Reclaim Your Liberty Through Self-Sufficiency - Free Will
Dependence is subjection to the direction or disposal of another, or the inability to help or provide for oneself. Whereas, Slavery is the state of one bound in servitude as the property of a slaveholder, or a condition of being subject to a specified influence. In today's world, both of these terms are relevant to every working American, as the chains of dependence appear to be tightening by the day.

Our modern society has made us dependent on something or someone other than ourselves for most necessities such as electricity, food, water, medicine, security, and education. This dependence puts us at the "direction or disposal of another;" whether it be a boss, an electric company, water company, the government, and countless others.

When we are dependent on something other than ourselves for our survival, it seems we are a prisoner to the entity that controls that aspect of our dependency. This imbalance creates a sort of servitude to those who control and dole out the jobs (or welfare) and dictate a certain level of conformity. And if you're unwilling to conform you'll likely be fired or cut off from the system, so there is a forced conformity to various forms regulation and abuse in order to sustain a living. In short, we will never truly be free individuals until we become more self-sufficient.
As the economic depression persists with increasing predictions of catastrophic collapse, we're already seeing hidden austerity measures unfolding. With unending proposals for draconian legislation that dictate everything from the type of food we can buy, to restricting our energy use, to outlawing rainwater collecting, to plans for a biometric National ID card (in the name of fighting illegal immigration) just to have a job or travel, and many more; it's understandable why many people feel powerless.

We can't expect this cartel-run government to grant us individual liberty, as the system continues to hurl towards their full spectrum dominance over humanity. The powers that micro-control the population only posses their power through our willing dependence. The only entity that has the power to grant us liberty is ourself; and we can take back our independence through self-sufficiency. They have far too much at stake to allow us to see that there is a path to freedom that doesn't require politics or active protest -- it's boycott power.

When we grow a garden or keep chickens, we stand in protest of big agribusiness and the FDA. When we apply some level of alternative energy, we stand in defiance of the corporate energy state and the endless resource wars. When we can harvest our own fresh water, we can survive without "public" services. When we become a producer instead of a consumer and find neighbors to trade with, we become free of the rat race economy. When we buy weapons to protect yourself, we are no longer dependent on the "authorities" for personal safety. When we learn to make and apply natural health remedies, we can find a level of freedom from dictatorial corporate-government medicine.

Breaking our dependence on the system is the most effective form of protest, as the strength of the system critically depends on our continued economic support. One person moving toward individual self-sufficiency will be far more destructive to the system than a thousand street protests. Indeed, the establishment will fight our independence at every turn, but each step we take closer to self-sufficiency will be one step closer to reclaiming our liberty.
