True story: A young man in Las Vegas, who is severely autistic, was doing so well his mom and dad decided they could take a night off and go camping.

After spending the night camping, the mother found out she had 25 messages from their son, all saying, “Come home right now, there's a troll in the closet.”

The father rolled his eyes as they came home from the camp out. As they got to the front door, the son came out and repeated excitedly “there's a troll in the closet.”

The father assured him that he would check out the “troll,” but, as he neared the closet, he heard a voice say, “May I have a glass of water, please?”

When he opened the closet, he saw a “little person” who was a Jehovah's Witness. The autistic boy, who had never seen a small man before, let him in the house and believed he had to “trap” him.

We don't know the rest of the story, but we can believe they will not let him stay alone again and the Jehovah's Witnesses will steer clear of the “troll trapper.”

SOUTHWORTH, Wash. (AP) - A man trying to loosen a stubborn lug nut blasted the wheel with a 12-gauge shotgun, injuring himself badly in both legs, Kitsap County sheriff's deputies said.

The 66-year-old man had been repairing a Lincoln Continental for two weeks at his home northwest of Southworth and east of Port Orchard and had gotten all but one of the lug nuts off the right rear wheel before getting frustrated Saturday afternoon, Deputy Scott Wilson said.

"He's bound and determined to get that lug nut off," Wilson said.

From about arm's length the man fired the shotgun at the wheel and was "peppered" in both legs with 00 buckshot and other debris, with some injuries as high on his body as his chin, according to a sheriff's office report.

"Nobody else was there and he wasn't intoxicated," Wilson said.

South Kitsap Fire and Rescue personnel treated the man at the scene before he was taken to Tacoma General Hospital with injuries Wilson described as "severe but not life-threatening."

He said deputies were unable to get a full statement from the man, relying only on what they could learn while medics treated him at the scene.

"I don't think he was in any condition to say anything," Wilson said. "The pain was so severe, and the shock."

Man Cites Boredom After Arrest On Streaking Charge

KINGSPORT, Tenn - A man who has been charged with making a naked dash through a Tennessee supermarket told police he was "bored and didn't have anything else to do."

The Kingsport Times-News reports that a man entered an IGA store Friday night, wearing nothing but a face mask, and ran around the aisles.

A police report says officers found the suspect in the bathroom of a nearby Hardee's restaurant. Employees say he entered the fast food outlet wearing nothing but an orange hooded sweat shirt and asked if anyone could lend him clothes. An employee gave him a pair of athletic shorts.

Kingsport police arrested 22-year-old Daniel R. Lee of Church Hill and have charged him with indecent exposure.

A staple on west Edmonton street corners, Dancing Dan, is fighting a $402 ticket he received in Spruce Grove for stunting.

Dancing Dan dances to the beat on city streets and most people can't help but smile while he jives.

Recently, Dan went to visit a friend in Spruce Grove and while walking to their house, he started to dance, as he usually does. But his moves weren't welcome.

"It just makes me sick to my stomach to know that I received this violation ticket for what I enjoy doing," Dancing Dan told CTV News.

Dan was handed a ticket by an RCMP officer earlier this week and this was his first violation. In Edmonton, officers have told Dan that if he keeps his moves off the street, he can dance on any sidewalk he pleases.

"As a result of public complaints Dan eventually got a stunting ticket for interfering with the motorists," said Sgt. Jim Martin with Spruce Grove RCMP.

The RCMP said the complaints they received ranged from drivers being distracted by the dancing to some saying they were concerned Dan was suffering a medical attack.

"We know that's his passion and we don't want to discourage what Dan is doing, but we have to find an alternate location for him to do that where its not interfering with motorists," said Martin.

Spruce Grove Mayor Stuart Houston said RCMP officers were just doing their job.

"There was several occasions they tried to get Dan to move to another location and I can't really criticize them for trying to do their job," said Houston.

Dan said the ticket price is more than he can handle.

"It's a $402 fine and I don't know how I'm going to pay for something like that," he said.

But Dan may have some help paying for that ticket. A local Edmonton radio station said they would be happy to foot the cost.

"We're going to pay it because for all the things that go on in this world this doesn't seem like a big one and it brings so much joy," said 100.3 The Bear radio host, Paul Brown. "It really puts a smile on your face (and) I actually pull around to go watch him again."

And most Edmonton drivers admitted that they consider Dan's dancing to be harmless.

"If he is causing accidents, that is a problem but I mean as far as I know everyone is entertained by him. I don't think he's hurting anybody," said Lori Williamson.

The RCMP told CTV News on Thursday afternoon they're confident the violation will be taken care of before Dan has to go to court.

Houston said Spruce Grove would encourage Dan to return but encourages him to find a safer venue to dance in.

"It makes me at ease that this will be dismissed eventually and then I will be a free person to do what I want to do," said Dan.

People rallied behind this guy and groups even came out to protest and collect a fund for Dancing Dan. There were entire local radio shows dedicated to the story as it developed. Edmonton has a strong community of volunteerism (food bank, soup kitchen and charities are usually overwhelmed with support) and community spirit. But sometimes I just wish it was better channelled.

As far as activism here it's pretty dead for the most part (as far as I have noticed) as long as people are fat and happy and as long as oil prices stay high that may not change anytime soon even though provincial governance is clearly bought and paid for by foreign oil interests. There was a couple of GreenPeace things going on protesting big oil and promoting the global warming agenda. There is always a good rally against social cutbacks - but the school is always closed and the hospital is always boarded up. The government as a whole is deaf to my pleas. Overall, it's been a tough nut to crack when bringing up the more pertinent issues in a larger scope but I'll persist. I love a challenge.
