End Times Delusions

Ok, so I'm reading this book called 'End Times Delusions' by Steve Wohlberg, a guy I really admire. I have to emphasize that he is an American Jew, and is truly committed to the Word.

I took a few notes after listening to him on Jack McLamb so I will summarize many of the areas where he believes Christians have been deluded and through some careful reading of scripture, I have to fully agree with him in many areas. (I haven't finished the book, but it's very good)

To begin with:

Who are the Chosen ones?

Galatians 3:28

There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

Ephesians 2: 14-16
For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; 15having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; 16and that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:

Romans 10: 12, 13
12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 13For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

In John 3:16 he was talking to the Jews:
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

1948 Israel
Did God really give his seal of approval so to speak?

The belief today is (and since the time of 1948) that God regathered Israel, even though they were in unbelief.

Hebrews 13:8 states Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

Bible history always shows that God would not fight for Israel when they were in unbelief, and would not bring them in the land when they were in unbelief.

Moving forward to 1948, are we saying that God changed? Israel is in unbelief today and roughly 99% of the people are secular.

People believe that because Israel won battles that God somehow had a hand in it. If that were the case, couldn't the same be said about Hitler? Germany won many, many battles did they not? That doesn't mean that God was behind Hitler, nor does it mean he was behind Israel. (and on that note, we have been taught a different history about Israel's battles, the first battle in 1948 there were 90,000 + Israeli's fighting 60,000 + arabs...so who was over-matched? In 1967, Israel pre-emptively struck their enemy and had the backing of the U.S., a super power.)

Did God use the U.N., who openly wants a NWO, to fulfill Bible prophecy?

Deuteronomy 30: 1-3 is are the verses referenced by people to suggest this is the 1948 prophecy. Let's have a look at those verses:

1 And it shall come to pass, when all these things are come upon thee, the blessing and the curse, which I have set before thee, and thou shalt call them to mind among all the nations, whither the LORD thy God hath driven thee,


2 And shalt return unto the LORD thy God, and shalt obey his voice according to all that I command thee this day, thou and thy children, with all thine heart, and with all thy soul

3 That then the LORD thy God will turn thy captivity, and have compassion upon thee, and will return and gather thee from all the nations, whither the LORD thy God hath scattered thee.

Ok, looking at verse 2, is Israel really obeying God, and with all thine heart and soul? If 99% of it's people, primarily Jewish Zionists, are secular, and the remaining percentage are Orthodox, or Talmudic Jews, aren't they still rejecting Christ, who is God? This is where Christian Zionism started and it is my belief that Christian's are not reading scripture.

Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

I would highly suggest Wohlberg's book at this point as it shatters the 1948 doctrine and I can hardly do it any justice. The book goes in depth to explain this false doctrine with clarity.

Ezra and Nehemiah both followed God and the scriptures when God brought them back.

It is a superficial theology to believe that God would show favor to a secular theology (zionism). Jesus said if you don't repent you will perish. How could a secular people be the apple of God's eye? They live in as much sin as the United States, hardly the apple of God's eye.

In John Chapter 8, verse 44, speaking to the Pharisees and Sadducees:

Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

He denouced their beliefs then, so if he doesn't change, he denounces their beliefs now.They are not a spirit filled people.

Something else the Christian Zionists need to understand is the fact that it is against the law to proselytize in Israel. Is God behind this? Preventing people to bring him to His Son? Jesus is the Lamb of God.

Do not worship your pastors. James 3 states that those who teach wil be judged more strictly. Worship Christ. Your pastors and preachers are teaching a false doctrine.

Ephesians 2: 14-17 (repeated)

These verses break down the wall between Jew and gentile and through the cross brought us together as one:

Hal Lindsay believed that Matthew 24:32 (fig tree parable) refers to the 1948 delusion and he also believed that 40-years after 1948 that the rapture would come. Didn't happen, but as Steve points out in his book, there is only 1-coming and that the rapture is another delusion.

However he, (Lindsay) only looked at one verse but there is another. Lets compare the two:

A reference to just Israel?

Matthew 24:32
Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:

Luke 21:29
And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees;

Jesus also said in Matthew 24, "Let no man deceive you" but apparently Lindsay and many, many others glossed over that.

It is Steve's contention, among others, that the rapture, tribulation and 1948 are all false prophecy due to mans misinterpretation.

Genesis 12:

Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee:

2And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:

3And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

First off, God was talking to Abraham. Many use this as a way to hinder us from cursing Israel. Steve suggests that the meaning here is that: all families of the earth shall be blessed since Jesus is the blessing coming through the blood line of Abraham. We cannot ignore this part of the scripture either:
and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
