Fish are usually cooked in hot fat when they are deep fried - and it's hard to imagine anything surviving that process.
But not so in China, where chefs have found a way of cooking fish while keeping them alive,they twitch and flounder on the plate. The guests are amused and laugh as they poke at the fish’s mouth with a stick. these japanese love fear in their food. they used to try and kill their whales with kindness before harpoons caught on..way way before they started to adorn themselves with fried living mullets like it could ever pass as either fashion or nutrition.
Also "the final countdown" by the band Europe might have been popular in chinese japan once too. I wouldn't put it past them - they probably tried to fry that too whilst it was playing on the stereo hifi, those wacky turtle beaters. |
