Political Hip Hop & Rap

Well what rap music does for me is, it just makes me feel cool sometimes. Sorry for lack of a better description but I just like driving around listening to some good rap/hip hop with the windows down. That's chill. Then there's other times that rap music can be angry enough to make you want to kill somebody. Then there's instrumental hip hop like RJD2 and DJ Shadow where there's little to no rapping, just hot beats. I like all kinds, and I tend to agree, stuff like 50 cent and 90% of the BS on MTV is just not what I'm into, you have to dig a little deeper to find the good stuff.

Quote:if you put anger into the music...you're only putting hate.
that's not a message i would want to hear. or pain...either.

I Love to hear a song that reflects a person's heartfelt pain, strife and anger,
for i believe not that any of these feelings are "hatefull" at all.
Often ventilating these feelings has an effect of releasing them, self therapeutic so to say,
and it also gives other people some well-worded honest sentiment/mindstate/contrast to reflect on.
[i'm not talking about phoney sentiment or stupid mofo's talking shit for the hell of it.]
knowing a bit about the stuff you listen to , i think we understand what we are saying;),
i'm just clarifying how i feel a focussed anger in the mind doesn't [nescessarily] make hatefull music.

here's some stuff i give a good lot of play;

This one i just straight up love, can't find anyone to front on da Humble Magnificent .

Edan
beauty and the Beat

Edan Beauty and the Beat

Props are due to the Mightyvibes peops for encoding most albums i didn't rip for myself. Big up!

This one is diggable, some of the beats i really like:

Micranots
Obelisk Movements

Micranots Obelisk Movements

An mc who's poetic rhymestyle and delivery i highly admire:

Illogic
Write to Death

Illogic Write to Death

enjoy and reflect'
let us hear what you think aswell, it's appreciated.

Quote:I dont' get hip hop at all.

Man...I am so in one accord with you!

My personal opinion (which everone has one, and you know how that is) garbage in garbage out!

The more you listen to stuff...the more you become that stuff. I am very choosy of what I listen to.

I look at it this way, my life is short...toooo short. This stuff happening around us will be there way after I am dead and gone. So what did I accomplish in my life? Did I leave any kind of mark in others' lives? Did I leave some kind of hope.

I will give you a qoute from one of these greatest song messages of music history:
"All you need is love"

I am showing my age now...huh?

Not so much showing your age - more showing your ignorance of the genre. What on Earth does "garbage in garbage out" mean? I have no idea what your mid-life-crisis-in-words is all about either!!! Of course "life is short" - get over it.

hey..."garbage in garbage out" is not junking up your mind with unneccesary stuff. It's too heavy. And please do not call me ignorant. I am different not stupid...there is a difference. And also to clarify
I am not middle aged.
And by the way you responded I can tell you are young. Don't be rude!!!
It is easy to sit behinda screen and keyboard and just blast away at people because they feel differently than you. I believe that shows a lack of maturity. Do you talk like that to people all the time or just behind a keyboard? Look I am not here to argue with people so if all you have is more negetive things to say to me then don't bother.......really
