This movie thriller is in german language. The english title would be: The Phantom (2000). Based on the bestselling and highly explosive book "Das RAF-Phantom" which exposed the people behind the left-wing extremist group RAF that was terrorizing Germany. But what purposes did they really serve? It is historically a fact that after every terrorist attack the masses are more than willing to relinquish their freedoms and support more oppresive legislation that eventually leads to police state. In the movie, an unsuspecting police officer finds himself in the middle of a major political conspiracy. As he is trying to grasp what is really happening, he learns of more and more clues that link the RAF terrorist group to intelligence services and highest circles of government. Can you imagine that a New York cop would discover that CIA is (still) in control of Osama bin Laden? Well, perhaps this is also true. And as the RAF terrorist says in the movie: "They (the state) need us!". 93 min.

Zur falschen Zeit am falschen Ort! Fuer den jungen Drogenfahnder Leo Kramer (Juergen Vogel) sollte es nur eine Routineobservation werden, als er ploetzlich Zeuge eines grausamen Mordanschlages wird. Fuer Leo beginnt ein Alptraum. Als auch sein Polizei Chef umgebracht wird, verdaechtigt man ihn des Mordes. Er kann nur fliehen. Gejagt von einem brutalen Killer und den Zielfahndern seiner Behoerde, taucht Leo unter und ermittelt auf eigene Faust. Langsam begreift er, dass er mitten in eine politische Verschwoerung auf hoechster Ebene hineingeraten ist. Das Film basiert auf der bestseller Buch "Das RAF-Phantom". Wer steckt hinter der RAF? Wem nützt die RAF? Waren Opfer wie Herrhausen und Rohwedder vielleicht politisch und wirtschaftlich Andersdenkende, die für die herrschenden Machtstrukturen unbequem waren? Als einer der RAF Terorristen in der Film klar sagt:"Sie (das Staat) brauchen uns!". Ein Film die ihre Augen offnet. 93 min.
