A Chinese judge charged with corruption has died in his cell from what the official Chinese press is calling "adult sudden death syndrome".

The Xinhua news agency reports that 38-yar-old Li Chaoyang had been uncooperative while in detention in southwestern China.

Li, a judge with a local County Court, was detained last month, accused of taking bribes.

Investigators say his death conforms with adult sudden death syndrome, and that despite cuts to his face and other injuries, he had not been mistreated.

The also denied that the judge had been tortured.

"Adult sudden death syndrome"? Is this the latest psychiatry inspired synonym for what once simply was referred to as "suicided"?

We, the governments of the world, cannot give embarrassing explanations and revelations to the public regarding internally generated crime, oh no no no this is way to dangerous for the preservation of the status quo... So let's give them a surrogate appeasement, let's give them.... labels instead.... Since the public generally is so dumbed down that'll gain acceptance.... yeah...
