Ron Paul a racist?

Here is an article I've dug up from the Dailykos that describes RP's early years and it shows a very disturbing side of him. Here is a quote....

He calls African Americans terrorists and identified by the color of their skin?!!! what the hell is that? I think that is also why people like Alex Jones also support him. Alex has also made subtle points about his discomfort of interracial relationships and oh those evil "Chinese and Mexicans" but when it comes to the Jews its always "They are always trying to kill the Jews" I really don't know whats up with RP and AJ but they seem to be extremely racist but at the same time pro zionist.

he was describing a portion of the american people, it was not his personal belief. it is not 'racist' to say many americans judge people off the base of their skin color. bashing RP legitimately is needed and admirable, however i don't think this is the correct assessment. I would not say paul is racist because of this quote

to his credit, he is atleast representing the voice of those who elected him, which is good

no the thing is he wrote that in a newslatter he used to publish....those are his own beliefs, read the article. I saw it yesterday somewhere else as well. Yes I agree it does represent a large portion of his original base.
What surprizes me the most is that RP's racism hasn't appeared in any of the mainstream media at all. I thought this kind of stuff would make reports gather around him like flies on shit but apparently everybody is just ignoring it apart from a few websites on the internet.
