Another Us City Ban's Feeding Homeless
Considering our current state of technology, nobody should be homeless period. Hell, nobody should even have to work... Utopia is within our grasp.. what prevents it?

Maybe alot of the assholes I see downtown aren't homeless. I'm talking about the dirty fucking pieces of shit wearing denium and mullets or trackpants that walk around being rude, and aggressive bugging the shit out of everyone they pass. Whenever I do find charity and offer to buy them a burger or something they are lik no, just give me the money - When I can smell fucking booze on them. We used to have a foodstamp program but they canned it because none of them wanted it.

Is there a difference between dirty broke downtown trash - and the homeless?

I can't imagine where alot of these guys go at the end of the night.

I'm not an elitist. I have compassion. Living downtown though is making it run dry.

Do you really think your a higher form of life? You...With your dripping jaws, and your bloodshot eyes. You...With your varicosities and your vermin for an appendix. You...with your hemroids and assterioids. Often I wake up at night and ponder these matters. And then I feel very strongly that I should talk them over with Brother Theodore...and then, and then I wake up fully and remember that I am Brother Theodore. And my heart aches. And my tears flow. And I see my Aunt Marie floating in the chicken soup...more dead than alive...more naked than not. And oh, now I see a mailman, a mailman giving birth to a dog of all things!

Never a moments peace, never a moments peace...never a moments peace.

Canada is a bit different than the USA in this regard. Our social programs ares still relativly intact, and we have church run soup kitchens everywhere.

The majority of homeless people are addicted to hard drugs. They can get food, and often beds for the night, but most of them are on the street because they are lost to herion, cocaine, crystal meth, or a conbination.

There is also a "street kid sub-culture" who are deliberately homeless as part of some kind of rebellious streak.

There are people with legitimate issues, and it has been getting worse and worse for people down on their luck, but around here, no one needs to go hungry.

However once you spend a year on the streets addicted to crack, chances are you are going to be a total asshole, and a theif to support your drug habit.

Drug reform would eliminate a huge amount of the homeless (at least around here) since drug abuse is the number one reason peoples live fall apart. Having no real support network for people who get addicted to hard drugs is a major factor in this.
Public Healthcare does some good afterall I suppose, knowing that medical bills put many americans on the street...

If you feed them they'll never go home. just kidding:P

At NASA, it really is rocket science, and the decision makers really are rocket scientists.
But a body of research that is getting more and more attention points to the ways that smart people working collectively can be dumber than the sum of their parts. .. Irwin Janis? &Groupthink:& is a mode of thinking that people engage in when they are deeply involved in a cohesive in-group, when the members' striving for unanimity override realistic appraisals ? It is the triumph of concurrence over good sense, and authority over expertise.&
