I was so down with certain friends on facebook that I deleted a whole bunch.
Today I woke up and realized that it was 911. What fucking strange vibe.
In the 60's, people took acid to make the world weird. Now the world is weird and people take Prozac to make it normal. As a reputed atheist, the reverential nature of his film was surprising, but Pasolini himself said &If you know that I am an unbeliever, then you know me better than I do myself. I may be an unbeliever, but I am an unbeliever who has a nostalgia for a belief.&

everything is me me me on facebook, I should have never ever opened another account there. I know what you mean too by the vibe Weyland. I wont be looking back this time. Its all about moving onwards and forwards and away from crap that slows you down. ~ Veritas Vos Liberabit ~ |

Or just all become my mates on there, most of you probs know who I am if your in the ConCen group I started
Then PM me and I will send you a bunch of really down to earth friend suggestions. I have at times thought of quitting it, but that's only due to family these days, not "debates" etc.I don't agree with a lot of those I speak with over FB, but I certainly get along with them, and have spent a long time refining my more limited "infowarriors" (come on, it's better than "truther" ) list, pruning when needed, adding after deliberation and research......it's how you use it, and let's face it, any info you've already put in is stored somewhere anyway, and personal info should be as bogus as possible for those worried about privacy issues. But each to their own, and just when I have considered quitting it I wouldn't have needed people saying you should do the same as me...because you should do what's best for you. But do utilise that blocklist people...it's there for a reason. And have fun with your privacy settings

And all these people that wanna go clubbing but they can't even afford a fucking beer LOL! All these fucking people with the most bullshit degrees from one of those online colleges. And they all owe 50 g's and they are the most miserable personalities you could hang with. And of course the backstabbing friends, sure had plenty of those. Where are the classy cool people these days man? Shit met somebody the other day and they bought me a beer I almost lost it man. What you are treating me to fucking beer DAMN its AMAZING! Usually I treat everybody. In the 60's, people took acid to make the world weird. I've never used facebook but thanks for the heads up. It clearly looks like something I don't want to experience. LOL

I could understand the uses for business or marketing but the personal uses are just overkill, imo...and overused. My brother is a facebook addict. Ive been pressured by almost everyone in my family to open an account, and I find that so odd. Never has anyone asked me to register an account with any other website. My cousin (who lives in florida) was like "I could keep in touch with you on there, send you messages and stuff, it's cool." I was like, "Dude, you have my phone number, home address, and my email address. You dont need to keep in touch with me thru some other website." I just dont get it. RE: I was so down with certain friends on facebook that I deleted a whole bunch.
I knew the "11th" would be a day to steer clear of facebook. I felt the fury without even logging in.... I still haven't been back yet.....
I'm trying to do a good job of keeping my wall art related. I don't have the time to keep up every day.... I hear you though about being sucked in... that's why I avoid the place. :grins: * I value my time..... I say this now... but watch.... next week I'll be there for several days strait.... Sometimes I find it beneficial.... but more often then not.... it's just a time sucker..... Either way.... if you were on facebook on September 11th........ I feel for you..... I'm sure it was interesting. I'm glad it's the 14th..... and I hope your all coping with the things you said... or the statements that you witnessed other people say.

RE: I was so down with certain friends on facebook that I deleted a whole bunch.
I was on there for the 11th, and it was like any other Facebook day
Like I said, I've been refining my lists for some time now, so the hateful trolls aren't anywhere to be seen. Of course this doesn't go for other pages, but they are so easily avoidable, for me at least. But then, I also have family in the US that I am able to keep in touch with much more easily, and also family around the rest of the UK in different places, so of course it's nice to be able to see what's going on in their lives, maybe it would be different if we all lived in the same area. (09-11-2011 10:40 PM)Weyland Wrote: I was so down with certain friends on facebook that I deleted a whole bunch. On September 11th? Facebook is 1984 thru and thru, i initially joined to find some old friends, found most, got their emails, then ended up in finding a bunch of new "friends" by commenting on the "walls" of others for a month or two or so, i then began posting a bunch of out there but high quality (imo) info on my own wall to freak them out a bit, then, when i got bored of it made my excuses and deleted "my" account in best way possible - tho i dont believe for a second that a copy wasnt retained somewhere. I don't miss it, all the highest technologies pertaining to an interest in mass social data collection belong to the alphabet agencies etc and who they answer to, so it follows that a social experiment like facebook is somehow obviously expoited to the full and is a globally contained environment in much the same way like in the film the truman show too |
