Thanks solar! I don't claim to have all the answers but I am enjoying my time here. I appreciate all the responses to my posts and the few threads I've started. Excuse my clumsy sense of humour I don't set out to offend anyone but I do like pushing idols! Thanks to all the mods and ops and so on for putting up with me and being so insightful and mature. Ive had a lot of fun being able to express myself and hope that you people have gained at least another viewpoint from some of my more crazy threads - like the earth is not moving. :biggrin:
I'll continue to add and add to these threads as I find new stuff. One thing I considered are creating videos of the landscapes of mars. Displayed as 3d models they will use displacement maps derived from aerial photographs. What each video would be is a'fly' around each object. It has been suggested to try this technique on aerial photos on other planets as well! This method is 100% accurate as per the NASA maps. However I am busy and if anyone wants to take up this idea feel free. I've given it a test and it can be done in blender(free modelling program). On another program I was even able to fly around in realtime (before it crashed). Ill be going to the cinema on sunday with relatives - watching fantastic four silver surfer! |
