'Psychic' octopus predicts Spanish win

Paul the so-called psychic octopus has correctly predicted yet another World Cup winner, this time to the delight of German football fans.

The sea creature resides in an aquarium in Germany and has gained worldwide fame for predicting World Cup winners.

Some German fans wanted him fried or turned into paella after he correctly predicted Spain's victory over Germany last week.

The eight-limbed soothsayer chose between two containers of food marked with the flags of Uruguay and Germany, to correctly guess that Germany would win this morning's third place play-off.

Paul's 100 per cent success rate at this World Cup will be tested tomorrow morning - he has picked that Spain will defeat the Netherlands in the final.

Meanwhile, animal rights group PETA has called for Paul to be set free.

PETA spokesman Bruce Friedrich wants people to sign an online petition demanding Paul's release.

"No animal deserves to be confined to a tiny tank and we're hoping that Paul's popularity, or in Germany notoriety, will cause people to think a little bit more about the inner lives of octopuses," he said.

I don't say this all too often, but maybe PETA has a point:

I just wanted to say, no offense to the OP, fuck PETA. They are a highly calculating, wealth accruing, deceptive organization of crazy whack jobs who use a love of animals to hide their inherently self-loathing, sociopathic ideology that invariably supports eugenics, population control, and invasive government.

They have no dignity and no legitimacy as an organization and exist solely on the deception of, and predation on, their supporters. A truly evil cabal of truly dangerous incubates for the New World Mentality, that which will be required of all good subjects of the New World Order, that of a humanity turned violently against itself.
