Taoist Astrology
I've been studying Taoist astrology for a few months now and I'd like to take an opportunity to test my skills on people I don't know personally. If you'd like to hear your Taoist "horoscope" then just tell me you're birth year, (and date if born in January or February) and the hour of the day in which you were born. For example:
1983 - 7:00 pm From this information I should be able to divulge your exact personality characteristics as well as the personalities that are best and least suited to you. So if you're interested, birth hour and year (and day if Jan and Feb) Peace 666 &We grow to recognize form. We grow to label that form. In doing so, do we become more intelligent? Do we become more awakened?& - Siji Tzu 四季子 |

Quote:Go on then trip, Jan 15th, 1972 17:10 hours. (yeah, getting old now..)Cheers, thanks for being my first "random trial." Time to test this stuff... According to your birth year you were born in a yin-metal year of the boar. Yin metal is characterized with the colour silver, so you are a "silver boar." Since metal traits are not intrinsic boar traits, silver boars are perhaps surpassed only by white boars, the yang metal boar, for the strongest and most fortuitous combination of elements. Silver boars are independent and strong willed with intensity and determination. You are brave, focused, and will not sway from your decided path. Metal is the warrior personality, however in your case softened by its yin nature. Therefore you probably prefer competition over conflict, and business or scholastics over sport or the military. Like all boars you have a healthy appetite for sensual delights and have a gourmand's love for fine cousine. Your birth year is a metal year, while the boar is a water sign. Metal alchemically "nurtures" water, therefore you find it easier than most to be successful at endeavors and achieve goals, though not without some hard work. You're also extroverted and enjoy the company of many friends. On the flip side, this strong personality can make you courageous but reckless. Because of your powerful birth sign, you expect much from others and while meaning to be direct you may come across as lacking tact. You also have the tendancy to underestimate others, specifically your competition. You can become intense and over-bearing when challenged and when sufficiently provoked, may angrily lash out. It is important you avoid destructive patterns in your relationships and learn from your mistakes. Avoid repeating former blunders, out of unwillingness to change. Boars by nature are self-satisfied and often resist change. You do best in relationships with strong partners with whom you can share mutual independence and flexibility with. Smothering relationships and fiery personalities conflict with your nature. In addition to your birthsign, your rising sign, determined by your birth hour, determines your outward personality, while your birthsign describes your inner, subconscious quality. Your rising sign is complicated. Essentially, I would describe you as a silver boar, phoenix rising, with monkey interference. You enjoy quite a bit of synchronicity in your signs, it is really quite fascinating. Phoenix signs are determined to succeed and take pride in work well done. This is also a quality of the silver boar. Also, the phoenix is a metal sign. I am sure determination is a strong aspect of your character. Because phoenix qualities so greatly mirror metal boar qualities, the phoenix, though yin, is able to dominate your rising sign. Nonetheless, I think it important to mention the monkey characteristics, because in Taoist teachings, Monkey never loses. His ingenious nature makes him indomitable. In addition, his masculine yang nature will cause him to attempt to dominate the flaky phoenix. On top of all that, monkey is a metal sign as well. So undoubtedly, being born so near the hours of the monkey, his hands have played a part in your character. While boars are fun-loving, optimistic, kind and honest and dislike conflict, this good-to-everyone attitude makes most boars gullible and easily taken advantage of. I would venture to guess you don't suffer this character flaw, thanks to the powerful wit of the monkey. Also, as I said earlier, you probably enjoy natural talents and easy success thanks not only to your birthsign, but the complimentary nature of your monkey-influenced rising sign. In summation, you are a yin-metal (silver) boar, with yin-metal phoenix/monkey rising. Gentle, honest, good-hearted, fun-loving, genuine and deep you prefer strong and close friendships and a stable family life. You probably are more interested in wife and family than sexy one night stands. You take satisfaction in work well done even if it may be difficult for you to motivate yourself. You have a cleverness and wit, combined with a firm center and sense of self. It is phenomenal that you enjoy so many harmonious relationships within your personality. Your water sign weaknesses are alleviated by the metal quality of your birth year, and this is complimented by the metal quality of your rising sign. You see, metal is representative of harvest time and autumn. You were born in the "autumn" time of day, though a little early (that monkey again), which further enhances this really rather fortunate coincidence. I venture to guess you are a quite engaging and successful personality. You should be aware that since your alchemical element is overwhelmingly metal, you will need to be especially careful in maintaining the quality of your lungs. I would recommend breathing exercises and an avoidance of smoking. You may have or develop asthma. I would encourage you to eat bean sprouts, cauliflower, spinach and fish. Specifically I would recommend vitamin D. Be aware of your kidney health as well, and it might not be a bad idea to keep an eye on your bladder and large intestines. If your metal element is unbalanced, it will show itself in a pale, or sickly complexion. This is an indication you are not taking care of yourself, or more accurately, are suffering from an excess in conflict to your nature. You may simply not be being "true to yourself." In order to maintain good health you must learn to accept change and avoid carrying the pain of others. Boars are by nature empathetic, and metal signs are especially vulnerable to sympathy pains. Be aware of others ability to influence your mental health. Your last achilles' heel is fear. Take control over your fear and you will find success in life. Succumb to fear and you will fail. For 2008, expect a prosperous business year though not before a few minor setbacks. Don't get discouraged. All in all it will be a fortuitous year for you. After resting easy in 2007, you are eager to get started in your endeavors, which you may have left on the wayside as of late. You were probably a little free with the cash in 2007, a practice you'll reign in in '08. I hope this was interesting (and accurate.) Let me know what you think. Thanks again for 'participating'. Peace. 666 &We grow to recognize form. We grow to label that form. In doing so, do we become more intelligent? Do we become more awakened?& - Siji Tzu 四季子 |

Cheers trip...
An exceptional reading. Very detailed. I wasn't aware that rising signs figured that much in eastern astrology. My analysis... "Silver boars are independent and strong willed with intensity and determination. You are brave, focused, and will not sway from your decided path." Very true. I've been called indepent to a fault by many. I am very determined to stick to my chosen aims once started. "you expect much from others and while meaning to be direct you may come across as lacking tact." So true, people always say I seem so angry when I speak my mind. Only a couple of months ago I was accused of this when engaged in a bit of public speaking and debate. "You enjoy quite a bit of synchronicity in your signs," Absolutely bang - on. All through my life I've been blessed and fascinated with synchro. 2005 was weird when I was 33...33's were everywhere I looked. I kept a synchro-journal throughout 2006 and it's just a staggering read. "this good-to-everyone attitude makes most boars gullible" Yep, me a few years ago... "I would venture to guess you don't suffer this character flaw, thanks to the powerful wit of the monkey." Me more recently...after learning my lessons. "Boars are by nature empathetic, and metal signs are especially vulnerable to sympathy pains." So true, when I was younger I was the shoulder to cry on for everyone, people would just open up to me. Even by nature "quiet" adults when I was a kid. All in all I'd say you're well versed in the art even after your short study period. I've only replied to things that leaped out at me as ringing true or things that wont incriminate me to admit to;) I'd say a good ninety percent accurate. Well done. debate is the vehicle of truth |

Quote:Cheers trip...Fantastic! Thanks for trying it out. It was a lot of fun. I'm glad it was so accurate. I forgot to tell you, your symbol, or totem, is a cauldron or kettle. Domestic metallic objects really. Unassuming on the surface but possessing great practicality and function. This symbology can be soothing or helpful to your subconscious personality. Quote:1972 - June - 8 o'clock in the evening (getting old now too!! lol)Things went well for eyevolution, so let's see what I can gather about you. 1972 is actually the Year of the Rat, which follows boar. Because eyevolution slipped in before February 15th, he's a boar. You are a Rat. Before you get dismayed, Taoists hold the rat in high regard and the Rat is the first astrological symbol. This is told in various tales of the Rat outwitting the Ox to become the first zodiac sign (or the first to the dying Buddha's side, in Buddhist tradition.) 1972 is a water year and dominated by dynamic, strong, and masculine yang forces. Therefore, you are a yang-water or Black Rat. Your symbol is a cresting wave, full of expectant energy. Your qualities are sensitivity, drive, creativity, passion (esp. for sex), social contracts and the ability to attract others. Because of the double-dose of water qualities (the Rat is a water sign; 1972 a water year), you are more flexible and adaptable in the acquiescence of your desires than other Rats. Though some may look down on you for not understanding their more material superficialities. You are intuitive and emotional and not always rational, intending more to go on the subjective "hunch." Fortunately your intuition is usually reliable for you. The double-edge to this sword is your self-doubting nature, sometimes sabotaging your ability to act. Business matters come difficult to you, as do relationships, but by staying true to your emotions you can survive anything. By utilizing a vehicle for your extreme creativity, you can excel as a writer or artist. Without this release, you may show excess in your emotions or reveal them at inappropriate times. You respond well to a good listening friend able to share advice on your problems and respond well to psychotherapy as well as the cultivation of self-healing through meditation. You are a charming, if frantic or over-active intellectual, but perhaps held back by shyness and the tendency to "nest" at home or other familiar "safehavens." While life may sometimes prove challenging for you, you are likely to be happy in spite of, and perhaps because of, your adversity. Chances are if you venture courageously into the world you will find success. Your rising sign is the Dog. In addition to possessing the trademark loyalty and unselfishness of the dog, you are a trustworthy friend guided by high moral principles. Specific to Black Rats however, is the evening time of your birth. This ensures a hyperactive personality. Combined with the enthusiastic nature of the Dog, I am sure you enjoy vigor and endurance in your pursuits. The Rat and Dog are both yang signs, but since Rat is a water sign and Dog is a metal sign, which are both yin elements, your high/low, masc/fem characteristics are nicely balanced. This makes you a yin-water (Black) yang-Rat with yin-metal yang-Dog rising. See how balanced? You probably enjoy a sense of security in your thoughts and emotions, sure-footedness or confidence if you will. The opposite of someone second guessing themselves. Your crafty and wise Rat nature combined with loyal and self-sacrificing Dog makes you a fantastic friend and wonderful ally. You possess the qualities of the quintessential "wingman," though if you rein in your shyness you don't necessarily need to be resigned to that role. Nevertheless, it is your sensitive and emotional water signs that make you so self-critical. Don't worry about the judgement of others. Because you are such a dominant water sign, with a metal rising sign, the alchemical properties of water may enhance the Dog aspect of your personality. You may identify more with the dignity, nobility and spontaneity of the Dog over the reserved, calculated, bookish quality of the Rat. Either way, you prefer a reactive strategy to life, business and relationships over a planned one. Because of the water element dominating your birthsigns, you should be aware of your kidney health. Beware excessive alcohol consumption and prescription drug abuse, as well as cocaine use. Your bladder may also cause you issues later in life. If you begin to have heavy bags under your eyes or begin balding, it is because your water element is out of balance. Counteract this by supplimenting your diet with bright but darker-coloured fruit, such as blackberries, plums and grapes. Specifically make sure you get enough Vitamin C, which is really quite easy. Avoid coffee, as you are already a natural insomniac, since you experience the greatest creativity at night. Consuming coffee will damage your kidneys and the caffeine will do little but overstimulate you. You must avoid letting your mind run in circles (like the Smashing Pumpkins' proverbial Rat in a Cage) and keep an eye on the health consequences of your nocturnal nature. Anger and grief will take the greatest toll on you while fear will hold you back. Avoid people and situations that provoke you and learn to proactively heal yourself after experiencing loss. Grief, and the anger it usually carries with it, will destroy your health and well-being. You are especially vulnerable to these emotions, and will find them literally "draining," so keep an eye on them. February 2, 2008 will see the Chinese New Year ushering in good tidings for you, with another Year of the Rat. In your own year your already robust creativity will grow even greater. Luck will follow you where you go and financial gains will reveal themselves to you. You'll flourish in 2008 without much trouble, mostly because you spent 2007 in the planning stages laying some ground work for this year's endeavors. (right?) How'd I do? Taoist Astrology
Quote:1982 4:20 am and 4:20 pm (just to make it interesting for you  )Ah 1982, yang-water year of the Dog, or Black Dog. Like M.Enforcer your personal symbol is the wave or turbulent ocean and your color is black. Being a Dog sign you are an excellent friend, trustworthy, loyal, generous and possess a healthy sense of humor. Most Dog signs, however, have a rigid moral structure for their lives, and tend to be extreme in their moral positions (often highly religious). You do not share this similarity to other Dog signs. You are more intuitive and passionate about personal freedom of expression, making you the least "dogmatic" and judgemental of Dogs. You are caring of others and instinctively amusing and enjoy a large circle of friends. Fair and open-minded, you are grounded by a strong common sense. You best express yourself as a counselor, healer or guide. Dog is a metal sign, which alchemically "holds" water, strengthening it. This makes your birth year complimentary to your nature. You'll find it easy to find contentment in life, unlike other Dogs, who struggle most of their lives for personal "crusades," attempting to dominate and influence others. The water element's tendency to "go with the flow" allows you to adapt with others, and spares you the temper most Dogs possess, but to it's extreme can make you too forgiving of people who deserve criticism. You are probably a committed partner in your relationships and are sensual and "pleasing." On the flip side, you may succumb to self-satisfaction in this area, and should watch you don't leave your partner "wanting." (I think that was clear enough, lol) I was born at 4:20pm PST but 7:20pm where I was born locally. The twelve hour difference between the signs makes a significant difference. 4:20am is ruled by tiger, while 4:20pm is the domain of the monkey. Monkey teases tiger mercilessly, and so the two are bitter enemies. Tigers are passionate and emotional. Monkeys are clever. While tigers harmoniously balance with dogs, they can become childish and irresponsible. On the other hand, they are fun-loving by nature, which explains for this trait. Alchemically, Tiger poorly balances with Dog however, as the metal Dog threatens to overbear the Tiger, which is a wood element (albeit a powerful one.) Monkey, on the other hand, strengthens the metal quality of the Dog. If you are a Monkey rising, it might be a good idea to train cardiovascularly (word?) and avoid smoking. Monkey signs enjoy natural talents and fully developed skills, some of which they fail to realize they even possess. If I had to venture a guess, I'd say you were born at 4:20am, which explains your positive and optimistic attitude. No matter whether you are Monkey or Tiger, you have a yang-yang-yang-yang imbalance to your character. You will be most successful if you tap into your intuition and allow it to develop fully. This may not be too difficult as being born in a water year significantly increases your yin-energy, but since it expressed itself in a yang form, it may not come as easily as it does for others. Probably Dog's rational view conflicts with your Water yin-intuition. Allow the two to work together and you will find your personality expressing itself most clearly. Because of your birth in a water year, you should be careful you don't succumb to shyness. Adventure will reward you. Again, water signs must be aware of their kidneys and bladder and avoid excessive drink. Alcohol, prescription drugs, and other activities that put pressure on the kidneys should be minimized to enjoy full health. In your case, grief will be your worst enemy, and obsession with the past threatens to paralyze you. Avoid sentimentality. For 2008, the brightest forcast is your health. You will thrive in 2008 and should consider exercise, which you will find invigorating for '08 as opposed to draining and exhaustive. Economically, you will do fine, but not in a generally pleasing way. You will probably find work in '08 monotonous and boring. But who doesn't. Peace 666 &We grow to recognize form. Quote:I'll hop in line too. :biggrin:1970? I always assumed you were a child of the 80's. Young at heart I guess. 1970 is a year of the Dog as well, but unlike 1982, it is on a completely different wavelength. 1970 is a yang-metal year, influencing your yang-metal Dog sign tremendously. This gives you an overwhelmingly "metal" nature to your personality. White is the warrior's color. Your personal symbol is the sword. Being a metal-year Dog you are tremendously powerful in spirit, and the white Dog is considered one of the most powerful signs of the Taoist zodiac. Combined with the natural traits of the Dog, you enjoy a strong sense of righteousness, will, intensity, quality of character, and determination. In Tibet, white Dog is called "Iron Dog" because your determination and will are so strong. Your karmic path is especially important, because Iron Dogs can become strong zealots of either the good or bad. (I think you've turned out alright,) Your personality traits, for good or ill, are extremes. You dislike being second guessed or questioned, and tend to be ruthless towards those that stand in your way. Strict, honest and unbending in principles, money is not what motivates you, rather the dedication to your chosen cause is what motivates you. I think this displays itself strongly in your music career. In relationships you may appear superficially uncaring, however on the inside this is the opposite of the case. Your "iron" nature makes it difficult for you to expose weakness, especially on an emotional level, but Metal is a feminine element (though the least feminine) and this may help to balance your fear of emotional instability. In reality, you fiercely love those you care about, but have high expectations for them. You make a wonderful parent or care-giver, but must be cautious about those high expectations, and try not to be too critical of those you care about. Because of your strong opinions and moral values, you probably feel persecuted by society, which fails to come anywhere near these lofty and altruistic expectations. Free-thinking, independent and strong, you irk from conformity and strongly oppose injustice, however, you may find yourself contradicting that nature, by not understanding why others won't conform to your non-conformist world view! Your rising sign is the Serpent, a very powerful and well-respected sign. It is considered the wisest of all signs, especially toward human matters. You are probably a shmoozer, enjoying the party and chatting it up with wide varieties of personalities, all whom you rather intuitively understand. People's motivations are generally clear to you and you are probably rarely fooled by the kind word hiding an ulterior motive. The serpent, as wise as it is, is a yin sign, and therefore further encourages your empathetic and altruistic personality. Simply put, you understand what is going on in people's lives and are happy to assist them if they only ask. The serpent, however, is a fire sign, which spells trouble for your strong metal quality. At first glance, this may appear to be detrimental to your personality, since your rising sign will try to "melt away" your metal Dog qualities. Since serpent is a yin sign, while dog is a yang sign, it will find difficulty completely overwhelming your personality, however, and conflicting signs show great potential. Lao-tzu said: Know the white, yet keep the black. Be aware of this combination and change your life to suit it. This "conflicting" nature will probably express itself mostly in your health. You may have been sickly as a child, or will become sickly in your old age if you aren't aware of your body's complex alchemical make-up. Your heart and lung health are especially important, and unlike some your mental health is deeply tied into your physical health, specifically your happiness. In times of great dischord, your health will suffer unless you go through great efforts to prevent it. Spicy food, specifically hot peppers, invigorate the spirit, especially the serpent, and will keep heart problems at bay. Your heart and your lungs are most important. Don't allow the pain of loss, whether in a relationship or the death of a loved one, to waste away your body or spirit. Expressing your emotions will be your greatest attribute. Realizing this instinctively, it seems, you gravitated towards music. Expressing your emotions through music is especially beneficial to you, but you must make great efforts not to be too greatly devastated by "haters" and others critical or dismissive of your passion. For 2008, your forecast is similar to DSB's. Health will be great, work will be okay, but boring. Dogs require dynamic living situations or grow listless and unhealthy. Be sure to keep yourself entertained is the key word, and you will enjoy 2008. It is a fortuitous year for you. Peace, 666 &We grow to recognize form. We grow to label that form. Quote:Ok triplesix and eschelon:LOL: Quote:Give it a go, i would be very interested to find out what you find. ThanksI like this. Something completely different from what I've had so far. You are a Yellow Horse. Yellow is the Earth element expressed in a masculine form, making your personal symbol a mountain. Again, like most ConCen members so far, your alchemical relationship is greatly balanced. Horse is a fire element, and Fire "nurtures" Earth because when fire burns ash is created. This means you find most things in life come easy to you and you don't have to struggle as much as others to succeed. Another beneficial aspect to this birth sign is that Earth characteristics, such as stability, honesty, pragmatism, and industriousness are not usually present in Horses. With this nurtured Earth characteristic you have a well-balanced and fully fleshed out personality. This expresses itself in your business sense and ability to manage your time and effort wisely. You are logical and fair in your dealings and don't unwisely succumb to whim and wanting. Your sincerity and good nature makes you plenty of friends, who value your friendship greatly. With family you are well-liked and asked about often. You get along well with others, because you lack the impetuosity and confrontational nature of most Horses. This is perhaps best expressed in your ability to diplomatically acquiesce (though not necessarily admit defeat) to belligerent people. You are greatly interested in knowledge. That is abundantly clear. However, unlike most scholastic types you are more intrigued by travel and learn best by immersion rather than observation. You prefer to jump into other cultures and experience their shoes on your feet directly, and unlike other Horses, you don't mind having company, especially family, along for the ride. Your rising sign, from early afternoon, is the Sheep. This is revealing for a few reasons. One, the Sheep is another Fire sign. Two, the Sheep is yin. This is another yin-yang balance in your signs. This is really phenomenal. With the yin-Earth year feeding your yang-fire yang-Horse and yang-fire yin-Sheep, you have a balanced yang-dominant fire-based personality fed and balanced even more by the yin-Earth. This means your spirit burns bright and white hot inside you. This makes you deeply spiritual (not necessarily religious) and introspective when left to your devices. Interacting with others, you are extroverted, dynamic, passionate, intense and direct. This should be balanced by an awareness of your own tendency towards arrogance. Sheep, complimenting Horse, makes you sociable, and you gracefully, through well-cultivated speaking skills, make others feel special and valued when talking with you. Probably, people "open up to you" more quickly or perhaps right away. You're a valued partner in relationships, which you take seriously and with devotion, and are probably adored by most in-laws or family of your current squeeze. Uncomplicated and down-to-earth, you are easily satiated and are probably a vegetarian or enjoy a simple palate. Fire emotions are strong emotions, joy, pleasure, fun as well as frustration, vanity, and jealousy. You need to avoid regret, specifically of past relationships. Keep an eye on your small intestines, oddly enough. The minor yang imbalance upsets them. Also, heart health should be of particular concern. Regret, pensiveness, and anger at oneself over past events will be a detriment to your health and put undue strain on your heart. Enjoy spicy foods to encourage yourself to stay "in the moment" and invigorate yourself. First and foremost, drop any sentimental attachments to "lost loves." Not to be a downer, but entering the year of the Rat is poor tidings for the Horse. Opposite the Horse on the zodiac, Rats are a bad omen for you. Horses take particular offense from authority, and you may find yourself dealing with "the law" in 2008. Romance and money both look bad. Be aware of your budget and be disciplined in your relationship and you should be able to ride out the year without too much trouble. On a final note, Yellow Horses are not like most Horses, and for that reason you will not find '08 as difficult as other Horses, and on top of that, it is the year of the Yellow Rat, so it is not as diametrically opposed as it really could be. Nonetheless, it's a shitty forecast. Sorry bro! Just remember, you are a strong, strong sign, a Rat year can't stop you. Also, Sheep tend to have difficult childhoods and youth followed by a dignified and worry-free adulthood. For most Sheep, life is a constant grind upward. Good luck! Peace, 666 &We grow to recognize form. We grow to label that form. In doing so, do we become more intelligent? Do we become more awakened?& - Siji Tzu 四季子 |

Hey Triple Nice post
Here's mine......10.24am 1969 Cheers  Ah, Britain. Where you can be fined for saying 'f..k' in a private conversation. Where every single child will soon be fingerprinted. Where all people will be ordered to carry an I.D. card at all times, to be swiped every time they withdraw a fairly small amount of money from the bank, buy an airline ticket, apply for a fishing license, purchase property, apply for a library card, get a prescription filled, and so on. Where you can be sentenced to 80 hours of community service for wearing the wrong T-shirt. Where having a pen knife in your car can get you arrested. Where being too fat can get you carted off to a mental institution. Where government workers will come to your home to verify you're not using too much electricity, and to note whether or not you smoke. Where all vehicles' whereabouts will soon be monitored by satellite 24/7. Where you'll get fined for using a pencil instead of a pen when filling out a form. Where people are captured by video surveillance cameras some 300 times a day. Where officials tell you how to go to the bathroom. The government are keeping many secret that are beneficial to humanity. That is to say that what benefits the majority is suppressed or classified as top secret. They are the enemy of the people. We are their slaves they leech off us like a cancer and the only cure is true knowledge or the truth. |
