I think that searching for radio signals is just plain silly. If there are intelligences out there, they certainly have a better way to communicate. The search should be for the MEDIUM which would allow beings to communicate in a faster-than-light fashion. Realistically, even if we picked up some radio communication, it would have little to offer us ... because they'd be in the same technological boat as we are - i.e. still using radio. IMO we should be looking at gravity.
