Ronni Chasen and her assasination
I have to call it that as its no accident she died.

There was a reason but what?

judging from early, perhaps too early reports, she was shot 5 times in the chest. the anomoly is that she was shot from the passenger window, or at least by the fact that said window is broken.

what im asking is did she get hit anywhere else? if not why not?

straight to the chest? that would mean a frontal assault not from the side, she would of least had arm or shoulder hits.

Its early days but im just picking at loose ends. not exactly a typical hollywood murder.

She seems to have been in the know with a lot of movers and shakers. Is this some secret society thing? jilted lover? seems a bit much for that.

This is a high profile case with very little media coverage for such a thing. but as i say, early days. usually the talking heads would go wild over this.

RE: Ronni Chasen and her assasination
Quote:They had focused on the likelihood of a contract killing but now believe she could have been shot dead in an argument with a stranger as she drove along Sunset Boulevard on Nov 16.

A suspect in the case, who shot himself in the head as he was about to be arrested on Wednesday, was identified as Harold Martin Smith, a former convict in his 40s who had served time for firearms and drug offences.

Smith's neighbours in a run down area of Hollywood described him as "strange, crazy and weird," and suggested he may have been suffering from mental illness or on drugs.

telegraph.

Now im wierded out. this is now classic. I was speculating if it were a high end killing there would be some "crazy nut job" framed.

road rage? 5 to the chest? anyone find anything about the post-mortem/autopsy?? I want to know where she was hit exactly.

it goes on

Quote:Neighbour Terri Gilpin said: "He was like a loose screw, a loose cannon waiting to blow."

Miss Chasen's brother, the film-maker Larry Cohen, told the Showbiz411 website: "I'm sure it was road rage. I'm sure it was some kind of random thing."

He dismissed rumours the killing could be linked to a relative's gambling debts.

"I don't play poker. I don't gamble. My two daughters don't gamble," he said.

It also emerged that Miss Chasen left $6.1 million (£3.9 million) in her will, which was drawn up in 1994.

Much of it went to her niece Melissa Cohen, and she specifically left only $10 (£6.40) to another niece Jill Gatsby. They are Mr Cohen's daughters.

The will said: "I have intentionally and with full knowledge of the consequences omitted to provide for my niece, Jill Cohen, also known as Jill Gatsby, except for the gift of $10."

A week ago Miss Gatsby, a film-maker and songwriter, posted a video of herself on YouTube singing an emotional song called "Shining" in memory of her aunt. She has not commented on the will.

Beverly Hills Police were led to Smith following a tip from a member of the public to the America's Most Wanted television show.

Smith had boasted to neighbours of a "$10,000 windfall" but police believe that related to a civil lawsuit, not a payment for the killing.

why do i feel like Jill Gatsby has nothing to do with this?

Quote: except for the gift of $10
almost stated in a way to make her smile. If she was doing it in a mean spirit, why leave that 10 bucks. its a personal joke i think.

This is me swinging wild at this....This is such an odd event.

LA times....

Quote:'America's Most Wanted' tip helped lead Ronni Chasen detectives to suspect, host says

The host of the Fox series “America’s Most Wanted,” said he believed a tip provided by his show helped lead Beverly Hills police to confront a man in the slaying of Hollywood publicist Ronni Chasen.

John Walsh said in an interview that he was unable to provide specific details about the tip but said Beverly Hills investigators acted quickly on the information, although he was unable to give the precise timing.

“I believe they responded to a tip that we had passed on. BHPD reached out to us,” Walsh said. “We have been working closely with Beverly Hills [police].”

A segment on the Chasen slaying was featured Nov. 20.

Beverly Hills police have not said what prompted them to seek a search warrant for the Hollywood apartment of a man. When detectives arrived, the man shot himself to death in the apartment lobby.

It's unknown what connection, if any, the man had to the Chasen slaying. Law enforcement sources told The Times he was considered a suspect in the killing but did not provide any details.

Beverly Hills police had no immediate comment on Walsh's statement. It's unclear whether there was other evidence that pointed detectives to the man.

The publicist was shot to death early Nov. 16 while driving her Mercedes-Benz near Whittier Drive and Sunset Boulevard in Beverly Hills. She was on her way home from a party after the premiere of the movie “Burlesque.”

Chasen is believed to have left the event about midnight and been traveling west on Sunset. Friends believe she planned to head south to her condominium on Wilshire Boulevard near the grounds of the Los Angeles Country Club. Several residents called 911 at the time of the attack, saying they heard gunshots.

Moments later, another resident called 911 to report hearing the car crash into a light pole. People living on Whittier Drive who heard the crash ran to the scene and found Chasen slumped over the steering wheel, bleeding. The passenger-side window was shattered.

by the way....slip of the tongue or just a poor choice of words?

who shoots themselves to death? odd. not to mention he is now going to apartment lobby. the front door. he must know whos at the door, opens it for them to show a warrant then shoots "himself to death"?

Huh

This is a link i found. I was curious to see this guy that shot himself.

Smells fishy. Didn't something just come out saying the gun he killed himself with wasn't the murder weapon? This article says it was.

Her colleagues don't believe he acted alone.
