Quote:Are we talking about "dead zones" of water that are known to be deoxyginated? I guess not, I posted that as possible in my previous post and he said it wasn't what he was talking about. Although I still think it's the only thing close to what he has described. We need at least a general description of this or something besides deadwater to search on. not really...it has to do with litteraly slowing down and adventually stopping the current of the rivers in the oceans.
i mean...litteraly stopping the currents ![]() &A stupid man's report of what a clever man says is never accurate because he unconsciously translates what he hears into something he can understand.& -- Bertrand Russell |

Quote:i wish i had a way to put a VHS tape on the net. I've been capping stuff from vhs for years using capture cards, but the simplest way for a beginner is to buy a standalone dvd recorder and connect your normal vhs player to it. Then you record the dvd as usual and rip the disc using any dvd ripper software. |

Okay, I think I might of found some sites addressing this topic about the current.
http://www.geology.yale.edu/research/atmocean/lab.html Heinrich Event - http://www.cyberspaceorbit.com/heinrich.html http://www.atmosphere.mpg.de/enid/1610fa9f...change_2gv.html This was another interesting site not specifically about the current, more about the deoxygenation http://disc.gsfc.nasa.gov/oceancolor/scifo...ead_zones.shtml Non-related but this was very interesting regarding fish mortality in the study. http://www.blackwell-synergy.comnks/doi...09.2004.01054.x |

So what's the implications if the ocean currents stop? Will it cut off the nutrient supply of plankten and other marine biology? Any factors you can give for why it's stopping. I'm curious of what this is now, but I still can't find anything about it.

True bro, or one of those double recorders like, does both vhs to dvd - dvd to vhs, and obviously if you have the leads to jack it up to the PC then thats even better! Some of those double recorders are costly though:( it's definatly a less time consuming way of going about it. Has any one got a £200:00 to spare so I can get one lol |

I think it's fair to say that this ocean 'problem' is related to or a direct result of the general climate problem and should simply be folded in with Global Warming. Not that it's not a huge issue, but I believe the root cause is the same... and of course, it's us.

I'm curious of what this is now, but I still can't find anything about it. lol man, the ocean currrents help create climate structure...if well when they do stop, it can bring an ice age. everything needs movement...if you seen water that has sat still for a while, it smells, its rotten and things like that. but with the oceans...it'll affect the way the weather is on earth. and thats nothing good. and they're slowing down now. and on top of that...the oceans are polluted beyond belief or what anyone is aware of. ![]() &A stupid man's report of what a clever man says is never accurate because he unconsciously translates what he hears into something he can understand.& -- Bertrand Russell |
