The god of reflections
33rd Degree Freemason Manly P. Hall called it "the god of reflections"
interesting occult image - 'The Ancient One' with a crown perched over a pool of water reflecting his image - symbolizing an occult maxim "as above, so below", but notice his arms making the symbol of the Hexagram (Star of David) and the Maltese Cross on his chest.
I know there is probably all kinds of esoteric knowledge behind this image as well, but seeing the main symbol adopted by the Zionists and the main symbol adopted by the SMOM all in one occult image in pretty interesting.

edit: This probably should be moved...didnt realize where I made the thread, sorry.

Off the top of my head it's a Caballistic image co-opted by the Freemasons. I believe it's in Manly P. Hall's "The Secret Teachings of All Ages". I'm away from that reference right now, but I'll have to check later, unless someone else can beat me to it.

Yes HHQ, that is where its from.

The oldest hexagrams have been found on temples in India (as i recall), where the original jews migrated from, according to the 1st century jewish historian, Josephus.

Considering the precision in mathematical symbols employed by most groups interested in such matters, I'd guess this image is nothing more than early satire.

If it was genuine, I'd imagine the lettering around the image wouldn't look like bad graffiti.

From what I remember, that particular hexagram was also known as Solomon's Seal and is supposed to represent the adage "As above, so below" which is a primary principle in Kabbalah. This saying was lifted from the original ancient Kemetic (Egyptian) principle taught within the famed mystery schools of antiquity. It was known as the second Hermetic Axiom of Djehuty (Thoth).

Since you've brought it up, its the first time I've noticed a Maltese Cross in the center of it.

There is enough stuff going on in this image to keep a researcher busy for a very long time. I'm sure it would easily fill a documentary all by itself.

The inscriptions are in Latin, which denotes the Freemasonic origination of this image rather than Kabbalah.
Deciphered it reads:

Quod Superius = That which is Superior

Quod Inferius = That which is Inferior

Macroprosopus = Macro-countenance (Large face)

Microprosopus = Micro-countenance (Small face)

Stola Dei = Garment of God

Sicut = Thus

The Ouroboros, or Serpent devouring its own tail is meant as a cyclical continuation or eternal cycle.

The Cross Pattée (Cross of Paws) is a design that heralds back to the Knight's Templar and is used to denote the mark of a crusade or crusader. Which was the same intent used by the Nazis when they incorporated it's use as the Eisernen Kreuz or Iron Cross.

The Tau Cross is a symbol that represents a gate or opening, symbolic death or blood sacrifice.

* I have no conclusive form of reference for the folded pyramid that looks like a folded paper ship. If I had to hazard a guess based on my knowledge, I'd have to say it means secret, or secrecy. Due to the symbolic pyramid 'folded' upon itself that conceals it base yet reveals portions.

A rough translation of it's entirety in my personal estimation, would most likely read:

This is a group that will be eternal and enduring on its own crusade and clothed in the vestments of God. Lording over the entirety of phases of this world in [secrecy] and infernal occult knowledge.

I spent almost an hour looking for that word kept trying to spell it horubus [sic] for some reason.

great post HHQ. very informative. Also, that folded pyramid when you connect the one from above to the one below also makes another hexagram.

Yes to me I see the As Above, So Below Duality common in the secret orders.

The Red Cross / Templar Cross or Malta Cross is important.

As its the Mark of Cain. Cain was the Master of the Great Secret, That one may murder and get gain. He was known as the first Master Mahan / Mason.

I made a video about the Red Cross Mark of the Merovingian Bloodline of Cain, its on my youtube page:
