Associated Press 04.09.07, 1:23 PM ET

Oil field services provider Halliburton Co. on Monday said it has finished with all its contractual commitments in Iran and is pulling out of the country.

Halliburton (nyse: HAL - news - people ) announced in January 2005 that it would only honor existing contracts and would wind down its operations in the country.

The company's statement comes as Iran announced Monday it has begun enriching uranium, expanding a nuclear program that has raised the ire of Western nations and resulted in U.N. sanctions.

The U.S. and its allies have accused Iran of intending to produce nuclear weapons with the enriched uranium, which can be used as fuel for a nuclear reactor or as material for a nuclear warhead. Iran has denied the charge, saying its program is peaceful is nature.

Halliburton shares fell 14 cents to $32.81 in afternoon trading on the New York Stock Exchange.
This may explain why the US bombing of Iran has been delayed. Now that preparations are complete, get ready for some fireworks.

that makes sense. its original intentions were peaceful while analysts said Iran was 10 years away from a nuclear weapon. because of the sanctions they will probably redouble their efforts.

I guess now we just wait for them to sign another huge contract with the government?

Um, no. You people are just plain daft.

The "bombing" of Iran has not been "delayed."

What frickin' retard would seriously believe that Cheney didn't know Haliburton employees were working in Iran?

US businesses are prohibited by public law from even attempting to negotiate a contract with the government of Iran without first obtaining the express consent of the US Congress.

So, someone please tell me again that no one in the US Government knew Haliburton employees were working in Iran.

And preparations are not complete. 5 brigades from the "troop surge" are still here in the US. One brigade deploys in the next few days, then the last brigade of the original "troop surge" deploys mid-May, then the 7,000 go later in May and then the 9,000 members of the nasty guard units that just got called up deploy the first week of June or so.

If you don't know, call one of the troops and ask or call somone who works on the base who knows.

All of the assets won't be in place until June, which just happens to coincide with the end of the monsoon season. It's hard to believe that a country so obsessed with weather that it takes up 20 minutes of a 30 minute newscast doesn't know it's monsoon season or that the winds are blowing south to west.

Doesn't anyone remember Chernobyl? That was 100 pounds of uranium on fire and burning, throwing radioactive material up into the air.

What do you suppose would happen if 2 tons of uranium at Nantz started burning after the facility was bombed?

Americans like numbers so I'll put it in a context that everyone can easily understand. Chernobyl = 100 pounds and Nantz = 4,000 pounds.

100 : 4,000

One of these things is not like the other. Can anyone guess which one?

If the winds are blowing south to west, were do you think 4,000 pounds of burning uranium will go?

All over their precious oil fields in Khuzestan, all over US and British sailors in the Persian Gulf, all over their precious oil fields at Ghewar, all over their precious oil processing facilities at Ghewar, all over their precious oil tankers in the Persian Gulf and all over their expendable troops in Iraq and Kuwait.

So, now that gasoline is $12/gallon, US Economy, thumbs up or thumbs down?

I'll tell you what, while you still have a job and while you still have some money, you might want to invest in a very comfortable pair of Rockport shoes.

They'll come in handy while you're standing in the unemployment line, and while you're pounding pavement looking for a job that pays at leasy $6/hour and you'll be walking because you won't be able to afford to drive and they'll also be nice while you're standing in the soup line and later when you're in a concentration camp, you can trade your Rockports for something you need, like food, or maybe bribe a guard not to select you to be shot and dumped into the pit.

When the bombing in Yugoslavia started, the Serb army ran up into the mountains. What did Clinton say about sending US troops to get the Serbs out of the mountains? No no, not hell no, but f**k no.

Do you think the Iranian army will assemble on the Iranian Plateau so they can be easy targets, or do you think they'll run up into the Elburz Mountains?

The Iranian units in southern Iran will run up into the Zagaros Mountains, which just happen to be in Khuzestan Province where 90% of the Iranian oil that Bush and Cheney want is located.

The US can't roll its armored division into Tehran, so how is Bush going to effect regime change and revert Iran from the Euro back to the US Dollar to keep you from losing your job?

How can Bush sieze the oil fields if the troops are still sitting in the US waiting to be deployed?

The US can't bomb Iranian troops if they're sitting on the fields and the US can't let Iranian troops destroy they oil wells to prevent their capture. That would remove 5% of the world's oil off of the market and drive the price up to $160-$180/barrel and very very bad for the US economy and your job.

You'll get your action, but it won't be for another 90 days at least, when all of the assets are in place. War isn't like sex where you do it spontaneously like they do it on the Discovery Channel. It requires extensive intense planning and preparation with all assets properly positioned, trained and ready to go.

You'd all do well to quit taking so seriously the shit published by Russian Jews in Russian newspapers. Really, April 6, at 4:00 AM? Right.

Well, Moriani, you're either really smart and an ass, or you're a govt disinfo agent(EDIT1: and an ass as well). Either way I don't like you and I don't care.

EDIT2: IF you are the former then... I appreciate your info, just wish you weren't such an ass.

EDIT3: P.S. You know you don't have to insult people just to get your point across, and this thread isn't the only thing I'm referring to. And also if you feel you need to argue w/ my prospective consider this: : :flame:

I agree with you 100 %. All that Moriani ever does is quote other people and tell them how wrong they are and how smart he is. An ass is probably a very conservative word for the fuckhead, "Jerk Off" is more like it. No matter what you know or have done he knows more and has done it better. Since we are so "daft" why don't you go spread your expertise/bullshit somewhere with like minded know it all Jerk Offs? I'm with Bando, Fuck you "Moron" ianai.

Thanks capitan,
I've been feeling this for the last month or so ever since moriani showed his/her face. If what moriani's been saying is true(or some of it), cool. But it does seem strange to me that he/she showed up only a month ago and starts telling everyone they're wrong. And all we're given is his/her word. I'm just a little suspicious.

-Peace

Search every post he has ever posted, nothing original just arguments. Always the "You guys don't no shit I am god approach". Maybe we will piss him off and he will take his know it all ass to another site. He obviously did very well when the military sent him to arrogance school. Providence could grant him a great job as a customs or immigration officer at the airport.

LOL, please, everyone who feels this way... show your support here.

Edit: I got your back, as long as I don't get banned from here for freedom of speech, lol.

Halliburton Pulls Out Of Iran - capitan1962 - 04-12-2007 03:50 PM

If they want to ban us for bringing this asshole out in the open then the site isn't worth wasting time on. Right off the bat all he did was start his "In your face" attitude and I for one won't be intimidated by a loser who sits behind his computer and talks shit. The moderators need to research his M.O. of posting. He has to quote other people first then argue, you know my opinion I am just glad that somebody else has seen it. If that is the clientel desired here they should change the name to "Arguments Central".

It's understandable to express difference of opinion but regardless of the issue this asshole always takes the other road. I am sure that if you would cleverly disguise the same venue on opposing views he would argue both. One thing this world has plenty of is assholes and the internet has brought them into your home.

I agree with that Moriani could be more polite. Most of us are not experts, but we try to discover the truth. That should be honored, even when we are wrong.

Halliburton Pulls Out Of Iran - TeslaandLyne - 04-12-2007 05:06 PM

So Moriani.

What are Bush and Halliburton going to do?

Halliburton Pulls Out Of Iran - capitan1962 - 04-12-2007 06:43 PM

He thinks he is an expert on everything. Doesn't matter what you write he knows more about it. "Whooptie fucking do" we all have access to the internet too.
