The Italian journal Panorama wrote that Ellie de Rothschild arranged the necessary amount of money for the Masonic hanging of banker Roberto Calvi, who either had or was about to "talk" against the P-2.67 Henry Kissinger was directly involved at the top of the lodge.

In Papa, Mafya, Agca (The Pope, The Mafia and Agca), Ugur Mumcu, a prominent Turkish journalist wrote, "Henry Kissinger is a member of the Monte Carlo lodge, which is the P-2's 'board of directors,' also known as the Monte Carlo Committee. All the members of this lodge are Grand Masters and Masons of the 33rd degree."68

The alliance between the P-2 and Israel or to be more specific, with Mossad is illustrated by ex-Mossad agent Victor Ostrovsky in The Other Side of Deception, published in 1994 after his other greatly controversial book, "By Way of Deception".

Ostrovsky writes that <span style="color:#33CCFF">Licio Gelli, P-2's Grand Master, was the ally of Mossad in Italy and that Gelli also had a close relationship with the Gladio contra-guerilla group, allied with Mossad and that Mossad used this Gelli-Gladio alliances for its arms dealings with Italy in the 1980s.

During the 1930s, Licio Gelli volunteered for the "Black Shirt" expeditionary forces sent by Mussolini to Spain in support to Francisco Franco[1], and subsequently became a liaison officer between the Italian blackshirt government and the Third Reich, with contacts including Hermann Göring. He participated in the Italian Social Republic with Giorgio Almirante, founder of the neofascist Italian Social Movement (MSI).[2][3].

After a sales job with the Italian mattress factory Permaflex, Gelli founded his own textile and importing company.[1][3]

After World War II

Gelli collaborated with American and English intelligence agencies after World War II. Gelli also joined the neofascist MSI, which gave him parliamentary immunity. In 1970, he was to arrest the President during the failed Golpe Borghese.[citation needed] As headmaster of Propaganda Due (P2) masonesque lodge, Gelli had ties with very high level personalities in Italy and abroad, in particular in Argentina. The Argentine Chancellor Alberto Vignes drafted with Juan Perón, who had returned from exile in 1973, a decree granting to Gelli the Gran Cruz de la Orden del Libertador in August 1974, as well as the honorary office of economic counsellor in the embassy of Argentina in Italy [4]. According to a letter sent by Gelli to César de la Vega, a P2 member and Argentine ambassador to the UNESCO, Gelli commissioned P2 member Federico Carlos Barttfeld to be transferred from the consulate of Hamburg to the Argentine embassy in Rome [4]. Licio Gelli was also named plenipotentiary minister for cultural affairs in the Argentine embassy in Italy, thus providing him with diplomatic immunity [4]. He had four diplomatic passports issued by Argentina, and has been charged in Argentina of falsification of official documents [4].

As headmaster of Propaganda Due, Gelli allegedly assumed a major role in Gladio's "strategy of tension" in Italy, starting with the 1969 Piazza Fontana bombing. Gladio was a clandestine "stay-behind" operation sponsored by the CIA and NATO to counter communist influence in Western European countries, which has been involved in terrorist false flags operations in Italy.[5][6][7][8]

In 1990, a report on RAI Television alleged that the CIA had paid Licio Gelli to foment terrorist activities in Italy [9]. Following this report, which also claimed that the CIA had been involved in the assassination of the Swedish Prime minister Olaf Palme, then President Francesco Cossiga requested the opening of investigations, while the CIA itself officially denied these allegations [10] Critics have dismissed the RAI report as a fraud because of the inclusion of testimonies from controversial Richard Brenneke, who had claimed to be a former CIA agent and made several declarations concerning the October surprise conspiracy. Brenneke's background was also investigated by a U.S. Senate subcommittee, which dismissed Brenneke's claims of CIA employment.[11]

The Gladio affair has been treated by the courts as having no sensible connection with the P2 affair.

To help ferret out dissidents, Gelli and De Lorenzo began compiling personal dossiers on thousands of people, including legislators and clerics. 26 Within a few years, scandal erupted when an inquiry found 157,000 such files in SID, all available to the Ministers of Defense and Interior. 27 Parliament ordered 34,000 files burned, but by then the CIA had obtained duplicates for its archives. 28

The information I transcribe regarding this encounter is from news reports by CatolicaNet (January 18, 2005, online) and the National Catholic Reporter (January 20, 2005, “Word from Rome,” online).

Appraising the meaning of the meeting, rabbi Jack Bemporad, director of the Center for Inter-Religious Understanding (CIU), declared, “For the first time in History, rabbis from all branches of Judaism met in Rome to thank a Pontiff.” Among the important rabbis present were the president of the college of rabbis of New York, the ex-chief rabbi of Europe and France, the chief rabbi of Jerusalem, and the chief rabbi of Rome.

Bemporad emphasized the post-Vatican II change of position, saying, “In the world’s History, the last 40 years will be regarded as the most revolutionary and important in Jewish-Christian relations.”

Recalling some of the ground-breaking landmarks, he pointed out that John Paul II was the first Pope in History to visit a synagogue; this Pontiff also established diplomatic relations with Israel, and asked forgiveness for the combat the Church has always made against Judaism (CatolicNet).

This was the largest papal audience ever with a group of Jews. Normally when the World Jewish Congress or the Anti-Defamation League visits John Paul II, the delegation is composed of no more than 15 to 20 persons.

Rabbi Joseph Ehrenkranz from Connecticut said that while some Catholics "don't know" about the revolution that happened since Vatican II, many Jews "don't believe it." In that light, Ehrenkranz said, the January 18 audience was an opportunity for Jewish leaders to publicly acknowledge that the transformation is real.

Rabbi Gary Krupp, who initiated the plan to bring 160 rabbis to the Vatican, praised John Paul II in a solemn speech: "You have defended the Jewish people at every opportunity, as a priest in Poland and in your pontificate." He recalled John Paul's 1986 visit to the Roman synagogue, the first by a Pope since the time of the early church, and his 2000 trip to Israel.

Enigmatically, Krupp also added that<span style="color:#33CCFF"> John Paul II embodies the "spirit of Aaron, the high priest of ancient Israel."

After he finished his speech, three rabbis blessed John Paul in Hebrew and English. One part of the ceremony was open to the press, another was closed. No reports about the latter (National Catholic Reporter).

Why were these rabbis given such a spectacular gathering at the Vatican? The official explanation was that the event celebrated the 40th anniversary of the approval of the conciliar declaration Nostra aetate, which took a progressivist approach regarding Jews and Muslims.

I don’t believe that this is the real reason. First, because the 40th anniversary of Nostra aetate will occur only on October 24, 2005, too distant a date to generate a special festivity in January. Second, because the week of January 16-22, when this audience was granted, has been dedicated to Catholic-Jewish relations. It seems to me the real reason lies in the background of this fact. Let me explain.

On January 20, 1842, Alphonse Ratisbonne, a young French Jew from an important banking family in Strasbourg and close relation to the Rothschilds, witnessed an apparition of Our Lady and immediately converted from Judaism to the Catholic Church. His conversion, which took place in Rome, represented a spectacular victory of Our Lady over Judaism that had enormous repercussions in Italy, France, and the whole Catholic world. The devotion of Our Lady of the Miracle was born on that occasion and the Basilica of Sant’Andrea delle Fratte, where the miracle took place, became a center of special prayer for the conversion of the Jews (for the whole story, click here).

Alphonse Ratisbonne and his brother, Theodore, who had converted also, became priests and founded a new religious institution – <span style="color:#33CCFF">the Congregation of Our Lady of Sion – dedicated to the conversion of Jews from their perfidious religion to the Catholic Church.

Fifty years later, on January 17, 1892, the Vatican Capitolo granted the special honor for the picture of Madonna del Miracolo (Our Lady of the Miracle), which was crowned as Queen.

This Vatican act was an endorsement of a growing popular devotion to Our Lady of the Miracle, an indirect approval of the commemoration of the conversion of Alphonse Ratisbonne, and a blessing of the general aspiration for the conversion of the Jews. Since that time, every year the week including the two dates of January 17 and 20 was dedicated to celebrate these events.

As should be expected, after Vatican II, the progressivist Holy Sees of Paul VI and John Paul II froze those festivities. But not only this. When I visited Rome in January 1993, I saw that the week had been re-directed to commemorate the precise opposite. That is to say, there was no more mention of the conversion of the Jews, and everything was designed to celebrate Catholic-Jewish inter-confessional dialogue. Throughout Rome, ecumenical events were scheduled with this aim. These inter-confessional commemorations have continued up to the present time.

Therefore, the January 18 audience granted to the large assembly of rabbis made up part of the week of Catholic-Jewish dialogue of 2005.

I wonder if in this last January event, we didn’t take another step on the road of destruction of the traditional Catholic position. That is, it was an opportunity for the Jews to state openly and officially that Judaism is the “true” religion, without any need for conversion to the Catholic Church. Judaism would be so “true” that 160 rabbis came to Rome to proclaim this and “bless” the Head of the Catholic Church with their sinister rituals.

In practical terms, the rabbis would have gone to the Vatican to revenge the conversion of Ratisbonne, to deny that he needed any such thing, and to present the apparition of Our Lady of the Miracle as irrelevant and foolish.The whole episode represented, in my opinion, a great symbolic outrage to Holy Mother Church propitiated by the present day Pope.

The conversion of Ratisbonne took place 163 years ago. Was the number of rabbis who visited the Vatican – around 160 – meant to match the number of years that have passed since it occurred? I don’t have data to make any serious conclusion about that.

The fundraising dinner drew over 100 guests to celebrate the Center's 10th anniversary and presentation of the Nostra Aetate Award to R. <span style="color:#FF0000">James (Jim) Nicholson, United States Ambassador to the Holy See. The award is named for the Second Vatican Council's Declaration on the Relationship of the Church to Non-Christian Religions.

In attendance were Dr. Anthony J. Cernera, president of Sacred Heart University, Most Reverend William E. Lori, Bishop of Bridgeport, Rabbi David H. Lincoln, spiritual leader of the Park Avenue Synagogue, and Reverend Michael Moynihan, pastor of St. Michael's Church, Greenwich, and Chairman of the Board for the CCJU.

Fr. Moynihan acted as emcee for the evening and began by briefly describing the history between Christians and Jews since the 1965 document, Nostra Aetate, was issued, and the outpouring of Catholic and Protestant Christian documents which rejected any anti-Semitism or teaching of contempt. Among many events, he highlighted the 1986 visit of Pope John Paul II to the Great Synagogue in Rome, the 1993 formal diplomatic recognition of the State of Israel by the Vatican, and the pilgrimage by Pope John Paul II to Jerusalem where in 2000 he prayed at the Western Wall, and visited the Holocaust memorial at Yad Vashem. His visit was called by the Prime Minister Barak, “the climax of this historic journey of healing.”

Bishop Lori offered an invocation and was followed by Dr. Cernera who remembered with gratitude the pioneers of the movement for interreligious dialogue, especially between the Christian and Jewish faiths, who took risks and worked for a better world. A cofounder of the Center for Christian-Jewish Understanding, Dr. Cernera said, “For the past decade, the Center for Christian-Jewish Understanding of Sacred Heart University has done a remarkable job and has drawn together thousands of people to focus on current religious thinking within Judaism and Christianity and provide forums for dialogue and understanding. There is evidence everywhere that our dreams are steadily being realized—even in the midst of considerable forces that would seek to silence dialogue. This incredible progress is almost unbelievable, but essential as we honor God's command to repair the world.”

Rabbi Joseph H. Ehrenkranz, executive director of the CCJU, also offered some remarks and recalled some of his meetings with Pope John Paul II including April 1994, September 1997, March 2000, and in January 2002, at the Day for Peace in the World in Assisi. He said, “As I look around me, I think that the relationship between Christians and Jews is the best it has been since the beginning of their 2,000-year relationship. For almost 40 years since the 1965 Vatican II document, Nostra Aetate, Jews and Christians have grown in understanding, mutual respect and trust. And yet, never before has there been so much need for dialogue between religions and nations.”

Turning then to Ambassador Nicholson, Rabbi Ehrenkranz said, “Tonight's distinguished honoree reminds us that progress is possible, but the world we live in and the city that hosts us, reminds us that it is not inevitable, nor is it won without heroic effort. Only honest and respectful dialogue can resolve frustration and hatred and lead us to greater understanding and harmony around the world. R. James Nicholson, Ambassador of the United States of America to the Vatican, is an exemplary leader who fosters the work of interreligious dialogue and peace. By protecting the rights and dignity of all, his efforts help to ensure that the world will be a better place for the next generation.”

The recipient of the Nostra Aetate Award and the featured speaker of the evening, Ambassador Nicholson had distinguished himself as a public servant as chairman of the Volunteers of America in Colorado, which is the largest faith-based social service agency in the Rocky Mountain States. He also chaired the Community Concerns Committee of the Denver Bar Association, provided leadership and service to the Listen Foundation and the Colorado Air Quality Control Commission, and many other non-profit endeavors. Ambassador Nicholson is legendary in his tireless work as a fundraiser, political strategist and Chairman of the Republican National Committee. <span style="color:#FF0000">In 1999, he was inducted as a Knight of Malta, one of the highest honors awarded to a Roman Catholic. In 2000, he was given the prestigious Horatio Alger Award, recognizing his achievements from humble beginnings to a position of success, which has enabled him to serve others in America who are less fortunate. Among community honors, Irish America Magazine has named him one of the top 100 Irish Americans in the US. On August 10, 2001, he was sworn in as the <span style="color:#BFBF00">sixth United States of America Ambassador to the Holy See.

In his acceptance remarks, Ambassador Nicholson said that his primary job was “to listen, learn and report, and also try to affect some change.” He also spoke of a famous olive tree that stands in the gardens of Vatican City as a memorial of the first anniversary of diplomatic relations between the State of Israel and the Holy See. He said, “An olive tree is not only a symbol of peace and strength, but it is also a tree that lasts for generations producing fruit and oil, products that enrich our lives. This symbolism also applies to the Jewish-Christian relationship—strong, fruitful and enriching of our lives.”

The Ambassador praised the efforts of the Vatican and the pope especially in the promotion of educational and moral values, and for sponsoring joint efforts that relate to social justice and human rights issues such as helping the poor and homeless, health care, immigration, violence, and hunger. He also decried the rise of anti-Semitism in Europe and the symbols of Judaism including synagogues that had been attacked.

Ambassador Nicholson described the relationship of the Vatican and the United States as “partners in promoting the values of freedom—especially religious freedom, democracy, human rights, peace and justice, and prosperity.” He also expressed his belief that “Jews, too, can now look to the Holy See as a partner to combat anti-Semitism, to promote shared values, to actuate common tenets of belief, to understand more completely the revelation found in the scriptures, and to bring the light of truth to the sometimes murky history of Christian-Jewish relations. . . . Now, partners do not always have to agree with each other on everything, but they do have to understand each other, to be respectful, to allow the other to be fully who they are.”

In a warm endorsement, the Ambassador congratulated the Center on it 10th anniversary and affirmed its critical role in fostering dialogue and greater understanding between religious faiths. He said, “My personal observation is that this is a great Center that is making a significant difference in the world. You provide a national and international forum for dialogue in order to advance greater knowledge. God knows, and since September 11th, we all know the critical need for more love, less hatred, and the acceptance of each other's theological views. Given the technology and mobility of mass destruction that exists today, what you are doing is so important, even more important probably than when you started it 10 years ago.”

After dinner, Rabbi David H. Lincoln of the Park Avenue Synagogue, offered a benediction and prayer for understanding and peace.

Cardinal O'Connor was selected for his commitment to Christian-Jewish dialogue and understanding. "The Cardinal's numerous statements on Catholic-Jewish relations have served to create a harmonious spirit that has a profound effect in the two faith groups. He is among those who have gained the deep affection of both Christian and Jews alike," Rabbi Ehrenkranz said.

The award Cardinal O'Connor received is named after Nostra Aetate, the groundbreaking document which called for a dialogue between Catholic and Jewish people, issued by Vatican II in 1965. This document rejected the depiction of Jews as collectively responsible for the death of Jesus and also rejected any teaching of anti-Semitism or prejudice against Jews.

In his acceptance speech, Cardinal O'Connor recalled his visit to the death camps outside Munich, and his subsequent decision to work at promoting the sanctity of human life. He also stressed that everyone is made in the image and likeness of God.

Senator Lieberman was first elected to the United States Senate in 1988 and formerly served as Connecticut's Attorney General. Rabbi Ehrenkranz said that he was recognized for his work in advocating healthy morality in the media. "His belief and commitment to his faith and his devotion and dedication to our country, coupled with his leadership in fostering a nation of ethical people, are the reasons he was presented with the Distinguished Service Award," Rabbi Ehrenkranz noted.

Media Mogul Rupert Murdoch recently made a $10 million contribution toward the construction of a new Catholic cathedral in Los Angeles. Murdoch has wide holdings in the movie, TV and publishing industries including Fox Television, 20th Century Fox Films, London Times and New York Post newspapers, Harper Collins and Zondervan publishing companies.

But the fact that his TV stations and movie productions are some of the sleaziest, did not stop Los Angeles Cardinal Roger Mahony from anointing him and his wife as members of the <span style="color:#FF0000">Pontifical Order of St. Gregory the Great in January, 1998. This knighthood, bestowed on behalf of the pope, is given to persons of "unblemished character" who have "promoted the interests of society, the [Catholic] Church and the Holy See [Vatican]."

Besides this strange connection, there is an even stranger one. Murdoch is Chairman and Chief Executive of News Corporation which lists as one of its holdings, Zondervan Publishing House, the designated publisher of the New International Version of the Bible (NIV). Although the NIV copyright is held by the International Bible Society, Zondervan has exclusive publishing rights.

Is it just a coincidence that the distribution of the most popular of the modern Bible versions, based on the corrupted Roman Catholic texts, is controlled by a man who contributes heavily to Catholic causes and holds a papal knighthood?

It is also curious that since Murdoch was knighted for his "unblemished character" that he abandoned his wife of 31 years and married one of his "dynamic, tall and gorgeous" female employees who is half his age. When Cardinal Mahony's office was asked if the knighthood honor would be revoked, a spokesman replied, "As far as I know, once you've got it, you've got it for good."

It appears that as long as someone continues to "promote the interests of society, the Church and the Holy See" character blemishes can be conveniently overlooked. Especially if it includes donations in the $10 million range and distribution of the major Bible "perversion" based on Roman Catholic manuscripts.
