...and it will...sooner or later, it will. It has to. There is simply no way AmeriKa can go on avoiding this. We are going to "pay the piper" and when we do, we are going to pay it big.

I found this picture to be particularly unsettling...more so knowing it was my country that has caused all of this.

Ah, yes, I can hear Britney Spears as she echoed the sentiment of so many in this country..."Well, I think we should just have faith in our president and trust whatever he says". Ah, Britney, I guess America didn't know what a whack job you, or the country, was then.

So, there you go. This is after all, what you wanted, right? You wanted to "show those towel-heads." I mean, when you wave the flag and say "America kicks ass"...this is what you want, isn't it? Isn't this kicking ass? Come on! These colors don't run. Hell, why waste time, let's just nuke `em...make a parking lot out of their country. Should we just go ahead an bomb Iran now?

What I'm finding is, the more I learn about these people, and their culture, the more I'm starting to think I'm on the wrong side. I sympathize more and more with these people, and less and less with Americans.
Have you ever once stopped and thought, "What if AmeriKa is wrong?" "What if this so called way of life ISN'T for everybody?". Maybe these people who have been fine without us for 5,000 years don't need Rachel Ray, cell phones, prozac and shopping malls.

IRAQ: Education Becomes the New Casualty in Baquba By Ahmed Ali.

Ahmed Ali is IPS' correspondent in Iraq's Diyala province, he works in close collaboration with Dahr Jamail, their U.S.-based specialist writer on Iraq who travels extensively in the region.

Photo: Dhiya Thamer was 6 years old. He was shot on September 16th 2007 dead by gunmen who opened fire on his family's car as they were returning from registering him for his first day in school. His ten year old brother Qusay was wounded in the attack. The lady holding his body is his mother.

Registering for the first day of school...If this were an American mother holding her American child...the world would stop spinning.

When AmeriKa looks like this
For the past 110 years now we've been an imperialistic country. Sooner or later i agree America will look like this when the international community decides to kick our ass and guess what they could to if they wanted to do it...

&Behind the ostensible government sits enthroned an invisible government owing no allegiance and acknowledging no responsibility to the people.& - Theodore Roosevelt

&I have recently been examining all the known superstitions of the world, and do not find in our particular superstition (Christianity) one redeeming feature. They are all alike founded on fables and mythology.& - Thomas Jefferson

I agree completely but the problem is that the "AmeriKans" you reference are most likely not reading this. It's sad I wish they could but they aren't going to even try.
