Use peerguardian and keep it updated everyday--use the Ads, Govt, Spyware, and P2P lists. The P2P is most important list of all of them. Also there is no guarantee just because you use peer guardian that your immune to the baddies, it only reduces your chances of getting letters like this. Stay away from anything under control of RIAA/MPAA, it's all crap anyways and not worth it. I also suggest disabling DHT network, as it can be a security risk. I see way too many hits from China with DHT enabled (not my favorite country for p2p connections).

There is music which is not under the RIAA, but the selection is smaller. There are some web sites that tell you what artists fall under RIAA.

Anyone who uses µtorrent or emule should definately use this

and if you are after the µtorrent version you will easily see the links

It is an incredibly huge ip filter list which is updated frequently
and can easily be updated with a click of a mouse at any time
saving you from having to go look for the list elsewhere.

place utorrent ip filter updater in the same folder as C:\Documents and Settings\admin\Application Data\uTorrent
then extract utorrent ip filter updater there. Better still read the below.

Install Instructions:

From Group:
start-run-%appdata%-utorrent-paste into-click on the updater-close utorrent-
run update short cut desktop-run utorrent

More Detailed:
go ...to...start....press run.....type in....%appdata%...another window opens......you will see utorrent folder...open it..copy and paste the updater in there.....install it...you get a desktop short cut.....click on it....it updates....while your doing this shut utorrent and after you have finished updating ..open utorrent....

To test if it works, while in utorrent, go to the Logger Tab towards the bottom. It should say something like "Loaded ipfilter.dat (199406 Entries)"

I got a somewhat similar letter from paramount, via the
provider i used to have connected to a university.
All it requested was for me not to share Dune through ED2K
eversince i removed it ...no problems.
It's just to scare you,. i would assume if you just remove Truman Show, you'll be fine.
