Kosher Tax
I was just shopping the other day and I like these Mexican chips that claim to be all natural. So for the first time I noticed a symbol saying "KSA Kosher". [Image: ksa-kosher.jpg]
I'm thinking whats that all about? If this is a so called "Mexican Food" what is the kosher thing for? Someone told me it's a tax on the food. Why? Then someone said it's almost on eveything in the store. I heard it was because of the way the food is processed, and some people look for it, but I've never heard of it at all! I ask several store employees about it and they didn't have a clue? So I looked it up (on Wiki of course), it starts.......

"The "Kosher tax" is a canard or urban legend spread by anti-Semitic, white supremacist and right wing extremist organizations such as the National Alliance and Ku Klux Klan."

Then it says........ "The actual cost to the consumer is miniscule" Huh? First you say it's a myth, then you confirm that it's a tax? It goes on to say....

"in 1975 the cost per item for obtaining kosher certification was estimated by The New York Times as being 6.5 millionths (0.0000065) of a cent per item for a typical product."

"Obtaining certification that an item is kosher is a voluntary business decision made by companies desiring additional sales from consumers (both Jewish and non-Jewish) who look for kosher certification when shopping" What? I can't find anyone to explain what it is, that includes store employees. I bet 99.9% of consumers don't know what it means or know all the symbols (you have to know the symbols if your looking for the certification, and there's a bunch of different ones).

Now, I've researched this a bit, and everyone refers to this New York Times article. If it's on 90% of things in a grocery store, why the hell do you have to refer to the NY Times to find out the cost of the tax? You should be able to call some government office and they would tell you the cost since you have to pay it. And ain't 1975 thirty two years ago? Hell, then you could buy penny candy and a thick-ass candy bar was a quarter. Then I seen a docu where someone said "Oh, this tax is so small it's almost incalculable" Does that make sense? Then why apply it? How do you pay for something incalculable? It's seems everyone avoids this matter at all costs! Can anyone clearify? (which I'm sure will lead to more questions)

One reason the war against racism (and sexism) cannot be won is that once a group is admitted to the club of &being white,& or being allowed, in the case of sexism, to use &the flawed white male model,& it already has learned all too well how to play the role of being superior to those still remaining outside those exclusive clubs. The real problem is that the illicit rewards, both tangible and intangible, in a racist and/or sexist society are so enormous that there is hardly any incentive to do otherwise.&

I have heard something about it on a video entitled Understanding Anti-semitism http://www.honestmediatoday.com/understand...ntisemitism.htm . I don't think it's really that much money but it is definitely something extra you have to pay for. I wouldn't be too worried about it honestly though.

But how can they charge something that small, if you pay with cash? Wouldnt they have to round up to ever get money out of this? So it would seem that they would have to round it up a penny, which would add up to a lot more than something incalculable.

I've never seen these labels though. I don't live in an area with a Jewish population.

Nah the price I believe is built into the actual product it's not like a tax like sales tax, so they don't really need a whole number to put it on there. They could charge however much the tax is for all of the stock of the item, so let's say for argument's sake 1 cent for every 100 boxes of cereal (I don't have any idea how much it would really be so bear with me). So they don't really need a whole number per product. Anyway harflimon these labels are on everything, have you ever seen the K or U with a circle around it? That's a kosher stamp right there.

No I haven't. And I went and looked in my pantry on all the food products. I buy mostly Spartan products at my local Glen's store. No Walmart shopping for me:P

How would you build such a small amount into the price of these products though. Even if the grocery store bought 1000 units of something it would be less than half a penny. I don't see how they can put this onto the customers without rounding it up.

<span style="color:#000099">Thank you for starting this thread/inquiry, Blackthor.:)

For information purposes only, four articles with **opposing** viewpoints on the "kosher labeling issue" are posted below. :o

Writers are Ernesto Cienfuegos (Mexican-American activist in Los Angeles, California for La Voz de Aztlan), Don Harkins (populist publisher of the Idaho Observer) and the Anti-Defamation League staff of writers.

Caveat emptor!

Use your discernment when reading these articles (or any articles posted on the Forum:rolleyes:).

For example, the statement by Cienfuegos: "This time the scam will affect many destitute American consumers who depend on a McDonald's hamburger and fries for nutrition."

McDonald's hamburger and fries for nutrition?

Ell-Oh-Ell!

Better yet, always use your discernment when buying food for you and/or your family ...

... caveat emptor when purchasing at your local market.B)

Political arguments and labeling issues aside, always remember that your health is your most important wealth!

<span style="color:#000099">The "Kosher Nostra Scam" on the American Consumer

by Ernesto Cienfuegos (La Voz de Aztlan, article posted at this link)

Los Angeles, Alta California - 4/27/2002 - (ACN) La Voz de Aztlan receives quite a few "news tips" per week from our many subscribers and readers. Some we dismiss immediately but a very few catch our attention. Last week we receive an e-mail asking us if we knew the significance of the small encircled letter "U" or letter "K" that can be found printed on many food cans, food packages and on other kitchen products.

The message gave us some clues and suggested that we do some research into the subject. What we found certainly was "news" to us and it both shocked and angered us.

On arriving at my residence, I immediately went to the pantry to verify that what I had just learned was actually true. Sure enough, most of the packaged and canned foods from major companies, like Proctor & Gamble and others, did have the (U), the (K) or other similar markings. The Arrowhead water bottle, the instant Folgers Coffee, the Kelloggs box, the Jiff Peanut Butter, the Pepper container, the Trader Joe's tea box and even the Glads plastic sandwich bags carton had the (U) or (K) mark on them.

We needed a little more verification so we called two major companies to asked some questions.

We chose Proctor & Gamble that markets the Folgers Coffee and the Clorox Company that manufactures the Glads plastic zip lock sandwich bags. Each of the two companies, as well as most others, have 1-800 telephone numbers printed on their packages for consumers to call in case they have any questions about their products.

When we asked the Proctor & Gamble representative what the (U) meant on their Folgers Coffee container, she asked us to wait until she consulted with her supervisor. She came back and informed us that the mark meant that the coffee was " certified kosher". We than asked her how and who certified the coffee to be "kosher" and whether it cost any money to do so. She refused to answer these and other questions. She suggested that we write to their Corporate Public Affairs Department.

We than called the Clorox Corporation to ask what the (U) meant on the package of their Glads plastic sandwich bags and she also said that the (U) meant that the plastic bags were "kosher" but refused to answer questions concerning payments the Clorox Corporation has to make in order to be able to print the (U) on their products.

What we learned next, pretty much floored me personally.

I learned that major food companies throughout America actually pay a Jewish Tax amounting to hundreds of million of dollars per year in order to receive protection. This hidden tax gets passed, of course, to all non-Jewish consumers of the products. The scam is to coerce the companies to pay up or suffer the consequences of a Jewish boycott. Jewish consumers have learned not to buy any kitchen product that does not have the (U) the (K) and other similar markings.

Another shocker was learning who is actually behind these sophisticated "Kosher Nostra Scams."

It turns out that the perpetrators of these elaborate extortion schemes are actually Rabbinical Councils that are set up, not just in the U.S. but in other western countries as well. For example, the largest payola operation in the U.S. is run by those who license the (U) symbol. The (U) symbol provides protection for many products sold here in Aztlan and in the United States.

This symbol is managed by the The Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations with headquarters at 333 Seventh Avenue in New York City.

The scam works like a well oiled machine and is now generating vast amounts of funds, some of which are being utilized by the Union of Orthodox Rabbis to support the Ariel Sharon Zionist government in Israel. The website of the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations is full of pro-Israel and anti-Palestinian propaganda.

The "Kosher Nostra" protection racket starts when an Orthodox Rabbi approaches a company to warn the owners that unless their product is certified as kosher, or "fit for a Jew to eat", they will face a boycott by every Jew in America. Most, if not all of the food companies, succumb to the blackmail because of fear of the Jewish dominated media and a boycott that may eventually culminate in bankruptcy. Also, the food companies know that the cost can be passed on to the consumer anyway. The food companies have kept secret from the general consumer the meaning of the (U) and the amount of money they have to pay the Jewish Rabbis.

It is estimated that the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations, which manages the (U) symbol protection racket, controls about 85% of the "Kosher Nostra " certification business. They now employ about 1200 Rabbi agents that are spread through out the U.S.

Food companies must first pay an exorbitant application fee and than a large annual fee for the use of the (U) copyright symbol. Secondly, the companies must pay separate fees each time a team of Rabbis shows up to "inspect" the company's operations. Certain food companies are required to hire Rabbis full time at very lucrative salaries.

The amount of money that the non-Jewish consumer has paid the food companies to make up for the hidden Jewish Tax is unknown, but it is estimated to be in the billions since the scam first started.

The Orthodox Jewish Councils as well as the food companies keep the amount of the fees very secret. The Jewish owned Wall Street Journal wrote about the problem many years ago, but they have stopped writing about it now.

Only public awareness concerning the "Kosher Nostra Scam" will eventually help stop this swindle of the American consumer.

Public education of the scam may lead to an eventual non-Jewish boycott of all products with the (U), (K) or other Jewish protection symbols. I certainly do not need to pay extra for "kosher water", "kosher coffee" or "kosher plastic sandwich bags". In fact, I demand my money back for all I had to pay over the years for the hidden and illegal Jewish Tax.

Are there any bright attorneys out there that could bring a class action suit against the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations on behalf of the citizens of Aztlan and other non-Jewish people?

<span style="color:#6600CC">++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

<span style="color:#000099">McDonald’s becomes latest victim of the "Kosher Nostra Scam"

by Ernesto Cienfuegos (La Voz de Aztlan, article posted at this link)

Los Angeles, Alta California - June 9, 2003 - (ACN) A little over a year ago, I wrote a well received article titled, "The 'Kosher Nostra Scam' on the American Consumer". The article outlined a sophisticated scam that is costing the American consumer millions of dollars per year by paying extra for what actually amounts to a hidden "Jewish Tax" on food products.

The perpetrators of these elaborate extortion schemes are rabbinical councils.

These councils coerce large food companies to pay up for the use of their kosher symbols (U) and (K) on their food labels or else face a massive Jewish boycott of their products. Today, American consumers are having to pay extra for such products as bottled mountain spring water, plastic sandwich bags, aluminum foil, folgers coffee, detergent and for thousands of other products that are unrelated to the Torah kosher laws.

The rabbis have "stretched" the meaning of the Torah kosher laws in order to maximize the profits they receive through their protection racket. The largest payola operations in the U.S. are run by those rabbis who license the (U) and the (K) symbols. These are the rabbis that run the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations (U) and the rabbis associated with Star-K symbol.

These same two rabbi organizations recently perpetuated yet another "Kosher Nostra Scam". This time the scam will affect many destitute American consumers who depend on a McDonald's hamburger and fries for nutrition.

These consumers will surely pay more for their food now that the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations and the rabbis associated with the Star-K symbol have been instrumental in forcing McDonald's to pay up $10 million dollars as part of a Cook County circuit court (Illinois) settlement ruled on May 20. The settlement, obtain on behalf of the rabbis and other groups, was litigated by a group of Jewish attorneys and decided by Jewish Judge Richard Seibel.

What was Mc Donald's crime? They failed to divulge that their fries had a "beef" flavoring!

The "loot" will be divided among the rabbis, certain other Jewish groups and some non-Jewish organizations.

The rabbis in the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations (U) will receive $150,000 and the rabbis with Star-K will receive $300,000. The Zionist student group Hillel has been designated to receive $300,000 by Jewish Circuit Judge Seibel. The Jewish Community Centers Association will receive $200,000. The National Jewish Center for Learning and Leadership will get $50,000. The amount that the Jewish attorneys will receive for their services has not been divulged but it is estimated to be quite "substantial".

It is estimated that the non-Jewish American consumer has paid billions of dollars extra for food over the years that the "Kosher Nostra Scam" has been in operation. The rabbis run a well oiled machine and are now utilizing the corrupt Jewish dominated judicial system to enforce their phoney kosher laws. The decision by the Illinois circuit court will now be an extra "baseball bat" they will use to coerce the food companies to pay more for protection.

Ultimately it is us, the non-Jewish consumer that pays the price.

From the December 2003 Idaho Observer (posted under "December 2003" on the Idaho Observer website at link):

<span style="color:#000099">“Kosher Nostra” demands protection money from processed food, beverage producers in trade for product approval--Rabbinical societies bless poisonous products in widespread strongarm scam

by Don Harkins

All consumers of processed and packaged foods and beverages should be reading product labels. Modern processing techniques commonly include trace amounts of chemicals said to preserve, prevent separation (or caking and clumping), prolong freshness or enhance the flavors found in the product.

Many of these chemicals are synthetics that do not metabolize properly in the body and can accumulate in various organs. These deposits can irritate organ tissues that become inflamed and develop into infections leading to chronic conditions such as cancer and heart disease.

Science and experience have shown how various synthetic sweeteners, flavor enhancers, product stabilizers and preservatives are cumulative toxins, yet products that contain them are marketed by major processed food and beverage corporations with the approval of the U.S. government. Most of those major corporations also seek the blessing of a group that we will, for the purpose of this article, call the “Kosher Nostra.” There is an ironic twist to this story that will be revealed in due course.

If you look in your own pantry or up and down the aisles of your neighborhood supermarket, you will notice that nearly every household-word name-brand food, beverage or soap has a little (K) or a little (U) inside of a circle discretely displayed on the label. These symbols indicate a product is “certified kosher” and are issued by rabbinical societies for a fee.

The Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations (UOJC) with headquarters at 333 Seventh Avenue in New York City, has reportedly sewn up 85 percent of the kosher certification market in America. Jewish people are instructed to consume only those products that are certified kosher.

This is how a religious sect is able to run what may well be the most successful private extortion racket in America.

Major corporations are compelled to pay the yearly kosher certification fee or lose their access to Jewish consumers. To maintain their certification status, the corporation must hire, at their own expense, independent production supervisors to inspect production processes to insure kosher standards are maintained.

Some companies, such as cheese manufacturers, must have full-time rabbis on staff to perform specific functions during the production process.

The UOJC employs some 1,200 kosher cops in America.

Ernesto Cienfueges of the Hispanic newspaper La Voz de Aztlan recently reported that, when asked what they pay in “kosher tax,” major corporations such as Proctor & Gamble and Clorox were not willing to say.

However, in 1975 the New York Times reported that the cost to General Foods' “Bird's Eye” Corn, for example, is 6.5 millionths (.0000065) of a cent per unit. In 2002 the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), in an effort to justify the kosher certification industry reported how “a representative of the Heinz Company said that the per item cost is 'so small we can't even calculate it,' and that such labeling actually makes products less costly by increasing the market for them.”

The amount may seem small, but so do most taxes.

The devil is in the mathematical details. Depending upon whether a “unit” is a package or the number of things, such individual kernels of peas or corn in a package, the revenue generated from kosher certification, if every American purchased an average of 35 kosher products per week, would be somewhere between $117,554,118 and $58 billion over the last 35 years.

If the UOJC would just tell us the numbers, such conjecture would not be necessary.

The ADL report went on to label anyone who believes kosher certification to be anything other than a process intended to protect the purity of food as “anti-Semitic.”

In contrast to the ADL view of kosher certification, former prominent New York business broker Michael Santomauro commented, “One of the major unspoken reasons for anti-Semitism in the business world is the kosher tax.”

Santomauro indicated that he knows a lot about what he calls the “kosher” tax. “Someday, I will tell the full story about the kosher tax that we are all forced to pay,” he said.

What is kosher?

Kosher is an adaptation of a Hebrew word that means “fit” or “proper.”

A basic guideline is that milk and meat are never to be combined. Products identified as “pareve,” a Hebrew word for neutral, are fruits, vegetables and grains that are neither meat, poultry nor dairy products. Kosher foods fall within the guidelines of Jewish dietary laws. What determines kosher vs. non-kosher is the source of the ingredients and the status of the production equipment.

The ADL reported that many non-Jews, particularly vegans, prefer kosher foods because kosher certification is analogous with purity and quality.

Jewish dietary laws date back to Adam and Eve and were established a few millennia before food was mass processed and packaged. The list of products which boast kosher certification may contain the correct combination, or separation of ingredients and may be produced with equipment that meets kosher specifications, but contain chemicals and additives that are not natural and are toxic to humans.

Ironically, small, organic food and beverage companies that maintain a high standard of product purity rarely indicate kosher on their labels though Jewish and non-Jewish people alike purchase and consume them. At .0000065 of a cent per item, it would take the UOJC a long time to earn a dollar from a company that sells under 100,000 units a year.

People who consume products certified by the UOJC as “kosher” are paying for the privilege of consuming products that contain toxic preservatives and additives not excluded from Jewish dietary laws. For some reason, it has not occurred to the Jewish clergy to update dietary laws to meet the demands of modern food manufacturing processes.

The promised twist to this story is that the UOJC is content to charge major food and beverage companies a fee so they can fool Jewish people into consuming their products as “fit” and “pure” within religious standards when, in fact, they are unfit and impure by biological standards. If our bodies are temples of God, then the UOJC is deriving revenue from taxes it imposes on food and beverage companies to aid in the for-profit destruction of God's temples.

From the writing staff of the Anti-Defamation League website (article posted at link) --

<span style="color:#000099">The "Kosher Tax" Hoax: Anti-Semitic Recipe for Hate

Introduction

"The Kosher Food Tax is the biggest consumer fraud existing in America."

The bizarre claim by right wing extremists that kosher certification markings on food product labels ("U" "K," etc.) cost consumers extra money and represent, in effect, a "kosher tax" to make rabbis rich, is a striking example of the propaganda used by anti-Semites to trick the uninformed into accepting conspiracy charges and stereotypes about Jews.

Other anti-Semitic allegations regarding kosher designation on foods include charges that "the kosher food racket" benefits Jewish organizations while only a small segment of the American population desires such markings, and that even the meanings of the labels are guarded secrets deliberately kept from non-Jews to trick them into paying the "kosher tax"

The Facts

Attacks on the labeling of food with the symbols for kashruth (traditional Jewish dietary laws) have been a standard ploy of anti-Jewish bigots in the U.S. for decades.

Such symbols as the "U" emblem of the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations (UOJC), among others, confirm that products are kosher—i.e., that foods and production processes have been inspected by competent rabbis from the respective organizations and found to be in compliance with Jewish dietary law.

The cost to the consumer for this service is a miniscule fraction of the total production overhead; it is so negligible in practical terms as to be virtually non-existent.

A May 18, 1975 New York Times article reported that the cost to General Foods' "Bird's Eye" Unit, for example, is 6.5 millionths (.0000065) of a cent per item. Furthermore, a representative of the Heinz Company has said that the per item cost is "so small we can't even calculate it," and that such labeling actually makes products less costly by increasing the market for them.

Indeed, according to marketing manager Steven Zamichow, quoted in the Washington Post, "Entenmann's Inc. received kosher certification in 1981 and sales of [its] baked goods 'increased substantially.' " Visits to the Entenmann's plant from a "mashgiach" or kashruth inspector, are provided by the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America.

The UOJC is one of several groups that maintain such a kosher inspection service, certifying foods and related products to be in compliance with Jewish dietary laws through all phases of production. The profit from these products goes, of course, to the companies that manufacture them and the stores that sell them, not to "the Jews."

Shopping at Kosher Butcher Shops

In the separate case of kosher meat and poultry purchased at kosher butcher shops (as distinguished from the broad general range of mass-market consumer goods certified kosher), the consumer does pay a higher price. This cost is due to the more intensive, continuous rabbinical supervision required for the exacting technicalities of kosher slaughter and inspection, processing, storage and quality of kosher meat—an inescapable necessity for this particular product, applicable only to its limited market, not the general consumer.

The Lies

The most active right wing extremist sources of the "kosher tax" hoax are various Ku Klux Klan groups and the National States Rights Party, based in Marietta, GA. The Invisible Empire Knights of the Ku Klux Klan (now based in North Carolina), through its Empire Publishing, offers a pamphlet titled "The Kosher Food Swindle" to its members and supporters.

The pamphlet begins: "American families are paying tribute to Jews every time they sit down at the table to eat and in many instances, polish their shoes, silver or wrap the leftover Thanksgiving turkey. Why? Because Jews have discovered a way to coerce business to pay taxes directly to Jewish organizations and pass the cost on to the consumer."

The racist and anti-Semitic National States Rights Party (NSRP), founded in 1958, became a focal point of violent opposition to the civil rights struggle in the South and has functioned as both a propaganda mill and a political party. The party's founder, Edward Fields, has served as its National Secretary, as well as the editor of the party's hate sheet, "The Truth At Last" (formerly "The Thunderbolt"). Fields was also the Grand Dragon of the now-defunct New Order, Knights of the Ku Klux Klan.

"The Truth At Last" published a special issue in June 1990 that dealt only with kosher symbols.

Articles appeared in this edition with such titles as: "Six States Make Rabbis Kosher Policeman [sic]," "Secret Kosher Tax Boosts Food Prices," "How Kosher Blackmail Works," and "Kosher Tax Symbols May Be Changed to Hide Swindle."

"Describing" kashruth, Fields has written that 'All of this is superstitious nonsense and has absolutely nothing to do with improving the quality of any food product. Still, this clever scheme of requiring kosher labeling has become a multi-million dollar business today!"

Another article in 'The Truth At Last" asserted that the "kosher tax" is paid to Orthodox Jewish organizations "just so an estimated 10% to 20% of Jewry will buy their products," and that "we are all forced to pay this Kosher Tax just to appease LESS THAN ONE PERCENT OF THE POPULATION!"

Bigotry Over a Beer Label

With the recent announcement that the Adolph Coors Brewing Co. will carry the "U" symbol on its beer, Hans Schmidt, founder of the California-based German-American National Political Action Committee (GANPAC) took it upon himself to write a protest letter to Peter Coors, President of the company.

Schmidt, who was a member of the Hitler Youth and claims to have served in the Waffen-SS during World War II, has been a leading proponent of Holocaust "revisionism" in the United States for many years. Following along the lines of many other anti-Semites, Schmidt promotes the myth of "Jewish control" of banks, the media, and the government.

In his letter to Peter Coors, Schmidt asserted that "as someone of German descent you ought to be ashamed to acquiesce to this scheme. You must know that the Jews in the aggregate use a lot of the finances thus gathered to spy on non-Jews (ADL!), to terrorize others (JDL), to ruin other people's businesses (numerous Jewish organizations and individuals), and to promote their political power to the point where this Country has been subservient to the needs of another nation (Israel)."

Schmidt also repeated the usual false chaises regarding kosher symbols, including that "there usually are great costs and efforts connected with the kosher certification and that rabbis will make upwards of $450,000 from Coors."

In a post-script Schmidt made the suggestion that Coors add the following symbols to its label: "a symbolic fish for Protestants," "a Christian Cross for Catholics," and "a Swastika for Nordics/Odinists."

Some extremists call for a boycott of foods and companies that succumb to the "kosher conspiracy."

For example, in an April 25, 1990 newsletter published by the Populist Party, a far-right political group, chairperson Monica Rorhig states: "God knows we are taxed enough already without volunteering to tithe to a foreign country and a foreign philosophy. It's a kick to walk out of a grocery store knowing you have successfully evaded this illegal tax."

Ms. Rorhig explains that through such means as this alleged tax, "we (as a nation) are being carefully herded closer and closer to International totalitarian tyranny." Pamphlets, in groups of 5-100, are offered through this newsletter for Populist Party members to circulate and spread the warning against this "unfair taxing."

"You Don't Have to be Jewish ..."

Contrary to the anti-Semitic charge that kosher labeling is a tightly guarded "Jewish secret" kept from Christians and others, it is not only Jews who prefer to purchase kosher food.

According to the Washington Post (Sept. 27, 1990), "Some kosher marketing officials estimate there may be as many as six million Americans who seek out Kosher foods in the supermarket. Of these only 1.5 million are Jewish. Moslems and Seventh Day Adventists also adhere to certain aspects of the Jewish dietary laws, but the bulk of Kosher shoppers appear to be consumers who believe the Kosher certification ... means higher quality food."

Yet whether or not they choose to purchase kosher food products, most Americans will reject the bigotry inherent in the "Kosher Tax" propaganda, recognizing it as another effort by extremists to exploit legitimate public concerns (e.g., taxes, the economy, etc.) as vehicles for anti-Semitism.

Kosher Tax
Thanks for those articles Solar! It doesn't make sense! Harflimon you should look up the symbol list, there's like twenty of them (or more). And a Jewish boycott? Would that really put a dent in anything? Especially in Spanish Foods? Latin Americans are a force on their own, I can't see them caring that Jewish people aren't buying Latin Goods. There's something more to it! And everyone refuses to tell the tax. That could go to public education and and community colleges all over the country. But it goes to a private interest, that supports it's own interest!

Grell, if there was a tax going to black folks people would be pissed no matter what the amount. They got rid of "Affirmative Action" and i don't know anyone (or know anyone that knows someone) that benefited from that personally.

None the less, we are all Americans and any tax in America should be to support American interest, Period! The reality of this is probably so fucked-up, that what they're really saying is "You don't want to know the truth"!

Kosher Tax
OK, hereeeee we go! I found Point & Counter Point on the issue.

About the Kosher Tax -- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wDPdDv7cEZo...ted&search=

And Counter Point -- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0scTz1YWE44

There's a few others that are those that support Aryan Nation (like MichBubba, whom the counter point is referring to) you can find them on YouTube also. The counter point still doesn't disclose the tax amount, and I know plenty of people that are Lactose intalerate and they don't have a clue on what these symbols mean. And for that to be true someone somewhere would have to disclosed the symbols to buyers as to what to look for reguarding this if it's for the public welfare. A pamplet should be in every doctors office to letting comsumers know what to look for if they need foods prepared in this manner if it's in their best interest. But thats not the case. I thought there were 20 symbols, now I hear that there's over 40. So, if I am lactose intalerate or a vegan where is the list of symbols for me to take advantage of this service?

And kosher wax paper and aluminum foil? They say because they're not made with milk and meat products, no shit! What paper or aluminum has milk & meat in it? This is a VERY touchy issue to some people, why remains to be seen. To me which makes it all more important. The counter point starts talking about his army and military and everything. Doesn't he know MichBubba (which is someone that probably doesn't like me either) is from Michigan, a United States territory? Is he saying Israel will attack people in the United States? I think he could of left that out and still said his part.

But hell this guy was attacked by e-mail, posted the e-mail on "his" website, and the attacker left this disclaimer to intimidate anyone that would read it......

What the fuck is that????????

One reason the war against racism (and sexism) cannot be won is that once a group is admitted to the club of &being white,& or being allowed, in the case of sexism, to use &the flawed white male model,& it already has learned all too well how to play the role of being superior to those still remaining outside those exclusive clubs. The real problem is that the illicit rewards, both tangible and intangible, in a racist and/or sexist society are so enormous that there is hardly any incentive to do otherwise.&

Kosher Tax
Thanks for this thread. Those articles tripped me out.

I always thought that it was to assure that there was no pork or pork byproducts in the Jews food. Also it's approving detergents because what good is it not to eat pork products if you are bathing in them. For a long time animal products have been used all over in industry in surprising places this may be some of the explaination for stuff like plastic bags or tin foil. If they are food grade products then the machines that make them need to be lubed with food grade lubricant and alot of times this contained pork and beef by-products.

I smell a conspiracy though definatly. Why won't they tell us how much it is? They keep refering to that one NY times article? How weird. This criptic talk about units like they could be talking about individual corn kernals. Reminds me of the tax law controrversary. "Show us the law" well... "Show us the tax!"

I see your point, Doe. But doesn't that seem like alot of trouble to regulate for the sake of a few? And it definitely seems like a lot to regulate at a miniscule cost. And I'm 100% of sure those that are lactose intalerate and Vegans don't give a dam about sandwich bags & Aluminum Foil, because they don't eat them. As you say, there's something there. Still to me it's wierd that people don't even know the symbols and there's no uniform symbol for the process. If that is the case, just like the FDA or USDA, there should be one symbol for the process. But there's different symbols, where I guess it's used to regulate to which organization the funds for certification should go (so everybody gets their cut it seems).

And when you get right down to it, doesn't that sound like an "extra" service that "the consumer needing the service" should pay for? But we pay to make things up to their standards, that shit sounds crazy however you say it! "You're going to make things up to my standards and pay me for doing it"! It's bullshit!

The FDA can easily create a symbol saying "there's no meat or milk in this product" that is free to use by those doing the process if millions of non-jewish Americans need the service. Just like they do with "caffine", "Nutrisweet", "Splenda" and now on "Trans Fat" and "Organic certifications". But the Gov stands down on the issue, this is the only case i know of that the government lets a seperate entity that has it's own interest, regulate the manufacturing of Goods in the US. I need to get into this racket:crazy:

If it's all it's suppose to be, there's no way it should be surrounded in this much controversy and mystery.

I didn't know there were animal products in either of those items and I doubt many vegans do. Will have to research this. But most vegans are concerned with animal products beyond what they eat. For example, no leather clothing/shoes.

The Kosher label is very much like the Organic label previous to the Federal Government standards, or like the Fair Trade label today. Product makers pay a certifying agency to approve their product and proceed to label it with a specific logo. This allows people to identify easily whether the product they are consididering buying meets their requirements. Obviously those costs are passed along.

The Kosher Tax

McDonald's hamburger and fries for nutrition ?!?

Ell-Oh-Ell!

Better yet, always use your discernment when buying food for you and/or your family ...

... caveat emptor when purchasing at your local market.B)

Political arguments and labeling issues aside, always remember that your health is your most important wealth!

The "Kosher Nostra Scam" on the American Consumer

by Ernesto Cienfuegos (La Voz de Aztlan, article posted at this link)

McDonald’s becomes latest victim of the "Kosher Nostra Scam"

by Ernesto Cienfuegos (La Voz de Aztlan, article posted at this link)

“Kosher Nostra” demands protection money from processed food, beverage producers in trade for product approval--Rabbinical societies bless poisonous products in widespread strongarm scam

by Don Harkins

The "Kosher Tax" Hoax: Anti-Semitic Recipe for Hate
