In summary, a profanity filter would be a very easy way to make ConCen "family-friendly" ...

... and more importantly, "women-friendly".

Not the atmosphere of a "boys' club".

Well thought out suggestion to weigh in on. I don't have the keys to the car, only do some buffing, change the paint and decide where the ashtray goes at this point though so I can't make any changes myself but I can push table the motion forward.

My initial thoughts.

* Not difficult to implement, it may even already exist as a toggle somewhere deep in the MyBB controls
* How effective would that be in making this family friendly is up for debate, SEO is more about topicality and I'm pretty sure we're excluded from Google's SafeSearch criteria as it is
* "Clever" use of the language can easily circumvent this through implication and goad the rebel spirit in opposer to this idea to make it more prevalent.
* It is fundamentally censorship

Update: Nope not happening it's an adult site - enter at your own risk. Serious discussion and debate (but not circular argument and senseless attacks). No holds barred! If you're child eyes can't bear it frak off and go to the playground and get some sunshine while you still can.

Why not make the best of this by:

Well, I suggested some time ago that maybe I do a poem, and April a pic for the main page. I will admit, I should have pushed ahead with it sooner, but I REALLY think we should start there (the main page) and work our way inwards to the areas that longer term users see and use more (forum etc).

Our main page is:
VERY functional
VERY plain

But it is the "front door" to the site.

April, give me a PM maybe with a list of torrents you'd like to see on the FB group notes section, and I will happily spend the time getting the descriptions and links over to that side. I have tried giving a varied selection, but of course I am biased, so if we could have some "female bias" in that area, I think it could help.

MY g/f got in touch with you April, and she loves to natter a lot, touching more on things that happen in her every day life, but I can certainly encourage more from her if and when appropriate discussions come up.

I'd like to see us revert to the way it was just recently also... with displaying the small list of recent topics on the front page...
