God Myths and Fables
Quote:Should we base this life on fiction, myths and fables? I challenge anyone to
provide 'objective verifiable evidence' that their god actually exists.

Why do people believe in THOUSANDS of Gods? Again there is NO - NADA
objective verifiable evidence for the existence of any real Gods. They are
all based on ancient copies of texts written by hundreds of other men of
totally unknown veracity. There are no original documents in existence
because they were written on parchment which rotted away thousands of years
ago! All that exists are copies of copies etc. of unknown authenticity and
veracity.

Isn't it logically obvious that if any of these documents were the word of
any 'real' god that he would have taken steps to preserve them and
demonstrate their authenticity? They are not historically factual but are
mostly myths, fables, contradictions and impossible tales.

Of all these different Gods and belief systems which is the true one, if
any, and which are fakes? None of the ancient religious documents are any
objective 'evidence'. They are all documents hand written, hand copied,
interpreted, modified and further copied, over the centuries, by errant men
with their own personal and selfish motivations. These documents were all
written a thousand and more years before the invention of the printing
press.

All religions are ALL based on ancient myths and fables and NO god has
directly AUTHENTICATED ANY of them.

Man can directly communicate with the whole world via TV, the Internet,
Phone and Radio and the postal service. IF there is a real God, why does he
not announce to the whole world from his heaven, by at least an equally
effective means, that he is the real God and all the others are fakes? And
why does he not tell us clearly and directly what he expects from us instead
of using hundreds of vague, ancient, contradictory, unoriginal documents,
compiled by different religions and hundreds of men of unknown veracity? Why
does he not expose and smite all the false gods?

I'll tell you why. The real objective evidence is that no Gods CREATED MAN
but quite the opposite; that man created gods!

There are thousands of different religious and god beliefs. Here is a list
of most of these;

God Myths and Fables
Quote:The children of Israel were never slaves in Egypt. Neither did they
roam through the desert of Sinai for forty years nor conquer the land
of Canaan by force. This was revealed by Zeev Herzog, professor of
archaeology at the University of Tel Aviv.

"The biblical epoch has never occurred. After 70 years of excavations,
the archaeologists have reached a frightening conclusion: it

is simply not true," Herzog wrote in the Israeli newspaper Ha'aretz.
Most Israeli archaeologists agree on the fact that the biblical Exodus
from Egypt does not correspond to historical facts. Experts have
also accepted that Joshua did not conquer the town of Jericho in a
single battle and that the town walls did not fall at the blast of
trumpets. The archaeologist Adam Zertel at the University of Haifa
also knows that the wandering in the desert is a myth.

According to Herzog, David and Solomon never ruled over a mighty
empire, it was just a little tribal kingdom without any power. Jerusalem,
which was captured by King David, was just a feudal estate.

God Myths and Fables
Quote:The British quantum physicist Paul Davies, however, postulates in
his interesting book "God and the New Physics" (1983) that "a ruling
universal consciousness utilises the laws of nature for a determined
purpose". In his opinion, quantum physics is the surest way to find
God today. Paul Davies writes in an article: "The very fact that the
universe is in the process of creation and that its laws have allowed
complex structures to come into existence and develop into conscious
life, is for me a strong testimony that something is happening behind the
scenes
. I find it impossible to deny the impression that everything is
planned..." (Svenska Dagbladet, 3 March 1989, p. 14)

God Myths and Fables
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jungian_archetypes

The "gods" are externalizations of, and metaphors for what lies within the human psyche.

They are just as real as you and I, they are made of the same thing, fundamentally.
Energy, patterns that exist collectively in the human mind, perhaps the universal mind (if you accept such concepts) its self.

So yeah, I take my "gods" with my everywhere I go, and everywhere my mind goes.

Did you ever see your brains? Prove they exist. Just cause you can't see something doesn't mean it doesn't exist. I have a feeling that brains are for a greater purpose than just accepting physical proof. It's incredible how the brain works! It's made out of just water and fats and cholesterol, and runs on chemical transmitting electrical currents. Wow, just THINK it all happen by accident too, ha!

&What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies with in us.&

We don't know a millionth of one percent about anything. — Thomas Edison

I could cut my brains out of my head... or get a MRI

anyone trying to argue in this topic is dumb because there is no way to fault the logic in it.

I mean what are you going to say the Christian god is real because there's more Christians on this planet? Just cause a majority is present doesn't validate anything.

Oh yeah and just because humans aren't smart enough to comprehend everything doesn't prove there's a god either... It just proves that we aren't that smart.

To believe in a God requires faith and as you should know faith means belief without proof.

This kind of reasoning is what helped me finally step towards atheism when I was 10. I haven't looked back and couldn't see myself doing it either.

I'm not going to say there couldn't be a higher power, just not a highest power. The fractal nature of our universe, with the whole macrocosm microcosm thing going on would suggest that there should be things or consciousness' greater than ours. The only thing is that there should be ones greater than them and so on and on....

There is no top of the food chain in infinity my friends, but a comforting note to consider is that there's also no bottom.

There are more of the names of God on this page than there are those arguing no existance of God.
in so many cultures the names of God are chanted on beads.
Gods name and his name is non different so your very act of finding those names Ephilution was a nice prayer in itself.

like that comment

&Alice laughed, &There's no use trying,& she said: &one can't believe impossible things.& &I daresay you haven't had much practice,& said the Queen. &When I was your age I always did it for half-an-hour a day. Why, I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast.&
- Lewis Carroll

&Things are seldom as they seem ... Skim milk masquerades as cream.&
- Gilbert and Sullivan (Pinafore)

At NASA, it really is rocket science, and the decision makers really are rocket scientists.
But a body of research that is getting more and more attention points to the ways that smart people working collectively can be dumber than the sum of their parts. .. Irwin Janis? &Groupthink:& is a mode of thinking that people engage in when they are deeply involved in a cohesive in-group, when the members' striving for unanimity override realistic appraisals ? It is the triumph of concurrence over good sense, and authority over expertise.&
