Astral Projection
Keep trying... you can at least meditate, right? Just keep meditating, keep exercising your ability to reach and maintain your focus on what is known as your still point, when you are completely aware but not focused on anything, and all the chatter in your mind is completely quiet.

Astral Projection
Just stick with it. Meditate without the expectation of results, without any anticipation. Worry will disrupt your meditation.

Astral Projection
there was quite a good thread about it on the old boards
for whoever's interested. It not something i've sought to experience, but i can identify somewhat with a meditative state of projective transcendence. If Thine I that I spy with my own little I Doeth Offend thee ; Pluck It out. |

i heard lots about this from a cpl guys i went to high school with. they had quite the stories. i wanted to do it right bad like, but never was able to. i was trying it for a bit too a few months ago. but still wasnt able to do it. i smoke a few joints before i go to bed so i suspect this might be hindering the possibility. but i cant sleep without joints.

It doesnt work if you smoke joints. I know that for sure. Before I smoked all the time I did have a couple of OBEs. Well it seemed like it did, maybe there were just dreams. Before the OBEs I did experience the falling through the bed sensation, then the flying. It was quite cool. |

Astral Projection
As I understand it, there are 2 basic methods to learning astral projection.
Basically labelled, I'd call them "active" and "passive". Active is the sort you'd find most commonly alluded to, where by it is acheived through meditative techniques and manipulation of ones energetic body to achieve the desired affect. There are many techniques along these lines, easily found all over the net. Here is an example: http://www.freewebs.com/jedikaren/howtoap.htm Passive is when it occurs naturally, usually in a dream state. Astral projection is not some special ability reserved for an elect few, but rather a natural extension of human consiousness, an aspect common to all humans. Most people have out of body/astral experiences while dreaming. Many practices of lucid dreaming take this into account. Dream Yoga and the Practice of Natural Light by Namkhai Norbu is a book along these lines that I can reccomend (and possibly make available). The passive practice is considerably different, and rarely involves projecting to the "real time physical plane" its self (which is commonly assumed), but rather tends to reflect subconsiouss attractions to aspects of "areas" of the mental/spiritual plane, based on the individual. This often involves dreaming of the future, or learning information in dreams which you would otherwise have no physical reason for knowing, at least in my experience. The expereinces, or "dreams" you have in this state will seem to be very real, if not "more real" that physical reality. Study of the "passive" concept can in many respects, give one a deeper understanding of the dynamic at work over the course of your entire life, at the very least, lowering the barriers somewhat, between the consiouss and "subconsiouss". In short, the basic way to learn or activate the passive pratice, is to try and become aware that you are dreaming, when you are dreaming. Its not easy, but its not really that hard either... I've haven't yet been successful with "active" techniques, and I don't try them often, but I know I have been pretty close. @byrd. In my experience, smoking up within 2 hours of going to bed will usually ruin it for me. The third alternative, is to take a shit load of psilocybin mushrooms(5 grams or more depending on quality), and lay down and close your eyes when you start to peak. I can't reccomend it for everyone in good faith though.... Wyrd bi∂ ful aræd : Vituð ér enn eða hvat? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ![]() ![]()

Astral Projection
I've gotten my arms out numerous times. The first time it happened it scared the bejeses out of me, cause I didn't know what was happening. I had been doing my chi-gung excerises every day for a few months and I was listining to some bineral beats and my arms felt like they were floating way above my head, at the same time I new they were lying flat on the couch. I paniced and then they came back down to where my physical arms actually layed. It was amazing. I haven't had a full projection yet.
Read the book Astral dynamics by robert bruce. There was a audio file of ropert bruce on the tracker as well, it really helps in understanding. |

Astral Projection
A continual and careful experimentation with dimethyltryptamine has yielded some results for myself. But in those altered states of consciousness it's difficult to ascertain what's happening. It's difficult to acquire Yopo which should be injested along with ayahuasca. I've yet to be able to accomplish it through sober meditation. But that doesn't stop me from trying.

Astral Projection
I have had the arm thing on a really stong dose of shrooms.
I've been completely out several times on salvia. DMT warps me so far out I have no clue where I am. Both the DMT and Salvia experiences lead to conversations with entities that I cannot explain. |
