challenging authority

Hi The Mekon - I just put that question out to ponder more or less. It has to do with looking ahead, fearing, planning, it should be looked at.

I think it's helpful to always be able to answer yes to that question, and if not, wonder why you don't. It helps us to live for the moment. Not being afraid of death and the transformation of your flesh would more easily allow a feeling to arise in life; That self preservation is just as important and sometimes second to preserving and respecting any other life. In fact, they would become synonamous.

I asked you if you had put your faith in the future of technology to gain a better understanding of how you see yourself in the world. Basically, do you want to be dependant on technology (machines that make machines), and are you living to make this technology go further?

Do you believe you were Made, Grown , or Chance?

You said that "Birds seperate themselves from their environment when they make nests", I don't agree.
Birds are working WITH the environment to help make it happen. They give back as much as they take. If we rely on someone to GIVE us the liberty to take something, then we'll take as much as the liberty allows. Our Culture makes nests that barely resemble nature. Our cities are seen as seperate worlds from "the forest out there". Even when we are in or near the forest (or the bush as its called here), you can see how people have littered and have complete disrespect and alienation.

Hi motherandrust: Yes, your post makes sense, I agree, we're just knowing "it" in our own ways. I think that we won't ever be able to know it in words or symbols, only by feeling and understanding.

The reason why I am so caught up in discussing symbols is because I think they are the main reason there is so much ignorance, which in turn cause disrespect and war. It is necessary for equal give and take to try and dissolve symbology as much as possible, or at least not allow it to control us. Symbols are walls that block us from expiriencing the totality of what the symbol is trying to represent.

I think the world is suffering because we haven't challenged authority, and if we don't challenge authority, we are not challenging ourselves (our thinking). Not knowing ourselves is causing us to cling to the most advertised symbols and ideas. It's worse than stepping in gum, or poo... it's much harder to scrape away at things that have had a hold on a part of our thoughts for years.

Technologies, and other Methodologies that are driven by the side of Take, will automatically work in unbalanced ways, no matter what band aids they come up with.

We seperated ourselves from the system of life-in-balance when we first believed that we could take more than we could give back and remain in "harmony".
