Now I come to think of it, it is actually revealing.

And when he was crucified, why would a sadistic mob stop to give a dead man some pause, while they'd fashion another cross to suit his needs?

Putting a 'standard' one upside down I can understand.. novelty value and all that.

Maybe the X-cross got developped later by some clergy who where apprehensive about the sign of the inverted cross as the very symbol of the pope?

Just making big assumptions, I know.. still, intriguing..

Look closely at that photo of the cross on Chelsea Clinton's neck...see the bottom portion. The appearance of an inverted cross is bogus, the cross extends to a normal length.

Looks like a poorly done photo alteration to me; I can clearly see the extension, though foggy, it is visible. That would make it a perfectly average cross, nothing to see here in my opinion.

extension? the lower half is not the right length to begin with. come on people this is one of the evil rulers of the worlds daughter, lets use a little deductive reasoning here. if its photoshopped i would like to see proof. and if someone could find an original from which to refference from that would be great.

althought he angle of the cross in the blow up doesnt match the angle its sitting on her neck in the picture. but it still looks inverted in the original. i duno.

WS, look at the abrupt ending of the shadow, then look beneath and you can see the extension there (in the fogged-out area).

It's an inverted cross. You do the math. Her's is a standard cross that doesn't even come close to matching up with thor's hammer.

Why do you have to be an expert woken? There is a clear outline of an equal cross. The cross is hanging off a segment (that makes it look like an upside down cross) which in turn, is hanging off the chain - this accentuates the cross because it isnt directly hanging off the chain

It seems all I could find were fat crosses with segments attached so they don't make for a good argument other than a fat cross with the segment takes away the illusion of an upside down cross.

I think your argument may be a little on the weak side faust, but then so is mine.

If I had to go with my gut instinct, I would say it's inverted.

Skinny equal crosses are in short supply. When I found any at all, it was clear that the jeweler designed the crosses with that thought in mind, in other words no illusions, it had to look like a cross.

More crosses under the search "delicate equal cross necklaces". Heck use your imagination, squint at the pictures a bit, none look so blatantly obvious as Ms. Clinton's.
