Yes, understanding history like this will be very useful throughout your life. However, you'll have to learn all sorts of other history to get your grades - the sort of history they teach you, and allow you to be taught - in no way this stuff.

Would be interesting if you could talk to your economics/history teachers perhaps about doing a few lessons/research on families like The Rothschilds.... it's all history;)
