Can you tell what it is? Zoo mystified by 'unidentified' creature
![]() A strange-looking animal is keeping zoo staff guessing as to what kind of creature he is in China. The weird but wonderful animal, with his dappled fur and prominent eyes, has yet to be identified by zookeepers, and was handed in by an anonymous man. ![]() Staff at the Wenling, in eastern China, believe him to be some kind of monkey, but others have suggested his characteristics are more akin to a bush baby. The zoo is monitoring his development, and are waiting to see if he grows into anything they can recognise but, in the meantime, answers on a postcard please... It looks like across between a chinchilla and a squirrel! It's amazing though how little we know about our planet. I wonder how many species have dies out since "civilisation" began that nobody ever got to see alive.

I've been encountering from time to time notions that evolution doesn't occur gradually over time, but happens over short periods in bursts (perhaps over the course of a few years). Other sources have linked this to the evolution of consciousness increasing in frequency, which then leads to the golden age "soon".
Perhaps this little one is a recent creation by that process. ---Truth appears in many forms. Find those that resonate with you. ---"If we do not believe in freedom of speech for those we despise we do not believe in it at all" - Noam Chomsky Avaaz.org - The World In Action |

The three grand imperatives of imperial geostrategy are to prevent collusion and maintain security dependence among the vassals, to keep tributaries pliant and protected, and to keep the barbarians from coming together. Zbig the Ruthless. |
