upload.

this is whats messing up alot of torrent uploads, as sometimes you have to spend time transcoding in the best format to suit everyone then upload the file and the uploaders most of the time which i have seen have got nothing but dogs abuse from people for no reason. basically the days are gone hunting trolls they either have to be in some way warned/banned/and banned permenantely if it keeps up because concen has had some serious amounts of newcomers lately and the more people the more work in dealing with complaints and abuses. so the only way for a site to work properly in this case is to employ more people to moderate or integrate some system security that will make it harder for ip masking attempts from banned people.

if you think i'm talking shit then say so. either way i never cared what people say most of the time because everyone has their own opinion.

There's no solid evidence that concen has been compromised, but banning people for "trolling" is censorship so it's obvious that this site isn't very good anymore. Whether it's yeti's ego or something more sinister doesn't really matter, the site just went to shit.

I would recommend using these sites instead:

They might not have as big of a user base right now, but once people realize concen is censoring shit people will be looking for alternatives.

Nope. The forum uses a different login process than the tracker.

IMO as long as trolls are allowed to troll, that is what would cause the downfall of any forum.

Personally I will miss the helpful comments, but I also understand the damage those relatively few trolls can and do cause.

Don't say "Well IP ban them", because they invariably have created their accounts with a proxy... It is part of their method of operation.

Is it censorship ? Nope. Not in my opinion.

Was it a tough decision for Yeti ? Absolutely.

No one can appreciate that fact until they run their own forum and it is invaded by trolls... or worse.

...you can't beat me I got banned 12 times, all different accounts...in one day...wasn't pleasant, yes with 12 email accounts, I think that was enough to learn to be more...thorough-thinking, so to speak.

The wish has been for a LONG TIME, to move all the tracker details over to the forum anyway. There is better control for all users, better ease of use by way of the user CP and search capabilities. This has been in the pipeline, as most users should know from past announcements left up for weeks on the tracker. There are many reasons that make sense, namely torrent commenting dying once it goes off the main tracker page, can you really not see the great advantages?

The reason for the delay is simply a change in MyBB, that means editing the code for integration of the tracker info in no longer a viable option. But commenting, that can be moved.

Now, if some are here just to cause discord, in fighting or general chaos they can more easily be dealt with through the forum system. This of course enables those of us here to learn, hear different perspectives and opinions of a plethora of subjects can do so with more ease, less drama and far less playground antics.

This will, as time will show, bring more and more of the silent majority out to comment, because they will no longer be put off out of fear of being attacked for their view, opinions or as I have seen time and time again, simple newbie questions.
