The Tennessee Center for Policy Research, an independent, nonprofit and nonpartisan research organization committed to achieving a freer, more prosperous Tennessee through free market policy solutions, issued a press release late Monday:



Last night, Al Gore’s global-warming documentary, An Inconvenient Truth, collected an Oscar for best documentary feature, but the Tennessee Center for Policy Research has found that Gore deserves a gold statue for hypocrisy.

Gore’s mansion, located in the posh Belle Meade area of Nashville, consumes more electricity every month than the average American household uses in an entire year, according to the Nashville Electric Service (NES).

In his documentary, the former Vice President calls on Americans to conserve energy by reducing electricity consumption at home.

The average household in America consumes 10,656 kilowatt-hours (kWh) per year, according to the Department of Energy. In 2006, Gore devoured nearly 221,000 kWh—more than 20 times the national average.

Last August alone, Gore burned through 22,619 kWh—guzzling more than twice the electricity in one month than an average American family uses in an entire year. As a result of his energy consumption, Gore’s average monthly electric bill topped $1,359.

Since the release of An Inconvenient Truth, Gore’s energy consumption has increased from an average of 16,200 kWh per month in 2005, to 18,400 kWh per month in 2006.

Gore’s extravagant energy use does not stop at his electric bill. Natural gas bills for Gore’s mansion and guest house averaged $1,080 per month last year.

“As the spokesman of choice for the global warming movement, Al Gore has to be willing to walk to walk, not just talk the talk, when it comes to home energy use,” said Tennessee Center for Policy Research President Drew Johnson.

In total, Gore paid nearly $30,000 in combined electricity and natural gas bills for his Nashville estate in 2006.

The far so-called left are just as single minded & sensational as the 'right' & both paradigms are fake. Just because Gore takes minor precautions to cut down the pollution from his massive energy usage doesn't give it a pass & remember it's okay for him to use all this but not you because global warming is a real problem.

I was on the inconvenient truth mail group, and I never recieved anything pertaining to global warming, just a bunch of hippie meditation crap and stuff of that sort. BTW: look at what company produced An Inconvienent Truth

I'm beginning to question this whole global warming thing, not from the standpoint of is it really happening or not, but what is the modivation of pushing this agenda? Could one reason be to possibly trick the sheeple into using less power so those like Gore can then nondescriminately use all they want without having to worry about rolling blackouts? How about to set the stage to sell overpriced low-quality power equipment such as solar-panels and wind generators which last a few years and then require replacing... or simply going without, which would lead to eventual death in many peoples cases, but.....isn't that the main agenda anyway? To decrease the global population to around 500 million? Who is to choose who lives and who dies? Maybe it's those who are intelligent enough with the proper resources who'll be the ones "allowed" to survive. Allowed - meaning, if you can handle it, your good to go, if not, you die.

The power grids aren't really being upgraded to handle any more capacity are they? Why not? Where did all the hydroelectric power generating stations go which were built by the WPA years ago? Striped and dismantled, for what reason?

Too many questions, not enough answers.

a team from the German television network did their reports from the EU summit about global warming, where the German councellor Merkel talket much about reducing emissions. But they filmed not only in the interior, they also filmed outside, in the parking lot where all those SUV's and limousines of the EU members were parked. It's a joke, and I am glad the TV team showed these images, so the whole German speaking population of Europe could see this ridiculous hypocricy.

The way 'Global Warming' came about was due to 'Them' spreading it in the first place (making it up!)
