Could be, but from looking at his site, and watching 2 of his videos, I believe he's just a sleazy snake-oil salesman.
The guy can't believe the crap he's peddling unless he's insane - he still sells videos predicting the imminent demise of the planet by the year 2000! However, judging by his religious rantings, he might well be insane.

The producers of the original Alternative 3 have 2 very strong cases against him:
1) He's using the copyrighted name Alternative 3 without permission.
2) He includes over 80% of the original mockumentary in his own product. That's clearly beyond "Fair Use".
